Deceit

Rate this book
Emmy Lou Rhodes was mine, but she didn’t want anyone to know.
She kept me a dirty secret, locked up like a caged animal so that no one would discover what we had done.
I’m a man with demons who demand for me to heed caution.
Yet I didn’t yield when I had the perfect opportunity to swallow her whole.
I was her dirty little secret.
She was my everything.
But then she gave someone what I always wanted, her life, and then she destroyed me all in one night.

Kace Bishop is a man I fell in love with when I knew better.
He could never love a girl like me.
Overbearing, opinionated, and, sure-shit, not going to take crap with the men I work with.
I warned myself it wasn’t a good idea, but when he asked, I left without caring how hard I’d fall.
He couldn’t give me what I needed.
So I moved on and made the worse mistake of my life. I always thought Bishop would destroy me.
Turns out, I’m the villain in this story.

What an amazing, emotional, gripping story! This book took its toll on my emotions! (Like I need a drink to recover!) I only hope I can do this justice because I'm not sure I have the right words to articulate what this book did to me.

I want to share all the things and my reactions to everything that happened but doing so would take away the same reactions from someone that hasn't read this. Just know that you need to go in blind. And that it's dark! And that it will push boundaries!

At the beginning, when Hazel Grace takes us back to that heart stopping, emotional scene from Overcast, but only from a different POV, the emotions I felt from back then came flooding back all over again.

Surprise after freaking surprise! Mills said it best when he said, "Your what now?". You would think the bomb Hazel dropped at the beginning would take the cake but nope, she just keeps giving them to us and some feel like they are up the @$$!

This author is good at making me want to throw my kindle at the wall. With Deceit, I was constantly feeling this way. She's good at ripping my heart out, stomp on it a few times, and somehow put it back together again and has me begging for her to do it all over again with the next one.

Bishop and Emmy - These two keep self-destructing their could be relationship. Each is responsible and has a hand in why they can't work and I had a hard time putting the blame on one more than the other.

They are opposite as night and day and yet they work. Bishop is the dark to Emmy's light. She's the noise to his silence. Anyone looking in would say they couldn't work out. Little do they know...

Now - I'm over here despising this one character and then all of a sudden, I'm given reasons NOT to hate this character. I don't want to but I know I will probably end up crying for them or cheering them on at some point in this series. (And yes I'm rolling my eyes as I write this because I don't forgive easily.)

Hazel Grace is one of the better authors that can write the gritty, raw, in your face scenes that will push you to the limit. She finds a way to lure me in and draw out these emotions from me.

I'm so excited and anxious for what she has in store for these B723 characters. They are unlike any I've read before and, as a sane person, I probably shouldn't be as attached to them as I am but I want to know all their secrets and what lies in wait for them.

DECEIT book 2 in the B723 Series.

“In a way, he’s my sanity to my craziness.”

Another amazing book by Hazel.
I won’t lie though I have whiplash from this book. My rating changed 3 times while reading. I normal know early on if I love a book. And I did love this book was of the best book I’ve read in ages. Not that any of the other books weren’t amazing just this one hit the stop. The world, the plot is brilliant.
This book is even better than book 1 Overcast. I did have one issue which was one of the triggers. This book is super dark so be aware. Some abuse takes place in this book. But know it’s not dark all the way through its a very heavy hearted love story. The men in the book are light hearted and funny, I laughed a lot. The balance of everything was spot on by the end.
I’m giving it a 4.5⭐️

Little about this book- B723 are a family/ team who protect there country. They are assassins. They work very close together. It’s Marty, Bishop, Mills, Kyson, Emmy and Blue. I believe they will all get a book.

This is Bishop and Emmys book. Emmy kept Bishop as her secret for years and he thought he wasn’t good enough for the Hamptons queen.
They have a very complicated relationship. There’s an ex, a new boyfriend, it has everything lol. Even though they spend a lot of time apart in this book when there together it is smoking hot 🥵 he is everything in the bedroom. 😆

If you read Overcast you would remember Bishop takes off randomly and he’s not really in the first book. You find out why in this book. It’s shocking, truly shocking. The man is so closed off. He has a very damaged past. He can’t communicate and the person who he’s need to communicate is Emmy, because he’s going to loose her forever. But all he’s does is push her away until she ends up in another mans arms. For years she chases him and he’s a prick, like the way her speaks to her and the things he says, I just wanted to scream, very frustrating man that’s for sure.
She’s just keeps waiting for him. Don’t be fooled he does redeem himself.

