Grayson Duet #1

Shadow Man

Rate this book
SHADOW MAN is the first book in a new duet from bestselling author Catherine Wiltcher’s Santiago saga...

BLURB:
Cause and consequence:
Two words that haunt me.
When I was stolen, I learned to hate.
When he saved me, I learned to fear.
I ran from him, following a trail of the dead, from Miami all the way to Colombia.
Now I’ve fallen into darkness again, and he’s the only one I see.

But he’s a shadow man.
A bad man.
A soldier.
A killer.
The red right hand to the devil himself.
We’re a dirty contradiction: I’m the girl who can’t be touched, whom he refuses to set free.
We’re a dangerous obsession: There’s damage running deep in both of our souls.
Caught up in a cartel war I want no part of.
Trapped between love and hate.
One night will change everything...

For years, Joseph Grayson killed in the name of Dante Santiago.
Now, he kills for me.

Coming face-to-face with her ever-present demons, Anna panics and hops on the first plane taking off.

An unexpected camaraderie with a local smuggling drugs leads her straight into a fresh hell she could’ve never seen coming.

Joseph and Luna’s story is simultaneously heartbreaking and intense. It’s action-packed with an all-consuming plot.

Imagine my surprise when I received a message from a gr friend, informing me that Joseph Grayson’s story has a HFN in the first part of The Grayson duet!!! 😱😱😱🥳🥳🥳 because I do not read series unless it is completed.

Joseph Grayson.
Second in command and best friend of Dante Santiago!
A white knight who rides a black horse with bloody scars and rent colours.
A soldier.
A killer.

“Killing comes as naturally to us as fucking.” Joseph

Anna Jackson had suffered a lot while she was held captive by Russian sex traffickers. Raped. Abused. Joseph might have saved her but she felt damaged and broken.

“I’m as empty as that word is complete.” Anna

“I want to fight for her. I want to slay every demon she wages war with, and restore her crown.” Joseph

Although their chemistry was charged, their connection developed gradually due to the specific tough and cruel incident. Their journey as to finally be together was surrounded with cartel disputes, danger, betrayal, grand family secrets, bullets and a spectacular shock in the end!!

The author’s writing again held the reins of this fantastic story, impressively, vivaciously and fiercely.
However, I wanted it lengthier!!! I wanted more scenes with Joseph and Anna or their characters’ development as well as their relationship’s. Also, a couple of scenes were not totally convincing.
Yes, characters from the Santiago trilogy appeared and I was on top of the world!

There was a catch though!!!! 😲
There WAS a cliffhanger, featuring a new character, prolonging how regally hell will break loose in the next part!!! 🧨☄️🧨
I never saw that coming and to be honest it was the death of me... 🤭🤭🤭

Do you remember the song by Joe Cocker “I Put a Spell on You?”
That is exactly what Catherine Wiltcher has done to me.. 🤩

With every rose there are thorns. There is no beauty without the beast. Shadow man is my first read by Catherine Wiltcher and this is the first half of a duet.

The shadow man is Joseph. He isn’t a good guy but he is the only one to save Anna. The story unfolds giving a few pieces of the puzzle at a time. The past, the present and the strength to move forward. Anna went through a bad experience but the reason is something she wants to forget. She doesn’t care about herself or life. Joseph is the only one who sees her but he doesn’t want the broken version. Only Anna can fix herself. Joseph will be her shadow to keep her safe. She will try to run but in the end, she needs to face the reality head-on.

Raw, gritty and so bad you will want more. This is the story of two damaged people. Their pasts mould them into the characters they become. Their story is one of love and war. This is just the beginning.

ARC in exchange for an honest review. A suspense thriller which is set in a bad world.

SPOILERS BELOW ⬇️

I am continuing my reread of Catherine's book with the start of the Grayson duet. I knew this book and the second one will have major dark themes so please aware. If you wish to be spoiled about certain events, then keep reading this review as I will mention them.

At the end of book 2 in the Santiago Trilogy Anna was kidnapped by the Russians and spent three days being raped and abused. She was finally rescued by Joseph and Dante, but these events led her to being a shell of her former self and she is obviously going through massive trauma.

This book starts off 6 months after the end of the Santiago books where we see that Anna has developed monthly addiction habits. Drugs and alcohol to numb the pain, she has been going in and out of rehab and Joseph refuses to let go. She has no desire to get better or be around Eve anymore and I cannot blame her.

