Soaring with Fallon

Rate this book
From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kristen Proby…

Fallon McCarthy has climbed the corporate ladder. She’s had the office with the view, the staff, and the plaque on her door. The unexpected loss of her grandmother taught her that there’s more to life than meetings and conference calls, so she quit, and is happy to be a nomad, checking off items on her bucket list as she takes jobs teaching yoga in each place she lands in. She’s happy being free, and has no interest in being tied down.

When Noah King gets the call that an eagle has been injured, he’s not expecting to find a beautiful stranger standing vigil when he arrives. Rehabilitating birds of prey is Noah’s passion, it’s what he lives for, and he doesn’t have time for a nosy woman who’s suddenly taken an interest in Spread Your Wings sanctuary.

But Fallon’s gentle nature, and the way she makes him laugh, and feel again draws him in. When it comes time for Fallon to move on, will Noah’s love be enough for her to stay, or will he have to find the strength to let her fly?

The Kristen Proby Crossover Collection features a new novel by Kristen Proby and six by some of her favorite writers:

This book was the complete opposite of what I thought it would be. Which I don't mean in a bad way. I was expecting just a super short, fast paced, and fluffy type of read but instead this was a pretty even paced book. There was definitely some insta-love going on timeline wise but everything was detailed really well and there was time to get to know the characters and see them together a lot so it never felt too rushed.

Noah and Fallon were wonderful to read about and their relationship was so sweet. I loved that there was no doubt between them during the story. They just knew that they were great together and they didn't let anything put a stop to that. There was very little drama but a whole lot of love in this book. I can't wait to read more of this crossover collection and get to see some more characters from Cunningham Falls.

4.5 - "I like it here…" Stars!

We return to Cunningham Falls, Montana for book four in the Big Sky, series, and Soaring With Fallon was an absolute pleasure to read from start to finish.

I found my place… and I found my person.

Fallon as the towns’ yoga teacher has featured in the previous books on the periphery of the stories being told, I’ll admit I have been intrigued by her since she was introduced, so getting her story was met with great enthusiasm by this reader. And boy did Kristen partner her with the perfect guy; Noah King, Spread Your Wings Sanctuary owner, was the perfect ying to Fallons’ yang.

"You’re my focus… I can’t see anything but you."

A catastrophic leak in her house quickly puts Fallon and Noah in close proximity with each other, straight after their first date in fact. And this is a couple that starts living together with the ease of two people that have known each other for years, kindred spirits if you will. The story is basically them getting to know each other as they try to navigate through living with each other as well.

"I want it all with you…"

Low drama, high emotion, plenty of inclusion of all the characters that I have come to know and love, and a best friend called Claire, who turns out to be a right bitch gave me more than a few chuckles as well! Another winner from this author, and I cannot wait for more from the series, with the Crossover Collection being released shortly.

Fallon is from Chicago but has been moving around for a while. She just does stay in one place long until she was came to Cunningham Falls. She has been there for 2 year teaching yogo. She hasn't met any real friends but that's down to her. Everyone is so nice but she hasn't really known what family is and mostly spent time in her own it's what she is used to. Until Noah comes into her life.

Noah has lived in Cunningham Falls all his life. He even lives in the house he has grown up in. He family is huge and they are all really close. He is a really nice guy and sexy. But all these guys seem to be. He doesn't really do relationship but there is something about Fallon that makes him want more and to have her around.

Fallon McCarthy was all corporate then her granny died, the only one ever to be there for her. knowing she would want her to live life and not just fade to dust at a job he hated, she starts a new. Resign, sells her granny's apartment, finds a career she loves as a yoga instruct and moves from place to place. That is until she finds a wounded eagle on a hike and calls for its rescue and that leads to meeting Noah King.

Noah has seen the beautiful Fallon around town, he has been intrigued for a while and is resigned to asking her out. When comes on a rescue call for a downed eagle, he is pleasantly surprised to find it is Fallon who made the call. A request for a date, an acceptance and a date late, they are both drawn to one another, when he drops her off home, they are shocked to find her house flooded from a burst pipe, with no family and no close friends, he offers her his spare room. This closeness will expedite their bonding and closeness.

There will be many bumps in the road to a HEA. A bad friend, an outburst there may be no coming back from, and a slew of others. Will these two get a HEA or will she flee like she is known to do....

