Harlow

A wedding, a one-night stand, and no happily-ever-after.
That’s how it all started with Max Channing.
Along comes another cliché – a second chance.
A year later, I’m about to face Christmas alone when tall, dark & s*xy as h*ll Max shows up again.
Our lives are worlds apart. He’s a billionaire tech investor. I’m a hotshot firefighter.
Nothing about us makes any sense.
I never thought I’d see him again after the hottest night of my life.
I was wrong, so very wrong.
When our paths cross again, we break every rule.
And set each on fire.

Max

Harlow May tests every limit I have and makes me want to break every d*mn rule she creates.
She’s a temptation I can’t seem to resist.
She fits no category. She’s strong & sassy and a firefighter to boot.
She fights the fire between us.
Once I have a taste, no one else will do.
I’ll fight for her and for us.
I only want one woman. Harlow.

Two people, made untrusting by past relationships meet and feel an instant chemistry and connection. It's like a lightning strike that's over as fast as it started. Fast forward a year and they find themselves thrown back together and the attraction is still too strong to ignore. But trust won't come easy and obstacles are thrown in their way from the beginning. What came from that was a sweet story with great characters and a plot that holds the readers attention.

Harlow is one of those easy to like characters. She was a fire fighter who clearly had her priorities in order and the right order as far as I was concerned. She was definitely my favorite in this story. It was full of heart and heat and the romance I love.

J.H. Croix did a really good job with this one and Iook forward to reading more from this author in future.

This story is about two people trying to avoid getting hurt. I loved that Max was detriment to make Harlow see that what they feel is something special and worth the struggle. For a playboy he sure was a softy when Harlow was his focus.

I love that she was a firefighter. It was such a struggle to see her pain with remembering what happened to her. And I was so happy to see her A-HA moment when she decided that Max was the one for her. And once again I was so happy to read about the beauty that is Alaska.

With each book I read by J.H. Croix in this series I’m more and more in love with her writing. I'm sure her books are adding the fire to my desire to come and visit Alaska one day…I can't wait to see what she delivers next.

Lord have mercy... Have mercy on me because I want more time to read.
I've been devouring books non stop and I can't get enough. And guess what? I have a new book... A new book... Oh boy.
I was waiting for a book from this author for a while now and I couldn't start it fast enough.
J.H. Croix is the best. Her writing is raw and intense, full of love, desire and so much more. I can't possibly explain the good it feels to read a book from her.
Melt With You is her latest release and it's the eight book from the Into The Fire series.
But I need to tell you something. Despite the fact that all books are standalones I totally advise you to read all books in order. By doing so, you will be able to know every character and understand this series better.
In case you don't want to read all books, a shame if you ask me, read Harlow and Max first and them dig in.
This new book explores the lifes of Harlow and Max.
Harlow is a hotshot firefighter that lives and loves her job and her friends. She's sassy and doesn't take shi*** from no-one. She was hurt in the past and that made her not trust that easily.
One night stand with a stunning man was all she was looking for but one year later...
Max is the ultimate playboy. He's a one night stand kind of guy but one look at a stunning woman at his best friends wedding and he almost changed his mind...
One year after this encounter these two meet again and now...
Jesus... Jesus... What was that?
The plot is perfect, very well written, super engaging and detailed.
The interaction between the characters is super intense and hot as hell. Dayum....
The way this story progressed left me wanting to read non stop. Each chapter ended in a way that made me keep reading and reading.
This story gave us love, friendship, desire as well as distrust, lies and so much more.
And girls... We are presented with some steamy scenes... Oh boy.
It was amazing to read form other characters from previous books. It was amazing to see a bit more about them. It made me want to read this series all over again.
J.H. Croix... You nailed it. I loves this book and I can't wait to read a bit more. Please say that we will have more... Please...

This is my first book by J. H. Croix and I enjoyed the story of Harlow and Max. I love a second chance story and these two certainly made each other work for their chance at happiness. Both of them had been burned by previous relationships and were wary of getting involved but their attraction was just too much to deny.

