^32 (A)Two others, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him. ^33 (B)And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, ^(C)one on his right and one on his left. ³⁴ And Jesus said, “Father, ^(D)forgive them, ^(E)for they know not what they do.”^[a] And they cast lots ^(F)to divide his garments.

⁸ but ^(A)God shows his love for us in that ^(B)while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

^23 (A)When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, ^(B)but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

² looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, ^(A)who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising ^(B)the shame, and ^(C)is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Do Not Grow Weary

^3 (D)Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or ^(E)fainthearted.

³ And even ^(A)if our gospel is veiled, ^(B)it is veiled to ^(C)those who are perishing. ⁴ In their case ^(D)the god of this world ^(E)has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing ^(F)the light of ^(G)the gospel of the glory of Christ, ^(H)who is the image of God. ⁵ For what ^(I)we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ^(J)ourselves as your servants^[a] for Jesus' sake. ⁶ For God, who said, ^(K)“Let light shine out of darkness,” ^(L)has shone in our hearts to give ^(M)the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

²² So ^(A)flee ^(B)youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with ^(C)those who call on the Lord ^(D)from a pure heart. ²³ Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant ^(E)controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. ²⁴ And ^(F)the Lord's servant^[a] must not be quarrelsome but ^(G)kind to everyone, ^(H)able to teach, patiently enduring evil, ²⁵ correcting his opponents ^(I)with gentleness. God ^(J)may perhaps grant them repentance ^(K)leading to a knowledge of the truth, ²⁶ and they may come to their senses and escape from ^(L)the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