𝐒𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐧 by Kristen Proby was absolute PERFECTION! Noah and Fallon’s chemistry and connection was beautiful and breathtaking. This is Kristen Proby at her finest and I devoured her words like they were the last ones I would ever read in this lifetime. She brings magic to every single page and every single character. I was in love when I saw the cover and read the synopsis, but after consuming this sweet, steamy, and whimsical romance, I have no other words but to tell you that you MUST grab this gem as soon as you can. It will make you smile. It will make you laugh. It will make you believe in happily ever afters. This is a story that I will be reading over and over again.

This will have to wait for a price drop.

5 'I Love You So Much It Hurts' Stars

WOW, just WOW! Soaring With Fallon's uncomplicated and real life like, emotionally charged and passionately enrapturing love story transformed this already fantastic small town romance that I loved, in not only my favorite installment of the spin off series, but one of my all time favorite small town romances. Noah and Fallon were extraordinary characters, complex yet so relatable, and all the cameos from the previous books just made this book PERFECT! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Last year, my sister send me a recommendation for this book because she knew I enjoyed this author's work before and especially that I wouldn't skip my turn on a story with eagles and wildlife in it ;p Too bad I had to wait almost a year before the book was released though.

After her grandma passed five years ago, Fallon McCarthy tried different place but she doesn't plan to move back to Chicago. In fact, the last two years she spend in Cunningham Falls, Montana, has been the longest she stayed at the same place since she left Chicago. She likes the town, she likes the people, even if she's more an introvert and she likes her job; working at the Lodge, teaching yoga classes. One day, while walking on her favorite hicking trail, she discover in the bushes an injured eagle. Not knowing what to do but wanting to help, she phone a friend who tell her to call the Spread your Wings birds sanctuary. That's where she meet Noah King, the rehabilitator who started it 8 years ago. And when she go back the next day to see how the eagle is doing, Noah invite her to diner. They click together right away, feelings grow quickly but naturally and the relationship become serious pretty soon.

Written at the first person and with a double POV, Soaring with Fallon (love the title!) is a sweet romance with no-angst and not many challenges. A reminder that love doesn't always have to be difficult. There was no game, no bullshit between Fallon and Noah, just a beautiful honesty and uncomplicated chemistry. They were comfortable together right away, like they knew each other and were friends all their lives. But as a result, it also felt like not much was happening and for me, it lacked a spark, not between the MC, but the little something else in the story that would draw me in and keep me entertained.

Another great addition to the Cunningham Falls series! We have met Noah and Fallon in other books but this one lets the two of them shine. This book kicks off a crossover collection by Kristen and some of her favorite authors.

Fallon is a wanderer at heart but something about Cunningham Falls has caused her to pause a moment. When she finds and injured eagle, the events that follow open her up to the possibility of staying forever in one place.

Noah is such a sweet caring man. He works with injured birds and puts that same care into drawing Fallon out of her protective shell. Loved the banter with these two. Loved when Fallon finally realizes that Noah is worth her time. Great to see some of the previous couples again in this story.

Looking forward to reading the rest of the stories in this collection and of course, revisiting Cunningham Falls any time!

"Spread Your Wings"

Another Kristen's book to love!

I love her characters, her plots and her books. I love all the feelings I get from her stories and I love I always end them with my full of hope and love!

And it wasn't different with this book!

Noah King is sexy, such a gentleman and he cares about people and animals. He is sweet, honest and he does whatever he can for the ones he cares about. His heart is always in the right place and he has no doubts about his feelings, so when he realizes what he wants, there is no wonder or questions, he is sure.
And coming from a big loving family, it's not difficult for him to let his feelings show, he just needed the right person.

Fallon, on the other hand, is introspective. Not used to a big family and a solid group of friends, she always saw herself as a burden, not a blessing.
But when she goes to the sweet litlle Cunningham Falls, she starts to realize maybe there it's a good place to get roots. She has friends now, she has connections, she has a place she loves and then she has what she didn't even know she wanted and needed: Noah.

After meeting him through an injured eagle, she becomes to question her previous choices and the way she's been living.
But being just like the eagle she and Noah saved, all she needed was the right care, lots of healing and true love, so she could , spread her wings and soar. And just like eagles, have a mate for life.

It was such a sweet story, with amazing and strong characters fighting for their dreams and nurturing their loved ones, in the best Kristen Proby fashion.

I absolutely loved this story!!!!!

I say it time and time again- but Kristen Proby just has a winning formula for me. Her books are well written, there's not too much drama, there's some really fun characters and there's a happily ever after.