Harlow seems to have her life together; a good job, some good friendships forming and a lovely home in Alaska (I did ask myself who would voluntarily live somewhere so cold! But I'm a summer person, each to their own.) Harlow feels that, in the past, she's put too much into one-sided relationships so she's reluctant to even try again. Max makes her feel too much, I don't blame her, he is hot. Max kinda knows that Harlow is it for him, he tries to fight it but it's futile. He just has to convince her of that! I felt that the story had the potential to be really angsty with Harlow's Dad. He played a big role in her feelings and insecurities and in my opinion, there wasn't much done with this.

I did struggle to feel the connection between the main characters to start with but they grew on me in the end. I also thought there could have been more excitement in Harlow's job, maybe a scary moment was lacking? I'm no author, but there is plenty of potential to expand and make this more of a must read. However, overall it was an enjoyable read.

So Max and Harlow are both friends with Owen and Ivy, a couple getting married at the beginning of the book. Max is tasked with picking up Harlow from the airport and is instantly attracted to her. They end up having one night together before he has to leave for a business emergency, and they don’t see each other again until a year later.
Max is apparently a billionaire businessman investor but instead of being the stereotypical novel billionaire he actually *works* which is a nice change. He was burned by a bad relationship in college and doesn’t get involved emotionally any more. Harlow suffered an emotionally neglectful childhood and as a result tends to get overly emotionally attached in relationships and is trying to change that.
What I liked: Harlow is a hotshot firefighter. That’s pretty cool. I like her friendship with Ivy.
What I didn’t like: I’ll try to go in order here. First, the Max of the first chapter is downright creepy. He keeps talking about getting a flash of her panties as he’s helping her out of the giant SUV for the wedding, then says he’s “not that guy.” Sorry, three pages of inner monologue just said you *are* that guy. And it happens more than once. He goes full on caveman “she’s hot I must mate with her” from the instant he sees her. I will say that he improves a couple chapters in, but the first chapter almost put me off reading the book, it was that bad.
For Harlow having such an amazing, groundbreaking job, there is surprisingly little detail about it. We only get to experience a glimpse of her work and that’s at the end of a fire, after all the action is over.
We are told Harlow’s father is a major asshole. Max doesn’t like him, Harlow doesn’t like him. Her mother died when she was 6 and she traveled around with her father as he worked and she had a nanny accompany her. But the one scene her father is actually in, he’s not that bad. Is he distant? Yes. But Harlow blocks out any chance of him trying to talk to her. He comes off as a dad who didn’t quite know what he was doing but did the best he could (he could have left her at home for months at a time or sent her to boarding school, yet he took her along on all his business trips) and now doesn’t know how to connect to his adult daughter. It was more of a sad scene, really. And we have no idea why Max doesn’t like him, we just know that Max yelled at him sometime before the book began.
The repetition killed me. Harlow and Ivy had the same conversation 2 or 3 times. Max and Harlow kept having the same conversations. The sex scenes were the same over and over again.
The one thing that could have made this more interesting – the reappearance of Harlow’s disastrous ex – was a nonstarter.
Overall: I tried to like this one. I really did. I just couldn’t connect with any of the characters and my mind kept wandering all throughout the book. It may be better if read in series order, since there seems to be a lot of background info on the many many other characters that I’m missing, but I don’t care enough to go back and read them.

Max Channing and Harlow May can't seem to keep their hands off one another despite their heads telling them to run the other way if they hope to remain unaffected. But who listens to reason when their magnetism is enough to pull them together repeatedly and their chemistry is hot enough to start a forest fire? A year goes by after their one night and they're just as drawn to one another now as they were before. Max is determined to have more time with Harlow and he'll do everything he can to persuade her to agree. But when they start to fall they'll have to come to terms with their pasts if they can hope to move forward to a happy future together.

I mostly liked both characters. Harlow was a strong woman but most of the story was spent with her second-guessing herself romantically, running away, avoiding the truth of her feelings, and pushing Max away because of her fear. While she eventually got it together, it took her almost the entire story to get there and I wasn't convinced she'd ever get there without some kind of tragedy. Thankfully it didn't come to that.

Max, on the other hand, was determined to win Harlow's heart after he came to accept that he felt far more for her than lust. The synopsis from with his perspective says no other woman will do but Harlow, except that's not completely true. Between their first encounter and their second he seeks out the company of other women. He's not cheating at all, they're not even really together for quite some time, it's just that the synopsis is a bit misleading. So no celibate male lead here, that role is, predictably, given to the female lead. Once he decides that Harlow is the one, however, he's all in, more so than Harlow actually. His efforts to go at her pace but to push her just enough to accept more of his affection are sweet as well as hot. He more than makes up for her vacillation and denials.

