CA Recycling and Plastic Pollution Reduction Act - sign the petition now!

We have the opportunity to bring the fight against plastic pollution to the voters!

The groundbreaking California Recycling and Plastic Pollution Reduction Act initiative is on track to qualify for the statewide ballot thanks to signatures from hundreds of thousands of Californians, but we need your help to get it past the finish line. Due to the current global pandemic, signature gatherers have been pulled off of the streets and are unable to continue gathering the necessary signatures to put this measure on the ballot.

These unprecedented circumstances call for unprecedented solutions.

That’s why we’re asking YOU to print, sign, and mail in this petition.

The California Recycling and Plastic Pollution Reduction Act will:

  • Reduce the amount of single-use plastic sold in CA by no less than 25% by 2030

  • Ensure the remaining is truly (not hypothetically) recyclable, compostable or reusable by 2030

  • Assess a fee on plastic producers that will help fund the state’s recycling and composting infrastructure, and restore natural environments negatively impacted by plastic pollution

  • Phase out the use of Expanded Polystyrene (so called “Styrofoam”) takeout containers in favor of more sustainable alternatives

  • Create thousands of green jobs, at a time we need it most.

If you have a printer at home, please follow the instructions below, and help California move towards a sustainable future! Don’t forget to have the family or friends you are quarantining with to sign as well (maximum 4 signatures per printed petition)!