What Kristen offers is real escapism when reading her stories....her characters are always ridiculously handsome and beautiful....usually stinking rich....probably everything you should envy and hate- but yet they are so relatable!

And for me Fallon and Noah were the perfect couple. Fallon is strong and fun and takes no prisoners while Noah is handsome, loyal and very lovable.

And again the winning formula is followed throughout this tale.

There's lots of inclusions of other characters from past books but not enough to steal Noah and Fallon's limelight- but just small glimpses so we can see they're still living those happily ever afters.

There was mentions of other characters that we haven't met in Kristen's books that fall in line with the cross over collection- and although it's not confusing....it does make you want to delve more into the series and read the other books that the other authors have written!

Sometimes we think our lives are going to go one way and then something or someone causes us to change paths. Fallon never really stayed in one place too long after her grandmother died never really finding her home. Noah never gave much thought to falling in love. He had his business and his family. He didn't think he needed anything else. It took an injured eagle for these two people to realize their lives were meant to be together.

Kristen Proby does such an amazing job with Noah and Fallon's story. Their chemistry is perfect. You can feel how much these two characters belong together. What was so real is that they were honest with each other. They held nothing back. If something bothered the other they called them out on it. It was dealt with and not ignored and allowed to fester. Noah and Fallon are a perfect match for each other. Sometimes you don't know what is missing until you find it.

This is definitely my favorite book in this series.

I loved Noah King with every cell in my body. He was just... perfect. The fact that he was a zoologist amazes me. I've never read such a character like him... he was so compassionate.

Fallon was looking for herself and Noah helped her. She had a yoga studio, something I've also never read about. Okay I love Kristen Proby's book soooo much.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I am really not a fan of crossover stories and I know this is by the author of the original world, but this felt more like a cross over book in writing stile than it felt like a Kristen book. I feel like that is a strange thing to say but it is just how it felt to me.

Also if you are not a fan of spoilers, I know at the very least you have to read Crazy Imperfect Love and Hold On first, both of those couples show up as very much couples in this story, especially Grey and Autumn, since Grey is Noah's brother. Also, another reason I have issues with crossovers, well the time line order AND continuity. I know I heard in another book before this one (edit: It was in Tempting Brooke) that Noah was the older of the two but in this one is says Grey is the older. This story runs parallel to Penny's story since Fallon and Penny are friends they call a few times and we see a glimpse as to what is happening in that story.

As for Fallon and Noah together and this book as a story unto itself, I enjoyed it. I liked them as a couple and I enjoyed seeing them grow closer together. I did like that Fallon was an introvert, but that she was also willing to open up to the right people once she found them. And how she was able to compare true friends to those she had in the past.

We did get to see many of the other residents of Cunningham Falls, especially since Fallow is a yoga instructor and all the females seam to go to her.

I enjoyed what he did with the birds and seeing all the rescues he made. I am curious about the out come of those trail cams they put up to catch the poachers, that story line was dropped.

3.5 Stars. I liked this book but I had a few issues. The good - I liked the characters and the supporting cast, the town etc. Even not having read this series since the original 3 books it was very enjoyable to see all the people and the town of Cunningham Falls is a great setting. The meeting was cute and both MCs were likeable. A bit insta-love but it is a novella so it worked fine.

My not so loves -1- I don’t like it when the blurb doesn’t match the book and this blurb says Noah “doesn’t have time for a nosy” woman. That never happens. He never pushes her away or tries to avoid her. I’m fact HE pursues HER from the beginning. No problem there but I don’t like when my expectations are different bc of the blurb. 2- I just had trouble suspending my belief at times here. The H runs a bird sanctuary and he appears to be quite well off financially but - how?? How does he earn a living or have all this land and $? How is the sanctuary supported or how is this an actual job and one that employs multiple other people? So confused.3-

Overall, ok read but not amazing.

Fallon and Noah are great together and there were times that I could relate totally with Fallon's character. I saved reading this book for last in the crossover collection and I'm glad that I did. Fallon has been living in Cunningham Falls for a couple of years and wonders if it's time to move on. She realizes that she isn't ready to move on just yet because she actually likes the place. She meets Noah when she discovers a hurt eagle and has to call someone for help. Noah is drawn to her right away and is happy when she agrees to go on a date with him. The date gets even better when an emergency when forces Fallon from her home. Noah offers his extra room and is happy when she accepts. He is determined to get to know her better but almost blows it with his jealousy. Fallon enjoys learning about Noah's job at the sanctuary and Noah enjoys being with her. After a serious accident, things change for Fallon and Noah, but is it for the better. Not only did I like reading Fallon and Noah's story, but I also liked knowing more about Gray and Autumn

