Construction of PP-SHV Expressway 60% Complete

Construction of the US$-2 billion expressway connecting Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville has been 60% completed as of late May, according to the Facebook of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway on 1 June.

So far, the pavement work is already underway while the first flyover of the project has also started taking shape.

The team has already finished installing girder blocks for this flyover, marking another major breakthrough in the construction. Upon completion, this flyover will be used to change direction by the drivers. (Read more)

Ministry of Public Works and Transport spokesman Heang Sotheayuth said the project has been going smoothly besides the recent lockdown and the surge in the COVID-19 community outbreak.

The construction project of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway began on 22 March 2019. This 190-kilometre road is being built by Cambodian PPSHV Expressway Co., Ltd. and will take 48 months to complete. (Read more)