Her last attempt at rehab is about to happen after she was found in an alley high off cocaine and about to be raped by two men when Joseph shows up and saves her. After begging him to let her go home and change before going to rehab he allows it, but this is where she runs away and takes a flight out of Miami anywhere that’s available and that is Colombia...

When she arrived in Colombia, she meets this random girl named Viviana who was forced to be a drug mule and they develop an unlikely friendship...they end up being chased by the guys who forced the girl and they attempt to kill them with one of the men raping Viviana after it is revealed she wanted to sell out Anna to make amends but changed her mind.

I had a bad feeling about Viviana from the beginning when I first read this, and it will come into play later on. I however did feel her remorse when those men showed up and she refused to hand over Anna as payment. Anna manages to get a gun and kills the guys, and we find out one of them is the son of one of the drug lords that rules over Colombia and this is an act of war.

Joseph of course finds both of them and attempts to get Anna out, but Viviani manages to get there, and she doesn't know who Joseph is and what their relationship is...Joseph lets Anna go but follows her.

We end up at this sanctuary at Emilio's (Dante's older brother) old home where woman who were trafficked or harmed are healing. We see Gabriella who from the Trilogy we know is the woman who not only did Dante give his first daughter too but was also Manuel's mother.

The ending is what got me screaming. Viviana proves herself in more ways than one to Dante when it is revealed she is the daughter of dead Emilio. Nobody knew and she had been hidden by Gabriella. Dante likes her mind and how it works for the business and gives he a chance to take over some parts of it.

Here is where things are bad: My feeling about Viviana was right. Why? Well, the last chapter is her meeting with a very much alive (barely alive though) Emilio and their plan to destroy Dante's world!

We get some backstory from Joseph in this book: His father killed his brother, mother and attempted to kill Joseph before killing himself instead and Joseph was stuck with the dead bodies for over a day before he was found.

Anna reveals what she endured in the hands of the sex traffickers and it's bad. She was raped by multiple men at once and throughout the three days and they degraded her by peeing on her and abusing her.

AT THE END THOUGH we finally find out why Joseph had two wedding rings in his necklace when we also find out that those aren't his first marriage rings.
He bought them after Amsterdam because he wanted to marry Anna and was keeping them until she was ready to receive them.

Okay three things:

1. I love Grayson
2. The reason behind the rings was amazing
3. Wtf was that ending?????

“He made me scared, more scared than I’d ever felt in my life. More scared than the night my mother died, and the cold blue walls of loneliness turned her bedroom into a prison cell. He was a beautiful savage. A terrible monster… And he wore his danger like a Congressional Medal of Honor."

Caution:- This review isn’t going to be much of a review but a fangirling gig on my part because there’s no way I can stop gushing about it until next year.

Before I start, I have a confession to make. When I took on this ARC, my intentions weren’t pure towards Joseph. I was craving to have one on one time with Dante. ‘Tis the truth that I needed my Dante hit.

Ohmigosh! I freaking loved this book!!!

Joseph Grayson, a.k.a., Shadow was first introduced in Hearts of Darkness (Santiago Trilogy, Book 1).{ For those who haven’t read the series, you don’t know what you’re missing out!}

Joseph is the right hand man and brother-in-arms of Dante Santiago, ex-military, ex-cartel boss, wanted fugitive of law, sexy as fuck and....okay! Back to Joseph..Right!

Finally, we get to peek inside the enigma that is Joseph Grayson. His character had always been a favorite of mine. His past is most heartbreaking. I had expected some tears but I was throat-blocked in some of the scenes. The story of how he became the man he is today, is truly beautiful. A perfect alpha, Joseph is going to be locked in my BBF boxes for a long time now.

Anna Williams, also introduced previously, was taken by the Russian Bratva as a collateral against Santiago. She was abused in the most gruesome ways, as a result, she is now only the shell of the lovely girl she used to be. Her story broke my heart.
When she is overwhelmed by her past, she makes an impulsive decision to leave everything behind and run. She never imagined the shit she’ll be landing into. It’s even muckier than her previous predicament. Caught between a cartel war, she unintentionally, sets off a Domino effect of catastrophic events.

The story is probably much darker than the author previous works, so please heed to the trigger warnings.