The ending was beyond sweet and so perfect for them as individuals. It showed their growth, their commitment, and their love that matched the passion we've come to expect from them. I enjoyed their first meeting before they fell into bed (or onto the counter...) and the epilogue the best. From sweet to hot, they had the potential for a fantastic relationship, they just had a bit of a road to travel before they could get there.

A new to me author that I am pleased to say totally won me over, this was everything I wanted in a romance.
Max Channing doesn’t do relationships, we’ll up until he claps eyes on Harlow that statement might have been true but one look and this relation phobe is seriously reconsidering his usual MO, because he definitely fancies getting to Harlow a lot better!
Max is helping ferry guests to the lodge for his friend’s wedding when he first sees Harlow, she may have been the last to turn up but she was certainly the one that grabbed his attention the most and the feeling was most definitely reciprocated because it didn’t take her long to appreciate his good looks either but she was more than happy to admire for a distance, but is what she wants and what she gets going to be the same thing?
Well, I what do you think? Yep…thought so!
Anyway, the story whips forward a year and the two of them are back in the same vicinity and fate is definitely playing fast and loose with the pair of them and this time, she is calling the shots because this pair might have slipped through each other’s fingers last time…that won’t be happening again?
All the memories of the first time they met each other come rushing back and for once they don’t spend an age fighting the inevitable. Woohoo!!
I absolutely loved Harlow, she was a feisty woman who as a firefighter was used to being in the company of strong dominant men, and with Max that is exactly what she has, a man that has been hurt before and is fighting himself in the hope that he can keep his broken heart from being battered again.
Can they heal each other, can he show her the love she missed growing up and what being loved is really like?
Can she show him that not everyone is out to break his heart and that if he lets her in, she will be the one he has waited for?
I loved the story, the connection between the two of them and the fact that this was about overcoming your past in order to get your future. They could easily have allowed the negatives they had experienced in their lives to dictate their futures, but the author gave them the chance to work through it all together, if ever there were two souls that belonged together it as this pair and I was so pleased when they got their happy ever after.

Conflicting emotions and heated desire constantly affect a couple in the latest Into the Fire story, where their romantic journey has plenty of ups and downs. J.H. Croix never makes it completely easy for her characters to find lasting happiness, and each hurdle along the way is always very conceivable. All developments in MELT WITH YOU are cleverly imagined with realistic circumstances.

When two wedding attendants hook up for a very enjoyable evening before going their separate ways, there was no reason to think they would ever come in contact again. Harlow May is a hotshot firefighter in Alaska where the ceremony took place, while Max Channing is a wealthy businessman living in California. But both keep recalling their night together, and when an opportunity arises for him to visit near her hometown, they soon find themselves meeting up once more. This time around, Max and Harlow feel overwhelmed with sexual need that is difficult to control, yet keeping their emotions from being involved is a must.

With its very likable couple and engaging situations, I was pulled into every compelling event that occurs in MELT WITH YOU. J.H. Croix manages to once again make me fall in love with her hero, as how Max reacts to Harlow is so heartfelt. He keeps women at a distance after the way an earlier relationship ended, but his responses to her come from deep within him and are backed by genuine feelings. Harlow does not have a good track record when it comes to men, and though she tries to not become emotionally entangled with Max, his charming nature is certainly hard to resist. Watching these two work through some personal issues was very captivating, as the scenes were always riveting with believability plus lots of sincerity. The colorful Alaska setting makes me want to visit and see the spectacular sites for myself. I find this series to be continually entertaining and am looking forward to many more stories.

Melt with You will definitely make you melt in a hot love puddle.

Max Channing is playing chauffeur at his good friends wedding. One last guest to pick up to take to the lodge and all the guest are accounted for, when he sees her he is instantly attracted. He's not a relationship kind of guy but he would love to get to know this woman better.

