Ladbrokes Championship – Game 24 – Season 2019 / 2020

Saturday 15th February 2020, Gayfield Park, Arbroath, 3.00pm kick off

Arbroath return to action tomorrow as we welcome Allan Johnston’s Queen of the South to Gayfield for our first game in a fortnight since a Craig Wighton goal secured a famous 1-0 win over League Leaders Dundee United at Tannadice.

Queen of the South make their final visit to Gayfield this season as the teams played out a 0-0 draw on the opening day of the season. The Lichties suffered a 2-0 defeat just before Christmas at Palmertson.

The Doonhammers have had a busy Winter Transfer Window with goalkeeper Robby McCrorie returning to Rangers, with Faissal El Bakhtaoui, Darren Brownlie and Andy McCarthy all departing.

Whilst goalkeeper Ross Stewart has arrived on loan from Livingston, with Michael Ledger signing from Norwegian side Notodden, and Lithunian striker Deimantas Petravicius signing from Kazakstan side Okzhetpes.

David Devine and Iain Wilson also joined on loan from Motherwell and Kilmarnock respectively.

Queen of the twice took the lead at Greenock Morton last weekend, but Morton came back twice as the sides played out a 2-2 draw.

Queen of the South sit 8th in the league only 5 points behind the Lichties with a game in hand, having won 7, drawn 5 and lost 10, having scored 26 and conceded 29.

With a weekend free Arbroath Manager Dick Campbell should have a fit full squad of players to choose from with a real headache in his selection after the team played so well at Tannadice.

The weather in Arbroath has been okay today (Friday) and we are hopeful tomorrow will be fine as well. We will keep you up to date if the weather turns overnight.

It will be another extremely tough game for the Lichties but with your backing anything is possible as we have already shown this season.

C’mon the Lichties!