I can name only a handful of writers whose writing is so strong, it grips from the beginning till the end. Catherine is one of them. This book was everything I expected it to be and more! It delivered everything it promised.
The writing style was impeccable, the plot gritty and raw and the characters perfect. What more can I ask for? Well….a little bit of Dante….
Desperately waiting for the next book!

Shadow Man is an all-consuming, flawlessly written dark romance with a captivating storyline and unforgettable characters. Catherine Wiltcher delivers a heart wrenching and emotional love story about two broken people who find unexpected solace amid chaos. This was a sexy and seductive cat-and-mouse chase set within a richly layered and unique storyline.

“You don't have a choice, sweetheart. You’ve been mine since the first day we met.“

This story is about more than two people finding love and healing. It's an exhilarating ride of survival, pain, and growth. It's a love story driven by raw emotion, one that is executed with flawless precision. Wiltcher's storytelling skills are top notch and with this story, she takes her readers on an unforgettable journey. We met Joseph and Anna in the Santiago Trilogy, and readers were given bits and pieces of their backgrounds, as well as their attraction to each other. This book delves into the events that molded them into who they are as people, and the inexplicable pull that exists between them. Wiltcher did such a fantastic job building the structure of their complicated relationship. The dialogue and inner monologues fully encompass the fear, lust, and unfiltered emotion that exists between them. I liked how the author did not rush the intimacy between them; rather, she stayed true to the characters and their experiences, giving readers a realistic portrayal of life after trauma. The energy between them was so raw and intense, and each and every encounter between them is filled to the brim with tension and explosive chemistry.

When you scream and shatter and fall apart in my hands, it’ll be me who puts you back together again. You will mold only to me. You will see only me.”

The author writes with a dark edginess that completely sucks the reader into the story and doesn't let go. There were some moments in the story that were hard to read but I feel were handled so well. I especially appreciated the way Anna's healing was never glossed over. The pain that both she and Joseph experienced was instrumental to the development of their relationship. The push and pull was so well written. I absolutely loved the level of possessiveness we saw from Joseph and loved the way protecting her was more important to him than anything else.

“He’s a killer and a savior. A soldier to another, and a betrayer to all the evil I assumed he was.”

The pacing of the events in the story was perfect, as was the flow of the plot. The secondary characters from the previous books were as entertaining and fantastic as always, and the new characters were as well. Shadow Man was heartbreaking and full of angst. It was gritty and violent. It was an enthralling and powerful story that completely consumed me. And after that huge bombshell that was dropped in the Epilogue, I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the second book in this duet.

5 Shadow Man Stars

Joseph and Anna

Very rarely do I read a book that leaves me utterly speechless. I’m staring at the last page with tears in my eyes. Yup. At 4am in the morning I am sitting in my bed bawling my eyes out with no regrets. Sometimes a book just needs to hurt real good. And it did. Pain, angst and violence. Catherine Wiltcher has once again put me through the ringer; ripped my heart out and left it out to dry. Shadow Man is an emotional, incredible ride that was heart pounding and my blood was racing as it skirted along the edge of darkness. This book kept me on my toes that left me questioning everything after reading the last page. Catherine Wiltcher has created a sinister world that is undeniably a devious dark ride.

“He’s a killer and a savior. A soldier to another, and a betrayer to all the evil I assumed he was.”

Once I started Shadow Man I couldn’t put it down. I was not prepared for the love I have for Joseph & Anna’s exhilarating story. Two broken people finding solace in one another’s arms. They both carry heavy burdens, but Joseph’s demons haunt his dreams. He is tortured by the memories his past but with Anna in his life he finds a sense of peace. What I really enjoyed was that both characters struggled with their inner conflicting emotions and desires. But together they are able to keep the demons at bay. Joseph is Anna’s shield while she is his strength to keep fighting. We have already met these two in The Santiago Trilogy and we get a taste of what is to come in the Grayson Duet.

“He made me scared, more scared than I’d ever felt in my life. More scared than the night my mother died, and the cold blue walls of loneliness turned her bedroom into a prison cell. He was a beautiful savage. A terrible monster. . .”

The flow and pacing of Shadow Man was utterly perfect. This story is one of a kind, dark, gritty and unapologetic. All in all, an emotional and very different read. I enjoyed it immensely and cannot wait for book two. That CLIFFY nearly destroyed me. Dark romance lovers this is yet another book you do NOT want to miss.