Harlow May is the last one to arrive for her good friends wedding. The driver is definitely attractive but she isn't looking for a hookup. She always lets her heart get her in trouble believing in a happily ever after when there doesn't seem to be one for her. She goes to the wedding and has a great time and afterward she sees the devilishly handsome driver again and she seems to see a lot of him which was more than she bargained for.

Forward to a year later and fate has a way of putting the two together again and the sparks that ignited the year before are still smoldering so it doesn't take much for them to combust. Harlow is resistant though, their lives are worlds apart. She is wishful but reality is how could they make this work? Harlow is looking for the love she never received as a child. Max is fighting getting his heart smashed again by avoiding relationships. Somehow the two of them seem to heal all the past hurts and even though they have two very different lives

I loved everything about this book. It's heartwarming, sexy, and melt you in a love puddle hot.
I loved both characters and especially love that we get to revisit old friends from previous books as well as cross over into another series to tie those characters together. I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I highly recommend this book.

Loved it! Fast pace and so hot!!! Truly enjoyed Harlow and Max’s story! Especially loved the instant chemistry and the fact that the story is set close to the Holidays.
Harlow had a financially secure upbringing but it was also emotionally difficult. Her mother passed away when she was six years old, leaving her with a father who was not only physically but also emotionally unavailable. She was raised by nannies and never had a “home base” as she travelled with her father as he worked. She has now grown into a young woman who craves the family and stability she never had. She has even gone against her father’s wishes: she won’t work for him and his company, but she has become a “Hot Shot Firefighter” in Alaska. Her father has disowned her and she is now financially independent.
On the other hand, Max was raised by a very loving mother (teacher) and father (mechanic) in a middle class environment. Because of his intelligence and drive, he became a very successful engineer and business owner. He has now grown into a young man who craves a loving family like he had, but who also doesn’t want to be taken advantage of because he has money.
Harlow and and Max meet at their respective best friends’ wedding (Ivy and Owen from “Hold Me Close: Last Frontier Lodge, Book 7) and the attraction is instantaneous!!! This story takes place one year after their friends’ wedding /their “one night stand”. The attraction is still there and they haven’t stopped thinking about each other. Question is… will they rise above their past experiences to find the love and stability they crave.
Love this series!!! Bravo J. H. Croix!!

Another great read by this author in the Into the Fire series and another hotshot firefighter finally gets their match. This time it’s Harlow, the other female hotshot firefighter in a male dominated profession. She meets Max at her best friend’s wedding, Ivy, who happens to marry Max’s best friend. The two have an unforgettable night and part ways in the morning. A year later he meets up with her again and won’t take no for an answer because the electricity between them is hard for him to ignore. But Harlow has her reasons for not falling again and it will take Max to convince her that he’s worth the risk.
A great read with steam and I loved how Max didn’t run when things got hard, he stayed and showed her that he was there for her. I enjoyed these two and how Harlow finally comes out of her shell and starts forging friendships in the small town. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of Max...if the one night was so memorable for him why did he have to have other women, even if it was just like a business transaction for him with the others. I lost a bit of respect for the character as it was only a year and Harlow remained true to him...why couldn’t he and it would have made his feelings and intentions towards Harlow that much more sincere and believable right from the beginning. Otherwise I did enjoy it, the story flowed beautifully, I liked the no over the top drama between them and that no others came between them.

Melt With You is another great addition to the series. Harlow is an enigma as a little rich girl used to a life of lonely luxury growing up into a woman who left everything behind for a grueling life fighting fires in the wilderness. Meanwhile, Max demonstrates that part of being a strong man means making things easy on a woman. A testament to Max’s character is that even though Harlow is a female hotshot firefighter, her career choice is never an issue in the relationship he’s building with her. Some men might feel that a strong woman might threaten their masculinity, but Max only finds that part of her intriguing. His attraction to her and growing feelings for her propel him to get to know Harlow, then he goes on to flip her socks off by continuously being attentive to her needs and responding to her according to the signals he’s mastered reading from her. The deep connection they establish throughout the book is manifested by touching scenes of tenderness and mutual vulnerability, but this is countered and complemented by a consuming heat between them that shoots fireballs off the pages! I loved how Max and Harlow literally rocked each other’s world, and I loved reading every single page of this book :)

