KfW IPEX-Bank has been an active player in the ECA-backed business (Export Credit Agency “ECA”) worldwide for decades, which is in line with our mandate to promote European goods & services. KfW IPEX-Bank offers excellent coverage of the main ECAs in key OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) export countries as we have a thorough understanding of ECAs and their financing requirements ensuring that the project secures the most advantageous level of support. In 2020, KfW IPEX-Bank made new commitments of some EUR 3.5bn for loans which were covered by an ECA.
In particular we would like to highlight our deep relationship with Euler Hermes (being the German ECA) and several other European ECAs as well.
ECA backed financings, especially in the large Infrastructure & Mobility projects could provide a secure, long-term financing solution at competitive interest rates. The Webinar is aimed at providing an overview and benefits of ECA financing structures along with some examples of international financings, where the structures have (or could have) been successfully used.