Standing ovation for Shadow Man. Catherine Wiltcher has taken dark romance to a new level with this heart-wrenching and gritty book. Joseph is broken. Anna is broken. But together they are the perfect, all-consuming, ill-fated couple that will capture your heart and rip it to shreds. Wiltcher's writing is flawless and full of heat, passion, love, and a raw honesty few authors can master.

Five "loved it" stars!

Oh, I had been waiting impatiently for this one! I needed Joseph's story like I need blueberry scones. Which is to say—a lot. Because I need blueberry scones a lot.

Joseph, El Assasino, is every bit as hot (but also delightfully cold) as I knew he could be. His infatuation with Anna has only grown since the first moment he laid eyes on her during the Santiago trilogy. He saved her from a physical Hell, but he is struggling with how to save her from the trappings of the Hell in her own mind. He is used to enemies he can kill. Maim. Cut. When the enemy is figurative, and requires Anna to willingly take part in the slaying, the problems start. How can he save someone who doesn't WANT to be saved?

Or, does she?

Anna is all over the place at the beginning- apathetic, chasing the next high. Accepting the bad things that happen rather than fighting. And what she seems to be most afraid of is Joseph; her feelings for him. She is also afraid of her own brokenness; wondering if she can ever be fixed after what she endured while in captivity. So what does she do?

She runs. Right into trouble's warm, waiting arms. And her name is Viviana. Her new "friend."

“You want to disappear,” she states again, blinking slowly. “I can help you.”

Instead of a safe haven, Anna finds more danger than what she left behind.

I ran a thousand miles to escape from men exactly like them.

I loved the growth Anna experiences during this book- rising from a quivering, hollow woman into a fierce force to be reckoned with. And when she gives in to her attraction to Joseph? Explosive. Fire. Oh my. Just excuse me for a minute...

This book has it all- action, suspense, and steam. Also violence, secrets, reveals, and a twist I sure didn't see coming.

Tick.
Tick.
Boom.

I loved "seeing" the characters from the previous Santiago books. It was like seeing old friends. And Dante? He is just as hot as ever. Might be time for yet another re-read of the Santiago trilogy.

This is book one of a duet, but didn't end on a brutal cliffhanger. It ended the same way a season of Outlander ends: with a setup for the next part of the adventure. It was perfect. I am excited for the next book as opposed to on the edge of my seat and angry, left without the resolution of an intense scene. So, thank you for not doing that to us! ❤

I find that the more I read, the more fussy I get. Books that I loved a year ago just don't do it for me anymore. My list of go-to, always-good authors has dwindled. But, Catherine Wiltcher will always be on my list. I have yet to read a book of hers that didn't have me fighting sleep and flipping pages.

Highly recommended, as always. And safe even for those who are otherwise bingers since it doesn't end on a brutal cliffhanger.

As I started to write this review, I kept thinking to myself how would my words even do justice to this incredible book. I’ve been eagerly waiting for Joseph’s story and this author completely knocked it out of the park! OMG! So many descriptions come to mind like brilliant, phenomenal, unreal and so many more that I can’t even think of them all. I literally started this and refused to put it down until it was finished. You will be taken on so many dark and twisty turns, that your head will be swimming and your heart will be exploding.

Joseph is a hardened man who feels no remorse, unless it has to do with Anna. She is his Achilles heel. She is his light in the darkness. She is his salvation. But Anna has her own dark past to overcome and isn’t sure she can ever feel the same for Joseph. These two tortured souls are meant to be, I can feel it in my very heart and soul. The beginning, middle and end of their story will literally blow your mind. Especially the end! Now I can’t wait for the second part of this duet. I don’t know if I’ll be able to hold out!! Please, read this book, read this series and hold onto your emotions, as they will no doubt be affected! I cried, I held my breath and held onto hope for these two incredible characters. Absolutely phenomenal!

This book should have come with a warning - Be prepared for an emotional roller coaster.

I am still not over this story, and it's been a few days since I finished it. I am utterly speechless, and even as I write this, I am having a hard time forming my words and thoughts.

This book is just that good.

Anna Williams never asked to be a victim. Never asked to be a pawn in the middle of a war. Never asked to be protected by the man in the shadows.

Bouncing from rehab to rehab, Anna is a broken soul who is trying to put the pieces back together on her own terms. Running from the shadows and searching for her moon, Anna will have to realize that there's only so far you can go before the past and present collide.