When Love Breaks Down Barriers

When Max, the strong and resilient businessman, and Harlow, the HotShot Firefighter meet, the connection is instant and hot!
One night, no strings are all it was supposed to be, when they meet again a year later- the sparks are still there, maybe even hotter than before!
Max, has not been open to the idea of relationships or settling down, now that he has Harlow back in his sights his mind and heart are thinking all sorts of different things.
Harlow has been tossed around by the people who were supposed to love her in the past, so her insecurities are many, and emotional walls are high. Conflicted with her feelings on Max and her life, she keeps pushing away the one man who could be good for her heart and soul.
* Sighs & Swoons *
I LOVE THIS SERIES SO HARD!
This story had me all over the place! Max was a swoon-worthy, heart melting alpha, that I loved, while Harlow- that ooh that girl, I understood her trepidations, but for the love of my sanity- she drove me mad with her constant roadblocks, saying she was ready to move on, and then doing the opposite! Argh. So, much back and forth I could not get enough!! I am glutton for punishment!
Pictrquesge detailing woven throughout the pages along with relatable well-defined characters are the icing on their passionate witty romance journey.
I cannot wait to see what's next.

I really enjoyed this story! I loved the characters. I had read the previous story that introduces us to them a few months ago and gives us the first time they meet. That part of the story is included in the beginning of this one, so you won't be missing anything. Harlow has had it hard. She has a distant father that has traveled around so she hasn't felt like she's had a home, home base, or any friends to rely on. She has a hard time opening up because of it. She has also had some horrible boyfriends that have left their own scars. It makes it hard for Max to convince her to give them a shot. They have explosive, undeniable chemistry but because of the emotional aspect of things, it makes it difficult. Harlow knows that sex with Max won't be just sex for long, at least not for her. I loved how this story developed and how we got to see the two of the evolve. Max at first didn't want anything more but he can't deny what they have and what they could have. I love the way that Max fights for that without pushing Harlow too far. The sex is explicit and absolutely part of the story but I loved the emotional connection that you get with the characters as well. This story pulled me in from beginning to end. This is the 8th book in the series but it can be read as a standalone.

Max and Harlow met at a mutual friends wedding a year ago and had a one night stand and neither can forget the other. They never thought they would see each other again. Harlow is now living in Alaska as a Hotshot Firefighter and Max is back because he and Owen bought a company in Anchorage. They both meet again in Diamond Creek at the Last Frontier Lodge. Harlow returns to Willow Brook earlier than planned because of the pull she has toward Max that she thought was gone. When she makes a trip to Anchorage to get supplies and the weather turns bad she ends up staying in the same motel that Max is staying in. They reconnect and find the spark is still burning as hot as it was a year ago. Max leaves with her the next morning and stays with her in Willow Brook for a few days and gets to know her better. They both realize that the more time they spend together that there is more to this than just sex. Neither is sure what to do with their feelings. Will they be able to figure it out? Will Max be able to convince Harlow to give him a chance? Will Harlow take the chance on Max that this could be the love she is looking for?

Delightful opposites-attract romance!

Harlow and Max couldn't be different - in both background and temperament. Harlow was raised in the lap of luxury by a cold, distant father, while Max grew up in a middle-class home with loving parents. Max built his highly successful business from the ground up, while Harlow walked away from her dad's business and ventured into firefighting instead. Max has always avoided emotional entanglements but finds he can't resist the undeniable chemistry he has with Harlow.

Harlow, on the other hand, has always found herself investing more in a relationship than her partner deserved, or even requested. Just as Harlow is determined not to continue making the same heart-first impulsive risks as before, Max is equally determined not to let Harlow walk away from what could be a wonderful romance between them.

This romance is fueled by internal conflicts and personal growth. It's a hot and sexy love story, with charming characters and the nostalgic setting of Willow Brook, Alaska. The HEA was just perfect on all points, and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this terrific series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Another great book in the Into The Fire Series for J.H. Croix. Harlow May is a hotshot firefighter who was raised in luxury by a cold, distant father. Max Channing is is a billionaire tech investor who was raised in a loving middle class family. Max and Harlow meet at a friend's wedding and sparks fly. Harlow and Max have a one night stand, burn up the sheets, and part ways the next morning when Max must leave to attend business. One year later, Max and Harlow run into each other at the same resort and the attraction between them is burning brighter than ever. Can Max prove to Harlow that he is willing to fight for her? Can Max and Harlow get past old hurts to give their relationship a chance? Can Max and Harlow open their hearts to each other and find their happily ever after? I loved Melt With You by J.H. Croix. Melt With You is a great story with fantastic characters that will keep the reader entertained throughout. I would highly recommend getting Melt With You and all the books in the Into The Fire Series by J.H. Croix. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest review.

