Zocial launches a SUPER APP for the Istiqlal Mosque Community
In August 2020, as part of the Zocial SUPER APP Network, the E-Istiqlal SUPER APP was launched in partnership DOKU to serve Southeast Asia’s largest mosque — Istiqlal. E-Istiqlal SUPER APP suite of services was curated to empower community members to easily connect with their community network and enable their economy to thrive. DOKU provides the payment gateway for fintech and commerce services within the app. Both Zocial and DOKU strive to reach and serve the unbanked, underbanked, and underserved community members. The launch of the E-Istiqlal SUPER APP was announced at a special event in Jakarta with the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia Fachrul Raziand, Chairman of CT Corp Chairul Tanjung, and many other VIP members in attendance.
Some of the featured advantages of the SUPER APP are:
- Religious channels that contain Islamic content, such as prayer schedules, Islamic study videos, sermon collections, activities, and mosque information.
- Fintech services in the form of digital wallets (e-wallets) that can be used for online transactions, such as online shopping, monthly bills payments, topping up pulses/data packages, donations, and transactions at outlets/stores using the QRIS scan method.
- A custom social media feed (social messaging) where the Istiqlal Mosque congregation can interact through posting content.
- A unique marketplace enabled for E-Istiqlal application users who want to buy or sell goods and services online through the mobile commerce application.
- A Covid-19 Channel featuring the latest information about the Covid-19 pandemic. It is also equipped with Zocial’s EpiPath features that can be used as a joint preventive measure through early detection using proximity and contact tracing methods, self-reporting, and tracing dashboard with heat maps.
Amid the pandemic we’re experiencing now, this application will make it easier for users, not only from the Istiqlal Mosque congregation but all Indonesian people to access Islamic content typically available to the Istiqlal Mosque, while appreciating its convenience and digital services for everyday activities.
DOKU Chief Operating Officer Nabilah Alsagoff added that the use of religious community application enriched with features to support online social activities will make it easier for the Istiqlal Mosque congregation to enjoy the latest content and stay connected to one another. In addition, the support for the digital wallet feature in the E-Istiqlal application will further increase the use case of this application, where various online transactions can be made via each smartphone.
