Good win for the Footballers in the AFL1 semi-final in PNU1 against Cuala. More on this below.

Shiny new e-mail address for Michelle

I know, if you wanted anything to do with the club all you had to do was to drop a mail to Michelle at the eponymous vinssec address. What you probably didn't know was tinet was Telecom Eireann's original ISP, and they were probably waiting on us to leave so they could switch out the lights. Michelle can now be contacted at office@stvincentsgaa.ie, so please update your address books.

Great AFL1 Semi-Final Win

The senior football team played out an eventful AFL1 semi-final versus Cuala. There was a strong turnout to watch the game (thanks folks!) which added to the charged atmosphere.
It was all square at half time (Us 2-2, Cuala 0-08), but the second half saw us cut through their defenses another 3 times, leaving us with a final score of 5-7 to 1-13. The game was not without incident though, with 3 straight reds been shown, 2 for us.
The highlight of the game had to be Sean Lambe's goal - Started from a blistering run deep in our own half, he ran the length of the field, passed it over to Mossy who unselfishly returned the pass to allow Sean to palm it into the goal. I tried to snap a photo of Sean after the game, but he was too modest.
The Final has yet to be fixed, as there's a bit of a backlog in the other side of the fixtures. Don't worry, we'll be tweeting, facebooking and mailing about the fixture when it's down.

End of Season Events

Most of the juvenile teams have come to the end of their campaigns. Some are continuing to train, whilst others have ran their end-of-season events.

The Under 8s have got into the christmas spirit. This is them trying out a new look prior to their last game against Clontarf.

The U16 squad have reached the end of their juvenile career. They finished their season with a 5-A-Side kickabout in St. Davids, followed by pizza in the club, We wish them all the best as they join the adult section; we hope to see every one of them at minor next year! I may be slightly biased, but I've followed this group since mini-leagues, and a finer bunch of lads you won't meet. A personal word of thanks to all the mentors who navigated them through the years.

Meanwhile, the U14 girls had a busy medal night: Division 2 championship winners in football, runners up in the division 2 camogie championship and runners up at national level in division 3 féile camogie. Not too shabby!

The GAA4MAs also had their end of seson fixture - a friendly against Scoil Uí Chonaill which they won comfortably 3-05 to 0-03. (Wait, aren't GAA4MAs not meant to keep score?). Their last game had a bittersweetness to it as their coach, Karl Kiernan had to step down.....but because he's only gone and got himself into the fire brigade. Yay! Well done Karl! (That's him on the right!)
The GAA4Mas told me to tell him "we will all miss him! He has been absolutely brilliant!"

Upcoming Fixtures

Remember, all fixtures are now posted to a dedicated page on the club website. A reminder mentors: If you have a particular game you want supported drop me a note at pro@stvinvcentsgaa.ie and I'll ensure I mention it. Also: If you notice a mistake in the fixtures, please let me know and I can correct it. We've seen over the last few weeks how support can make a big difference to a team; so do make an effort to get out.

Juvenile Hurling
The U15s take on Ballyboden in Cherryfield at 11:30 on Sunday morning. This is a division 1 second place play off.
Minor Camogie

U21 Hurling
Our U21 Hurlers are in the Final of the Dublin Minor Hurling A championship. It's against Na Fianna and is out in O'Toole Park.  That's on this Satuday at 2:30pm. Why not tag yourself as coming along?

C'mon, we're getting bored. Are you done yet?

Nearly.

A quick shout out to those who have organised and attended the level 1 coaching course. It's 5 classes of 3 hours, so a 15 hour commitment, from 30 of our mentors, from both boys and girls section. It's been run by our GPO, Emma and her twin sister Louise, and the feedback is everyone is learning tons. Phew. I make that 480 hours in total, all been given up by volunteers in the club to improve their skills, and make training better for our kids. Hats off to everyone. We thank you, truly.

Congratulations are in order to Niamh Hetherton. Not content to be on our Minor 1 and Senior 1 camogie teams, she's also contesting ladies all Ireland intermediate club final, playing for Clontarf. Best of luck Hedgeo!

The minor campaign is continuing to reap rewards: Minor 2 have made the semi final (December 2, we'll remind you) after a win against Crokes last weekend; If our Minor 3s win this weekend, they're automatically though to the final. Keep on winning girls!