When the teasers started to come out for this book, I had a feeling that if a book was going to wreck me, this was it. I did receive an ARC, and that's when the emotional roller coaster started. It was like catching up with old friends. We get to see a little bit of all the key players from the Santiago Trilogy without taking away anything from this story.

Since I read The Santiago trilogy a few months ago, I was interested in Joseph. He was a great second character, intense, mysterious and dangerous.

Anna and Joseph!
My god!

In the Santiago Trilogy, we come to know Anna as Eve’s best friend who ends up kidnapped and horribly abused.
She gets rescued by Joseph but not without mental scaring.

Anna is feeling lost and alone in a world that she no longer feels is the carefree and safe place that she once lived, she feels like she lost her best friend to the devil (Dante Santiago) and ends up being in and out of rehab for her well-being.
Joseph has always had an immediate attraction to her and promised himself that he would get her whole again and back to loving life. He’s made it a mission of his.
Unfortunately for him, Anna doesn’t want help and ends up running away from Joseph.
She lands her ass in Columbia. From there it’s a bit of a shit storm. She made a friend, Val, who gets her into trouble and full blown chaos that she was literally trying to run away from.
“Tonight, we’re standing on the wrong side of a line that good girls don’t cross, but I’m guessing neither of us has been one of them for a while. It’s how far we venture into the dark, dark wood beyond that’s the defining question.”
Anna and Val both end up on the run from Columbia Cartel and well.. let’s just say it’s full of suspense and chaotic drama. This book was amazing.
The twist at the end of the book shook me. I didn’t expect it.

What I loved about this book as we see glimpses of Joseph’s life before he was a US Marine with Dante. And it is pretty dark and heavy and emotional. His childhood wasn’t easy. It wasn’t pretty.

“How can a man as damaged and dangerous as him spin lines like Shakespeare? I believed in every cadence. I rebuilt from them; I forgave him. He reached inside of my chest, took a firm hold of what was left of me, and then sculpted it in his image.”
I cannot wait for a book two!

Violence, Sex Trafficking, Cartels, Deception, and Deceit.... this dark read has it all! I have read all of this authors books; however, this one is by far my favorite!

Anna has survived six months of hell after being kidnapped and put in a sex trafficking ring. Joseph has been her shadow since the day he rescued her. Anna uses alcohol and drugs to cope with the aftermath and Joseph sends her to counseling and rehab hoping it will help her heal. The only problem is Anna fights him and herself at every turn. Joseph wants her to heal so he can show her there is more to sex than violence. Anna won’t have anything to do with any kind of emotion so she runs. The only problem is her shadow man will always follow.

All I can say is I could not put this book down. I know I smiled, laughed and cried while reading this book. Joseph and Anna together made my heart break and sing at the same time. There’s so much raw emotion between these two characters that I’m still reeling from what I’ve read. So heartbreakingly beautiful!

I loved how Dante and Eve were incorporated into this book and a new character Viiviana emerges. I can’t wait for the next book in this series!

Way to write Catherine!!

Shadow Man is absolutely a brilliant follow-up story of the Santiago Trilogy and Devils & Dust by Catherine Wiltcher.

Following the Santiago storyline, this book is so unexpected in terms of turn of events, story build-up and breathtaking climax. This book is heartfelt prose and so much more.

Basically, you'll witness a metamorphosis in the middle of chaos and mayhem. It's the kind of transition you would be cheering at once you read it. And I loved it!

Both main characters appeal to me sooo much. Their fire may dim to embers but they still ablaze, waiting for a new fuel to ignite their brightness again. They totally own my heart!

This book does not end with a cliffhanger but a 'HFN' ending. But.. It ended with something that makes the plot thickens.

Dark, naughty, sweet, suspenseful, frustrating, swoony, melodic. Catherine Wiltcher continues to prove the characters use her as a conduit to tell their stories. The story of Joseph and Anna is rich with imagery, complexity, and spirit. It pulled every emotion from me, but not gratuitously. Wiltcher writes with an economy that trusts my imagination to dress the stage while she directs the players. Their voices are unique and genuine and she writes then with humor and compassion. I finished the book with a full heart and my bloodthirst satisfied. This is Grayson, after all.