Melt with You, Into The Fire Series, by author J.H. Croix continues the proof that this is a romantic series that needs to be on everyone's bookshelf.
This storyline continues to take place in and around Willow Brook, Alaska. Harlow is a hotshot firefighter who met Max a year ago at a wedding where they both were a part of, had a one night stand then Max took off the next morning never to contact her again. But, they constantly think of each other. As luck would have it Max and his friend who lives in Alaska partner on a deal which brings Max to Anchorage at the same time Harlow go to Anchorage for supplies. They run into each other and all bets are off as they now must deal with old wounds from previous relationship and what they want from each other. It's a tall order. Are they up to it?
This is a great read and one I enjoyed immensely. Old familiar characters reappear just to give a sense of continuity which I liked. Like all the rest before, I'm recommending this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment.

I love this series!!! Based in Alaska, it is so far out from my own reality that I can't help but have vivid images pinging around in my imagination as I read.
Harlow and Max's story is yet another wonderful read. Sparks fly between the two when they first meet. Both not wanting anything to do with a relationship. That Max is only visiting makes their one night together easy for both of them to handle.
But out of the two, Harlow is the one who is more guarded. She knows herself very well. that she falls in love with love too easily. But when you read her backstory, it is totally understandable as to why she does this time and again.
This book has a great cast of characters. Most of them have had their stories told previously, so it was like catching up with old friends. But each book can definitely be read as standalone's.
Can't wait for the next book!!

I thought Melt with you was an ok story it would be the first one that I've read by the author and I know I want to read more . It did take me some time to really connect to the story and the characters but in the end I was happy to see how it ended . It can be read as a standalone even though it is part of a series and some past characters are mentioned .

This story is about two people not trying to get a relationship started … at first. Both are cautious, Max Channing having been hurt before and in no hurry for anything serious. Harlow May wanted love but felt she would not find it. So a one night stand, no strings, would be all they needed.

But when they saw each other a year later and those sparks were still there, Max started to think they had a chance for more. He wanted to convince Harlow that it seemed like they had something that was worth fighting for. Will she and Max give in to their attraction fully this time? Will they allow each other to bring the healing and strength they need to trust each other with a deeper relationship?

I loved this story! Both main characters were incredibly likable and very realistic. They made a great couple, if only they could believe in their feelings and see where it took them! Grab your copy and experience this wonderful story line! You’ll be very glad you did!

First time in reading this author but have seen the books around she had to offer. Since my tbr list is bigger than a tall building something must really attract my attention to get me into it if unfamiliar. To be honest none where there on that list from this author but while browsing one day she did capture my attention with the description of this one. Needless to say was I glad I ventured in. Her writing ability was such that I could settle in right away with the characters and not want to leave anytime soon. Since I adore second chance ones this helped this one too. Max and Harlow will capture your attention with also they are so intriguing. Watching the chemistry and personalities you become part of them also. Deep in the emotional scale this one will feed yours as well. Watch you do not melt right out of wherever you will be reading. This is one that will satisfy why you read a romance with characters that will be lasting even after the last page.

SIZZLING!!!!

A term used in this book by J. H. Croix best describes this story....Sweet Hell!!!! A one night stand with someone you don't expect to see again becomes the night neither can forget. One year later billionaire tech Max Channing and Hotshot firefighter Harlow May cross paths again and yeah....Sweet Hell the chemistry is enough to cause a fire. To follow the story of Max and Harlow fighting their attracting became tug of war of emotions to see who will give in first as their walls come crumbling down. A very satisfying story of hope, trust and love with the much deserved steamy scenes. A great story that flows flawlessly with very real characters and a HEA that will rock your world. So excited and ready for the next book!!! I highly recommend a copy of this book to add to your library.

