Khu.éex': The Magic of Noise is a feature-length documentary currently in post-production with a focus on how this unique venture was formed by funk legend Bernie Worrell, Preston Singletary, and others. The film charts their journey fusing Tlingit storytelling with Jazz/funk/rock and blues music with the goal of bringing it to a wider audience. Along the way, the band deals with some tragic losses of key members but continues to create and evolve in the spirit of those who have passed. Preston Singletarys lifelong passion for music and the opportunity to perform with the Funk music legend of his youth, Bernie Worrell, were very much a driving force in the creation of this band. Khu.éex' means potlatch in Tlingit, a gathering for giving and sharing their culture with a deep spiritual connection to remembrance. These are their guiding principles and the raison d'être for our film.