A complete story: there is a teaser for book 2 of the duet, but no cliffhanger. Highly recommend. 14/10

This author sure knows how to mafia!!
I have decided to binge a few of her books to make myself feel better, and boy is that kind of a mistake as all adulting has flown out the window for the day and I seem to be adding more books to my insane list rather than taking them away.
Like Anna I won't have one single regret about it either.
What a book!!
I was transfixed from cover to cover, hence my almost involuntarily need for more. The characters and plot will hold you hostage, refusing to let you go.
Definitely recommend.
On to Devils & Dust I go before starting the second part of the duet.

Wow. What just happened?

If you’re like me, you’ve been devouring the Santiago Trilogy story arc and couldn’t wait to dive into Joseph and Anna’s story. Oh, did I get what I came for – stellar writing, characters with heart and depth plus… A darkness and pain I wasn’t prepared for. At all. Each scene ping-ponged from one life-threatening situation to the next, with friends and enemies sometimes wearing similar masks…

Dim. Shadowy. Starless. Gloomy. Overcast. Sunless. Yes, I googled similar words for dark because my own couldn’t come up with enough to describe it. Dark, yes, but also suspenseful, full of angst and surprisingly, a beautiful (if unconventional) love story. Anna was thrust from one nightmare to the next yet even as she and Joseph battled to survive, love found a way. There were no victims or saviors but instead, heroes and heroines you cheered on. And just prayed they made it…

Not for the faint of heart, this story, this series, is all about what goes on in the shadows and the incredible people who live, love and survive in them… I can’t wait for more!

Wonderful Series Continuance.

Anna is a broken and beaten mess and is going down a road that will lead her to nothing but death. But, a man she calls Shadow Man keeps rescuing her, and she wants him to go away and leave her alone. So, to get away, she does what she does best. Runs. Who knew that the one place she runs to is the place he knows all too well.
Joseph, Shadow Man, can't get Anna out of his blood. He's responsible for her plight. Joseph, not a gentleman, a killer with no thought or regrets. So why can't he get Anna out of his dream, mind, and soul? When she runs, she goes to the one place he never wanted to revisit, and Anna is in more danger than ever.
When Anna and Joseph collide deep into a drug-infested country, Anna finds her way, and Joseph is only there to make sure she has back up.
Shadow Man is the start of a new series, and I couldn't love it more. With the edge of the seat action, deep characters, feeling, emotions, and more is what makes this book a great read. Well done, Miss. Wiltcher, J@AA.

The Santiago Cartel continues

"Because I will hang my promise around my neck for all to see, my Luna girl. I will hang it there to remind you of just how flicking committed I am to it."

That about sums up this eposode

Anna is so lost.
Trapped in the darkness of her memories. Its easier sometimes to believe the bad -
To drown the pain - than it is to face it.
To fight your way out of the darkness not knowing what is on the otherside.

But her Shadow-
he is keeping his promise.
He will be there keeping her safe until she is ready to step into the light.

Shots fired!
This was intense from the moment our girl picked up that $20.00 to the final pull of the trigger.
Each page revealed another twist,
Another betrayal.
Another wound.
I couldn't look away.

An insidious blend of suspense and romance.
How Wiltcher balances it so flawlessly amazes me.

Dont pass this one up and if you haven't read Dante's story - might I suggest grabbing the set?
You won't be disappointed.

WOW! My head is still spinning and my jaw dropped after reading the last page of ‘Shadow Man. What such an amazing book! I had high expectations for this title after reading and loving the Santiago Trilogy and Catherine Wiltcher not only has fulfilled them, she has exceed them.

I loved this book from page one till the end. Absolutely brilliant writing. ‘Shadow Man’ is an intense, powerful and thrilling ride. Joseph and Anna have troubled background. They both have ugly demons to fight. It’s not easy at all to find peace for their souls and bodies but they’re stubborn, brave and more crazy about each other than they even realize.

I couldn’t put this book down. Great world building. Everything just played out in my mind like a movie (I wish ‘Shadow Man’ could be turn into one!). I love hot alpha males and Joseph is one of a kind. Not to mention his boss, what a team they make! I really like their dynamic.

Although you don’t need to read the Santiago trilogy to fully understand this book, I highly recommend it. Not just because they (‘Hearts of Darkness’, ‘Hearts Divine’ and ‘Hearts of Fire’) are an outstanding reading but because also they’ll help you to enjoy this book a lot better. You’re going to love and sometimes hate the characters but definitely you’ll want to meet them.

I can’t wait for Grayson Duet book 2!
