Shreveport Police detectives are in the early stages on an investigation into an apparent murder-suicide Wednesday evening at an apartment complex near Shreve City.

Just after 11:30 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers were called to the Pier Landing apartments relative to a shooting where it was learned two adults, a man and a woman, were suffering injuries from gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was taken via ambulance to Oschner LSU Hospital, where he died shortly on arrival.

Based on preliminary information, authorities believe the man and woman were the only two present inside the apartment at the time of the incident. Detectives have established that the two knew each other, but were not engaged in a romantic relationship.

The investigation is ongoing. The identities of the man and the woman have not been released.