So much happens in this book. Every chapter something is going on. It’s 600 pages of suspense 😂 when you think you know what’s going to happen you are so wrong lol. Go in blind, read the Overcast FIRST.!

“He has the emotional availability of a fucking rock,”

Now I need to read wills book.!!

BISHOP. Bishop is FINALLY released into the world! Oh yeah, and Emmy too! I have been waiting forever to express my love for this book, and Hazel Grace as well!

Bishop is my man. There was always something forbidden about him. The secrets that shadowed him and followed him wherever he went were strong with him. Oh gosh, I sound like Yoda now, ‘the shadows with this one are strong’. 🤷🏻‍♀‍🤦🏻‍♀‍ As any character of Hazel’s, he has baggage, is complex, and emotionally tortured, but this is where Hazel shines. These flawed and imperfect people become human, expressive, trusting, and emotional. Bishop and Emmy’s journey is NOT an easy one, but it is a phenomenal one to read about. This couple felt like one of my good friends and I was along for the ride. This is probably where most people wanted to throttle and choke Bishop for his ‘Bishop ways’, but to me it made me love him even more.

Despite issues (😏), these two are the perfect complementary souls they were made to be. Deceit shines and shows the wild roller coaster and emotional terrorism that Hazel Grace excels in. Be ready for drama, romance, suspense and of course, laughter.

RATING: 4.5⭐️

The push and pull between Emmy and Bishop mixed in with so many secrets, lies, and deceptions left me thirsting for more with each page. I needed my desired happy ending for this one so bad it was screaming at me to keep reading.

We met Emmy Lou Rhodes and Kace Bishop in Overcast and with the way that story ended I seriously NEEDED more from this group of assassins. I was intrigued with the way they tortured and maimed as a collective group.

I don’t even think I can classify the relationship these two shared. Coworkers turned lovers who became frenemies with a touch of Bish being a bully. I love the way the author was able to capture the emotions that come with their unconventional relationship. Life isn’t always black and white and living in the grey can be torturous and nerve wracking.

“…𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙝𝙚’𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚, 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙝𝙚 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙧𝙤𝙠𝙚 𝙪𝙥 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙢𝙚.” -𝙀𝙢𝙢𝙮

“𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙖 𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙤𝙣 𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙜𝙜𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙤 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙩'𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙪𝙨𝙝 𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙙𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙩.” -𝘽𝙞𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥

Bishop & Emmy’s relationship showcases how love, marriage, and family can be complicated. The lives of adults don’t always make sense. Sometimes you’ve been hurt so badly in the past that admitting you’re in love again is unfathomable, even when your soul knows the person in front of you is your life.

“𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙧 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘼𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙪𝙖𝙡. 𝙄’𝙢 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙤𝙣 𝙚𝙙𝙜𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙚 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙨 𝙢𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙮 𝙢𝙪𝙙𝙙𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙖𝙧𝙚.” -𝙀𝙢𝙢𝙮

The relationships interloper Alexander plays a larger role than I foresaw and I quickly fell for his charm when we met him. He’s charismatic, attentive, emotionally evolved, secure in himself and his wants, and 100% not the person I thought. Once that switch is flipped this dude is psycho!! And the justice he’s served was befitting his true nature.

This would have been a solid five-star read if I didn’t feel certain thoughts and emotions were beaten to death with reiterations. And even with that being said I know this will be a series I reread because I love the characters so much!!

YOU ARE SLEEPING ON THIS AUTHOR!! Not just if you love dark romance and haven’t one clicked yet-I’m certain that Hazel Grace fits into your box of authors you enjoy, as this book includes many, many of your most favorite things. This truly was a rollercoaster, and filled with suspense that could rival some of the best authors. The first book in this series for me started kind of jumpy-she came off of a story which was so opposite of this series, maybe I didn’t realize that the author was a total chameleon and can adapt and rock out writing so many different emotional stories. Some, darker than others. Emmy and Bishop were the epitome of people that really balanced each other out. I felt like they were so opposite, yet they were written so well, their chemistry was just so deep rooted that they just absolutely WERKED. This is a five star from me-and I’m excited to see what this author has for us in the future!

