Tropes up the wazoo, and I loved it. Is it my favorite book by this author? No, but it is nice to change it up once in a while. It’s got billionaire, second chance, surprise pregnancy, enemies to lovers, misunderstandings/miscommunications, forced to marry, and probably more tropes that I can’t even think of right now. Admittedly, Alejandro is pretty much a jerk of the highest degree, but when you find out what happened in the 5 years they were apart you get a better idea of why. Rebecca is stubborn herself, so they were bound to have some issues. By the end, they both come around and figure out their issues, so yay for the HEA and for some hints at future books. This isn’t a book in the HOT world, so it was about what I was expecting, give or take.

"This is not possible, Querida. I have told you what I intend." "You can't mean it. you can't want to make me do this." "Make you do this? I think I will not need to make you do anything. You have wanted me since the moment you arrived." Oh, my Alejandro. You're so sexy, so handsome, and so.......alpha-hole-ish! Talk about a love/hate relationship!! I think I suffered whiplash reading this one! He loves her, then he hates her. She loves him, then she hates him. This back and forth goes on for a good chunk of the book, but in the most delicious way. The whirlwind romance these two had in the beginning comes to a screetching halt, the result of a misunderstanding and Rebecca's refusal to allow Alejandro to explain. Then another misunderstanding happens that leads him to hate her for a chain of events that caused him more heartbreak than anyone should endure. A hostile takeover leads to hostile words and probably the best revenge-between-the-sheets time ever! I will admit that the whole love/hate/love/hate thing kind of bothered me in the beginning. I mean, how can you want someone that badly that you hate that much? But, once you start peeling away the layers of Alejandro, you can't help but start feeling for him and routing for Rebecca to chisel away at that ice block surrounding his heart. Oh, and you won't be able to help but read Alejandro's dialogue with a sexy spanish accent. I dare you to try. This is book one of a series and I can't wait for book two!