I have enjoyed everything that Ms. Croix has written. This is no exception. I think this one I enjoyed more because I could really identify with Harlow. I, too had a distant and unloving relationship to a parent, and it has made the same impact on me and my attempts at relationships as it did to her. I could really feel her confusion and anxiety about her budding relationship with Max. I also could feel her pain as to dealing with her miscarriage, since i went through that as well.
I loved Max also, since once he got out of his own way and admitted that he loved Harlow, he never gave up. He did everything he could to show her, not just tell her, how he felt and that she could trust him.
I also loved seeing the glimpses of the previous characters and seeing how their lives were changing and their families are growing. If you are going back and forth about this book, just buy it. You will not be disappointed.

He asks "What do you do?" she responds "I'm a hotshot firefighter"

Another melting story for this series. I love that each book can be read alone but I find the whole series so enjoyable I recommend reading them all.

In this one, Harlow is type daughter of a rich investor but chooses to be a hotshot firefighter, for which her father cuts her off. Max is a successful businessman who has learned that girls only want him for his money, so he is not into relationships. They meet because their best friends, Owen and Ivy, get married.

Owen and Ivy invite Max and Harlow to stay at their house while they go on their honeymoon, but fail to advise either of them that they were both invited. Max makes a popistion to Harlow which she takes a chance on since he says no expectations. This is a must read to find out what happens afterwards when they don't see each other for about another year.

Max and Harlow meet during their best friends wedding. He is playing "chauffeur" and Harlow mistakes him for one. They have a spark. They have mutual HOT attraction, they act on it, and fast forward a year later, they both can't get other out of their heads. They avoid relationships because of their pasts. But they haven't spoken nor have seen each other. Max knows there is something about Harlow he just needs to explore.

He's back and she knows she can't stay away. They are HOT for each other, exploring themselves with each other. I loved their chemistry, his overprotectiveness over her. I love that she's a firefighter and headstrong. This is a sweet holiday romance with naughtiness and enough fire to keep you enthralled and entranced by Harlow and Max. This was my first J. H. Croix read, and it won't be my last.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second chance romance. Her mother died when she was six and she grew up traveling around with her father on his business and grew to hate hotels. She and her father were estranged since she did not want to work for him and he cut her off financially. She became a hotshot firefighter and ended up in Alaska in a small town. She had a bad experience with her last relationship and had sworn off men until the wedding of her best friends. She met a guy from San Francisco and they had a one night stand. She had told him it was for only 1 night, but was hurt when he left the next day on business. A couple of years later they got a second chance, but it wasn't easy. The ending was great. I have read all the books in this series and enjoyed them all.

A well written story with nice storyline and plot. I like it is written in dual POV because that gives the reader more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters and that brings it closer to the reader. Likeable characters who are well described and develops nicely through the story.
This story is very emotional and strong written. I was caught from the first chapter. The writing style and use of words made it a very passionate and heartwarm story.
A pair that has a one-night stand which they could not forget. They have both a past where they have been hurt in relationships and because of that they have closed their hearts. But this one night turned it all over.
They both have to fight to get their second chance and make it work. But it is worth to follow their journey towards their HEA.
Captivating and enjoyable read that keeps you on the edge at times.

Harlow is a firefighter and a little gun shy when it comes to men. Max is a billionaire that has worked hard to get where he is. They meet at a friend's wedding and share an amazing night together. They never expected to run into each other again but a few years later sparks are still flying between them when they run into one another again. Neither is interested in a relationship however they can't seem to stop thinking about each other. Can Harlow show Max that she is different from the other women he has known? Will Max finally admit he has feeling for Harlow?

This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between Max and Harlow is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Yet another hot one! Melt With You was the eighth book in Croix’s Into The Fire Series. They are all interconnected, but can be read as stand-alones. It was fast paced, fun, and full of sizzle!

Harlow was at a friend’s wedding and decided to have a one-night stand. She thought she would never see him again but a year later, he was back. Would she be able to resist him the second time?

Max had thought about Harlow for the last year. When he found her again, he did not want to let go, but how would they work it out? They were from different worlds, were they prepared to fight?

Harlow and Max still had the same fire they had the first time around. There was no denying their chemistry! It was fun watching them figure out how to make it work. I also really liked the connection to Ivy and Owen (from Last Frontier Lodge series)!