Whoa! This had me on a rollercoaster of emotions that I didn't know which way it was going to go from one page to the next. The author does a great job of keeping you on your toes while also having you root for Emmy and Bishop. I could not put this down.

complicated relationship is putting it mildly.

To say Bishop & EmmaLou has a complicated relationship is putting it mildly. They’re both headstrong and refuse to give an inch, which doesn’t end well for either them. Decisions are made and have dire consequences for them.

One aspect that occurred and they both did I wasn’t to pleased with, and kinda had me out of sorts (only cause it’s a trope I’m absolutely not fond of in no shape or form).

Can’t wait for Book 3 😊

I was intrigued about Bishop at the end of Bonafide. This book was amazing...to have a story involving Bishop and Emmy was just so good...talk about Alpha Male and a no holds bar woman knocking heads was just wonderful. I really love the world built around all the characters and I cannot wait to read Mills' book next!

Kick ass series. You won’t be disappointed when you read this. Bishop is my favorite, after Marty of course. It’s Mills next?

Wow!! Bishop & Emmy!!

This book is full of suspense and angst!! Hazel sent me on a whirlwind of suspense. I didn't know what was going to happen next. I was definitely surprised by so much of this book. So many unexpecting turns of events. Bishop has a dark difficult past he wasn't willing to share of open up about. Emmy just wanted him to open up and admit his love for her. These two fought like crazy but their hate sex was hotter. Get this book for all the dark crazy world of B723!!

I’m literally shocked beyond belief at how talented Hazel Grace is, every time I read one of her books she always leaves me stunned… the stories are just incredible and out of this world, she has such an amazing mind as I have no idea how she comes up with everything that she so carefully plans and writes. I’ve been following her since her first book and honest she just gets even more talented with each book, her writing is like Pepper Winters or Jessica Hawkins level and they are both some pretty huge and talented authors. I’m literally in love with her work and I can never get enough of it, and this time she managed to suck me and just throw so many obstacles out there that I had no idea which direction the book was going in, but I was constantly trying to guess, but would then get thrown.
I was intrigued with what was going on with Bishop as he literally took off in the first book and no one could figure out what was going on with him. So it was a shock to see what actually did happen and take place with him as he’s such a dark, broody, mysterious character. I could understand him being closed off, he’d been through a lot but then you’ve got his inner demons that he’s battling constantly and it’s heart-breaking having him go through them as all you want is for him to be happy and actually have a life of his own.
Emmy, she’s just incredible, I feel for her and just wished that sometimes she would have just made certain decisions or went ahead a different way. It’s clear how much she loves Bishop and she just doesn’t want him hurt, or to go down a dark path.
I was honestly shocked that there was even an inkling between them, but that made me love them both even more.
I loved all the twists and turns that Hazel wrote, if anything I think this might be her best book yet.
I honestly couldn’t fault it even though at times I did just want to scream for what was happening.
I’m excited to see where she takes the next book in this series as it’s been one hell of a ride and I’m just hooked.
I’d recommend giving this a read because Hazel is just an incredible writer and honestly, I think you may need her writing in your life. But that’s just my personal opinion.

With Bishop missing, Emmy took it upon herself to look after his dog, to send him daily updates and try her hardest to figure out what was going on. Even though they both tend to just argue when they’re in close proximities, she can’t help herself for wanting him, needing him. So the fact he’s not bothering with acknowledging her at all hurts her. She’s determined to see if he’s okay, but when she finds him he doesn’t want her there and pushes her away along with taking his dog back.
Emmy is the type of girl who tends to get in people’s business’ but when it comes to her own, she would much rather keep it quiet…
Soon enough the team are back together, but still things are strained between Emmy and Bishop, yet neither one of them are willing to back down and admit their feelings. With Emmy doing everything she can to try and set herself free, it’s not easy as Bishop won’t let her go as he holds the key to it all.
With them both keeping a secret from the rest of their team, things start getting a whole lot worse when Emmy ends up making the worse mistake possible, but it’s not until it’s too late that she sees what’s happening.
Will Emmy be in safe hands or will she end up in the arms of the wrong side completely??
Will either Emmy or Bishop ever man up and realise that they’re made for each other or will they keep pushing back and forcing the other higher their guards up even more than they are????

