Our British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru and England shops will reopen their doors at 10am on Monday 12th April, following the most recent lockdown.

Allison Swaine-Hughes our Retail Director said: “We are thrilled to get our shops back up and running across England and Wales next week and look forward to welcoming our customers, staff and volunteers through the doors. As we reopen, our number one priority will be ensuring the safety of everyone who shops, works and volunteers with us.

We're urging people to support us by visiting their local shop to snap up a bargain and donate items that we can turn into vital funds. If you’re not quite ready to hit the shops, you can still donate your good quality items via our postal donation service.

"Every item sold can help us to support the 7.6 million people living with heart and circulatory diseases across the UK and aid our recovery from the devastating impact of the pandemic.

Our charity shops

In line with Government guidelines our shops in England and Wales will reopen with safety measures in place. These include social distancing on the shop floor, screens at till points and hand sanitiser available to customers. We would also ask customers to ensure they are wearing a face covering unless exempt for medical reasons.

Our fashion shops in Scotland and Northern Ireland remain closed at this time and unable to accept donations. If you have questions about a collection or purchase or would like to check if your local shop is now open, please head to our dedicated customer service page.

Donations are welcome

Our shops in Wales and England will welcome donations over the coming days; simply head to your nearest shop with your unwanted items and drop them off at our in-store donation points.

If you’re looking to make a larger donation, you can now arrange a Covid-secure home collection online or via your local store and have your items picked up free of charge. We welcome sofas, beds, bookcases, tables and chairs, homeware, TVs and other electricals in working order.

If you’re not yet ready to hit the high street or are based in an area where our shops remain closed, you can also post your smaller items such as branded clothing, jewellery, vinyl records and cameras, using our freepost donation service. Download your freepost label and head to your nearest Collect+ drop-off point with your unwanted items.

Once reopen, we will be welcoming new volunteers to come and support us. Head to bhf.org.uk/volunteer to register your interest or contact your local shop if they are open.

Your support is needed more than ever

The coronavirus crisis has had a devastating impact on the BHF’s income, cutting our ability to fund research in half and putting future life saving discoveries at risk. We are urgently appealing for your support as we reopen our shops and stores, helping us raise vital funds at a time when hearts need help more than ever.
