Leicester City Development squad member Khanya Leshabela has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract.

The 19-year-old forward featured as an unused substitute for City in the Carabao Cup against Southampton earlier this season and has impressed in the under-23s under Steve Beaglehole.

The South African has signed a new contract that commits his future to the club until 2022.

Leshabela sprung to prominence in the under-18s last season and was nominated for the youth team player of the year.

Leshabela usually plays on the flanks but can also operate as a number ten, and has linked up well with City winger Fousseni Diabate when he has played in the under-23s this season.

Diabate is now expected to join Turkish side Sivasspor on loan as manager Claude Puel continues to rebalance his squad this January.