Why is the universe doing this to me?! I know I bitched about the bad books I was constantly getting lately but I think reading the ones that have great potential but turn into a messy disaster is somehow worse.

I loved Overcast by this author and ever since Bishop appeared as the dark grump asshole in that book, I was super intrigued to read this book and Bishop's love story.

The first 40% was a-fucking-mazing! The intensity and emotions of the story kept hammering at me and bringing my own emotions to the surface every five minutes. I actually experienced several pangs in my chest from all the bottled up angst in Bishop and Emmy that was set loose.

But then came Alexander. And my hopes rose. I think that was the first mistake of mine. I thought this would be the thing that would make Bishop realise that Emmy belonged him, only as long as SHE wanted and that he should atleast fight for her, if not grovel for all the shit he put her through.

I was so tightly coiled thinking "Emotions, blast of emotions, angst, love and then something more unexpected but amazing. They will be a team, a grumpy one but a team. And sweet groveling, hot fights and feral make up sex".

But then came Crazy Alexander. And it was so goddamn sudden. And jarring. And disappointing. It felt as if by making Alexander the bad guy, the author tried to forcefully shove Bishop and Emmy back together. And it was also disappointing that Emmy couldn't catch on to it even though she was a trained assassin. Alexander even met the whole B723 and they didn't think something could be life-threateningly wrong either.
Also, did I mention it was sudden and shocking?....in a really really bad, unbelievable way. Like ....imagine if Joker was your husband (yes, the joker from Batman). Now you know his brand of crazy but what if one day, he comes home dressed in a dashing suit, without any face paint and with a regular hair colour...and he brings groceries saying "you go rest, I'll make dinner tonight". Unbelievably weird right?! Now you might get it.

But then, I got over crazy Alexander thinking....fine, so what if it was sudden, B723 will kill him and Bishop will launch his own brand of fire crazy on Alexander. Emmy will be his.

But .......then came the Stupid move of Emily faking her own death:
1) It was fucking extra as hell, unnecessary, overdramatic and well...idiotic.
2) Now , the reason it was idiotic was because she wanted to "protect" her family....I guess we can and should respect that right?!....I would have, If her family wasn't a bunch of trained elite assassins. Fuck outta here.
3) It was overdramatic and unnecessary because the author wanted to "redeem" Bishop while simultaneously punishing him for all the asshole bullshit he put Emmy through. That could have been done several different other ways than this stupid one.
For example- Emmy could have been made into a character who has a backbone to stand up for herself and tell Bishop outright that he was emotionally hurting her and then distance herself from him. Or..... maybe breakdown from the mental pain and toxicity Bishop was inflicting on her so that Bishop could realise his stupid ass mistakes, feel guilt (biggest pain ever) and grovel. Etc etc....I could go on.

It's painful to say I detached from the story after she faked her own death. I did finish the book but I wasn't feeling it anymore.

The pros included the first 40% of the book, Blue....who was a badass crazy bitch I just fell in love with, and Bishop...who was fucking insane and dark and broody and painful. He was amazing 🖤 I loved his method of torture the most tbh😈😈

Deceit by Hazel Grace lived upto the title for sure. There are so many layers of secrets in this explosive romance that I am not sure that I have uncovered all even after finishing it. This story will twist you. It will fill your heart with rage, angst and lust. Your heart will never stop beating wildly and your soul won't escape without scars.

This is the second book in B723 series and can be read as a standalone. B723 is a secret organisation of government assassins who work outside the traditional lines. This is the story of Emmy Lou and Cace Bishop. Started as teammates and then everything went mayhem. This is probably the most dramatic and volatille and heartbreaking journey to happily ever after that I read in a while.