This was the second book in this series I read, the other one was by another favorite author of mine, Samantha Young. It was fun reading this one after Hold On, because I always getting to have a peek back into the world of characters I've enjoyed from other books. This one started off similar in that I assumed it was going to be a very short and sweet story. However this story-line was longer than I guessed at first, and I was definitely glad for that. I enjoyed the time that Fallon and Noah had to get together and get to know each other, and finally to fall in love. There were several road blocks in their way, and each one seemed to be a perfect fit for what the characters needed to overcome to get to their happily ever after.

I am hoping to read more of the books in the series at some point, because I want to know more about the different characters that I know I met in this book. My only issue at all, is that in both this synopsis and the synopsis for the other one I read, it makes it seem as if the man is going to hold out more than he does. The guys really do seem to know exactly what they want, and that it is this woman, almost as soon as they meet them.

This was such a letdown for so many reasons:

1) Both characters were dull...dull would be an understatement. They had no personality, no interesting backstory, and definitely no chemistry. It was painful to read.
2) The writing is inconsistent. He’s super sweet, but the first time he sees her talking to another guy he asks “if you’re fucking him”...they aren’t together, don’t know much about each other, so where is this coming from?? It was incredibly inconsistent. Then within a couple of pages they are going at it...gross.
3) The dialogue is booooring. Both MCs are boring, their friends are boring, the story is boring. I couldn’t take it.

Overall I really couldn’t keep my eyes open for this. The romance was not believable, it dragged on, and now I have a backlog of other books to read lol.

I am not sure if it is totally intentional on the part of the author, and I am sure that there are titles of hers that have tons of angst and the characters are torn apart and tortured...but in this one, this doesn't happen.

Fallon and Noah meet, they are attracted and then they are both all in. The relationship, and one another, matters. It's important to them, they mean something to one another, and this is clear from the beginning.

I enjoyed this title as I always do when I pick up a title by this author. I think they feel different, like I am getting a story about a relationship instead of a story about a romance. I think this makes it feel more real to me, and it draws me in to the characters and to the story.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Noah was the perfect hero for this story. His love for Fallon was quick and intense and all consuming. Fallon was the wanderer. Moving from place to place and never really setting down roots. Until she came to Cunningham Falls. She started making friends...real friends. And she met Noah. Who gave her the beginning of those roots. And before she knew it, she was planted deep and found her person, her friends and her place. Wonderful story from Kristen Proby.

I’m so excited that Fallon and Noah’s story is finally here! After living in her own isolation for several years, Fallon needs help. The best choice is Noah King. Seamlessly, these two characters blend together; shoring up each other’s weaknesses and supporting their strengths.

I love the way Kristen Proby builds her characters to be complicated and sweet; the people you want to be friends with in the town you want to live in.

Now, onto the rest of the crossover books!

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is part of a series of crossover novels, and they intersect, but I think can be read in any order, and still enjoyed as much.

Fallon has upped sticks and lived a nomadic life for a while, but she is starting to realise that Cunningham Falls has grown on her, and she has no great need to move on right now. When she then finds and helps rescue an injured eagle, she finds that maybe she is ready to set down roots. It would be fair to say that Noah, the sanctuary owner may have as much to do with that decision as the bird!

I loved that we got to see that the differences in their experience of what family means, and how even the introverted Fallon could not help but fall in love with the King clan. She also recognises that Willa, Autumn and others are really people she has to acknowledge as being her good friends. The smooth sweep into the comfort of being part of a community is helped by her growing closeness to Noah, but is not dependent on him, which is very important. I will let you find out just how important that is by not revealing any more of the plot!

The romance is sweet, fun and with plenty of chemistry. I am a big fan of Kristen Proby novels, and this is another winner.

I struggled with this book and almost quit multiple times. The insta love is very instant. At 35% I’m wondering what the rest of the book is going to be about. I definitely needed more of a chase.

I’ve come to hate the trope of best friends that turn into bitchy enemies. It just makes me sad. There is also a place where the heroine admits that she only eats one burger a year. I think that is the most unrelatable scene I’ve ever read. It just kind of comes out of nowhere.

I won’t lie there were some moments I enjoyed in between the moments of me questioning why I kept reading this book. I still plan to read more books from the Crossover Collection. This one was just a disappointment.

I voluntarily read an early copy.