So what can I tell you about the story line? Nothing. Because you need to go in blind. Completely blind. This whole story is a crooked and perfect bond between a group of differently wired and talented people. B723 is a family kept together with loyalty, friendship and dedication. It is unreal. And among everything lives Emmy and Bishop's twisted love-hate-lust story. Emmy is an amazing woman. She is smart, extremely talented with hacking, sassy and fierce. But what makes her the glue of B723 is her compassion. She is stubborn to invade everyone's life and adamant to pry open every closed heart. And her love makes a difference with the bunch of men living dangerously without any remorse. And that's why her love for Bishop hurt so deep. Because Cace Bishop doesn't know emotions. Well he does know, but he cannot express. He had a dark and violent childhood and his past has wrecked him thoroughly. Oh my heart is weeping for this edgy, volatile, reckless and gorgeous man.He doesn't know how to keep someone like Emmy even when he loves her so much that he cannot breathe without her. So it's a standstill. And then it's not. The author starts throwing twists, obstacles, secrets, mindf***s, suspense, mystery, adrenaline bombs and everything at me at the same time and she never stopped till the last chapter. I mean it's a miracle that I am still standing with a bruised heart. The emotional storm was insane. Emmy and Bishop are not normal people. And so their love cannot be normal. Two intense people with intense feels and crazy passion means war. They are going to tear each other apart and break their hearts viciously and yet make you feel this is what we call as true love.

While reading Deceit by Hazel Grace, I felt completely unhinged and unmoored. Sometimes the angst and adrenaline rush became so hard that I wanted the torture to stop but then I never really wanted it to end. The author pushed my limits and broke my barriers.

Ho-ly sh-t!

I did not see this one coming.

And so aptly named too.

Geezus.Freaking.Christ.

Look - just fiy - sure, I might be biased: I'll read everything Hazel Grace creates because been there, done that and regret absolutely nothing but please, believe me when I tell you, you will not want to miss the opportunity to jump on the angst train that is "Deceit"... it just might be your gateway read into her gem-filled world.

Ever since I read "Catfish" and "Bonafide" I've been curious about Emmy because... well, she didn't fit the mold. Like, any mold. At all.
Then "Overcast" released and immediately I wanted to know more about B723 and its members.

I got the best combination of both I could've ever asked for.

Bishop and Emmy's story is a bumpy rollercoaster ride from page 1; I felt constantly torn between wanting to angrily close my kindle - however that's done - or continuing reading, because... uh, duh.

Obviously the latter one was the victor because how could it not, but not without me scowling the whole way through and then bawling my eyes out nonstop for the last 30% of the book.

Their chemistry? Out. Of. This. World.
Their bond is unfathomable and their back-and-forth, the perfect mixture of ever-present sexual tension, emotional turmoil, and a long list of things that led to broken hearts and shattered hope.

To say their need for each other is intense it's probably the understatement of the century.

Talk about book withdrawal.

I don't think I need to say but we all know it's coming, so here it is: I need the next book, ASAP.
B723 has reading material to last me a lifetime. Please... I'm here for all of it.

I love how much we go to experience the mechanics of these characters' relationships; how close they are and where their loyalties more commonly stand.

Mills and Scarlett? I don't know if that's where were going next or if we're going that at all but either way, bring it on.

Kyson feels like a heartbreaking story just waiting on my path.

And Blue? Oh, yes.
Just give it to me already.
I can't wait to dive in head first.

Honestly, I don't know what else to say.
So yeah, guess that's it.

La-Di-F---ing-Da, miss.
Well done.
You got me.
Again.

And I freaking love you for it.

See you soon.

One thing I absolutely adore about this author is that you’ll never know what your walking into. In the beginning you’ll think you know what’s going to happen then out of no where she’ll take your heart and brutally squeeze it to the point of bursting before giving you those happy butterflies of a HEA. But that’s also what makes these books so freaking good. It’s not a cookie cutter love story. This love story is messy and flawed between Emmy and Bishop.

Bishop is so complex and in his own mind about his past that it becomes impossible to let his guard down around the one person who has made him feel alive. While Emmy struggles to understand and has her own insecurities to deal with. I’m not going to lie I wanted to strangle these two a majority of the time. Both are so stubborn and set into their ways that they were constantly fighting their feelings out of pride. But when things start to further wedge themselves between the pair it also causes them to face their feelings about each other. But then tragedy strikes and lies are told, and for this couple love may not be enough this time.

This story laughter and romance, suspense, and drama. I loved seeing previous characters like Wade and Reagan, Marty, and the rest of the B723 group. Just like any other book from Hazel Grace be prepared for an unexpected ride.

YOU 👏GUYS👏 DON'T👏 SLEEP 👏ON 👏HAZEL 👏GRACE... 👏I had been. Deceit was the of her works that I've read. It took my heart, stomped on it, and shoved it back into my chest. There's so much angst.. so much emotion in its 75 CHAPTERS! I still cannot believe that I didn't cry reading this.😂

There were so many times I wanted to insert myself into this book to walk Kace Bishop on the head and yell at him to tell Emmy he loves her. The man has loved her for so long that he even drunkenly married her in Vegas!

Yet, he never tells her and pushes her into the arms of another man.

So, Emmy begins to date a CEO named Alexander. This relationship creates further internal turmoil between Bish and her. They can't seem to let each other go. Bishop won't divorce her no matter how many times she delivers divorce papers at his doorstep. Her relationship with Alexander advances into something that would keep her tethered to him forever but... it takes a morbid turn.

It is then when Kace realizes that he's lost.

I don't even know what else to say. Hazel Grace, you did a marvelous job. You kept me at the edge of seat on several scenes.

4 Stars!

Having read Ms.Grace's work before I've been looking forward to picking up more of her books! As soon as I heard about this one it had me curious and I couldn't wait to start it! I stayed up all night reading it and couldn't put it down until I reached the end. I really enjoyed this story!

Emmy and Bishop's story is a journey that is far from easy. These two dealt with pain, emotions, and realness that got to me. I swear these two put my heart through it all in ways It never had been before. I felt every bit of their journey, from the frustration all the way to the truths in their souls.

I was on the edge of my seat throughout, wondering what was going to happen next with every page turn. I really liked what the other characters brought to the story as well!

With Deceit, Ms.Grace brought the dark, the emotion, and grit in the most unique of ways! This book and it's characters left their marks on my book loving heart for sure. I can't wait to go back and read the first book, Overcast! ❤

Every time I read a new book from Hazel Grace, I'm simply blown away by her talent in penning a story that 110% grips me from the jump. Deceit has topped all the previous books I've read by her, and trust me when I saw that I've loved all of them that I experienced. Bishop & Emmy's journey had me all in despite all of the times that I wanted to choke them out completely since they have this whole shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to each other, and man were they very frustrating more than once LOL! I know they're complete opposites that normally wouldn't work on paper but what does the paper know amirite?! Good thing there's a lot of twists & turns to get the f-bombs dropping so I didn't spend all of my time calling them names throughout, but don't be fooled, I LOVED them hard at the end of the day. I LOVE this series so much so I certainly CANNOT WAIT for more, and yes I realize that I'm 100% being vague but I'm not coming off any more detail which means you'll have to hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

To say that I have been anticipating Bishop and Emmy's book would be an understatement. B's entire existence captured my attention from the very beginning in Overcast. (Book 1 of the B723 series) Ms. Grace did not disappoint at all, she delivered pure PERFECTION. I hung on every single word, the angst, the steam, the action all perfectly woven together to create a phenomenal story you won't forget.

The chemistry between Emmy and Bishop was pure FIREEEE. I literally lived for every single scene they were together, the push and pull between them was absolutely delicious. I'll be honest there were sooo many times I wanted to kill them but I still love them. Their journey is not an easy one but it's their story and I loved experiencing it with them.

I loved every single second of being back in the B723 world. The love and respect each one of these characters holds for one another is so inspiring and always gives me all the feels. If you haven't started this series I highly suggest you give it shot, SO WORTH IT!

Top read for May

Wow this book was fantastic!

Emmy and Bishop they love each other but don't communicate it well. They each have their own demons and pasts, they deal with it differently and mostly hurt each otherand ppl they love...There were moments I wanted to reach into the book shake and smack them..lol  Their story keeps you on the edge of your seat, nail biting torture trying to figure out what is going to happen next, and what happens its always unexpected...this is a real page turner,  you won't put it down... I read this in one day...I was part of their "assassin and hacker" world and loved every second.

The storyline and character's development was full and on point. You'll feel so much from angst, heat, passion and love. There maybe some little triggers so be aware...
This is definitely one of my top reads of May 2021! I cant wait for more family fun 😉 from the B723 family.

Oh wow this book! I loved it! The tension. The heat. The drama. The twists and turns! I enjoyed book 0ne in the B723 world, but I loved this one even more.

The plot is wild. There were so many twists and so many moments that made me want to just throw my Kindle at the wall. There was never a dull moment and I could not put it down. I loved the characters too. Emmy is awesome, alth0ugh there was more than one moment where I wanted to smack her. Bishop is such a dark and broody guy, and I loved getting his back story and seeing his development. And Mills is still my favorite. I need a Mills book right now!!

I love the found family trope, and that's exactly what B723 is. A very murdery little family. But the way they all love and care for each other is great. I'm so ready for more in this world!!

Definitely check this series out if you like dark and complex romance that will keep you begging for more!

WOW! I don't know what else to say. Hazel Grace never ceases to amaze me with her intense, gripping, angsty, and emotional plots. This is a dark read but oh my gosh, it is an all-consuming, must-read. I was completely captured from the start. It begins with a mic-drop moment and these moments keep coming. I was on the edge of my seat, having no idea what to expect. There were times that I wanted to look away but I could not stop reading until the end. I loved the multidimensional and complicated characters. Bishop & Emmy's chemistry is off the charts! I loved their banter and the sexual tension is high. I couldn't get enough! This is not for the faint of heart. The angst is high but I loved it. I have a serious book hangover but it is worth every single second!

Emmy Lou is one of my favorite female characters. Emmy Lou is not your typical government assassin. Hazel makes you feel like you are part of the group and are in the world of B723. I never thought I would want to be in a "family" of assassins but Hazel makes you feel they are you best friends and family and your right beside them through out the book.

Bishop and Emmy Lou and two people who know what they want but don't always know how to show it. These two are perfect for each other and and one of my favorite couples of 2021.

Deceit keeps you on the edge of your seat, trying to figure out what is around the next corner, and believe me you wont know what happens until it hits you! I cant wait for more of the B723 family.

Hazel Grace didn't hold any punches with Emmy Lou and Kace Bishop and I LOVED it!!!!! Emmy's badassness intrigued me ever since I read Catfish. Deceit just further proves why she is my favorite, well besides Mills, member B726!!!! Kace Bishop, I loved reading the different layers to this stubborn, jealous beautiful character.

Deceit is pure fire from the start and all the way through the end. Expect the unexpected and you will not be disappointed. This book is full of some heavy steamy moments, Oh Shit WTF moments and crying moments. These two are stubborn as hell and they both refuse to admit to the other, but when things take a dangerous turn all bets are off.

An unputdownable book thats worth every page that I couldn't put down!!

Absolutely amazing. I devoured this story. Bishop and Emmy's relationship is a constant tug of war, and while I loved Bishop, I also spent a good amount of time hating him. I was on the fence about Emmy and the way she handled things, but then I put myself in her shoes, and figured I would have done the same. It is an emotional roller coaster, with twist and turns that you never see coming. It was gritty, raw, sexy, and I can't wait to see who's story is next.

Wow! Hazel went to some dark place while writing the gem. I wasn't sure if I was going to like Bishop. How ever his loyalty for his family, team, and Emmy Lou changed that. We as readers get to see a whole new side to Bishop in this book. He is still an alpha male badass type, but we get to see tiny moments of the softer side. I really enjoyed reading those moment. DECEIT does not skimp on the action either. There is loads of intense and shocking scenes.

Again, 4 stars for the suspense and story line, but I have some trouble with the writing sometimes. It could use a better proofreader/editor. I still had to go straight to the next in the series.
