Prince Philip was recently involved in a violent car crash which almost took the lives of two women an a nine-month-old baby.

The incident took place on Thursday, January 17, 2019, on the busy A149 road near the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England.

It has been reported that the Prince had to be pulled from the wreckage of his Land Rover through the roof and that he seemed concerned about the well-being of the other three victims.

HE BLAMED THE SUN'S GLARE

The 97-year-old was helped by a man named Roy Warne, who witnessed the accident and immediately pulled over to make sure everyone was okay.

According to Prince Philip, the sun was in his eyes, which was why he didn't realize he was near the intersection. As he drove in, the other car, a Kia, collided with the Land Rover at 60 mph.

PRINCE CHARLES' CONCERNS

It is believed that Prince Philip has an up to date driving license, which is renewed every three years, but it is unclear when he took his last test.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward claimed that Prince Charles has always worried about his father's willingness to drive at such an advanced age.

POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES

The Norfolk Police is currently investigating the case and Philip is set to be questioned once he's feeling better. If found guilty of the crash, he could be prosecuted for reckless driving and lose his license.

The identities of the victims are yet to be revealed but it has been reported that they didn't suffer any life-threatening injuries and the baby was unharmed.

NO FATALITIES

One of the women broke her arm in the collision while the other injured her knee. They were both rushed to a nearby hospital after being helped by witnesses.

According to Prince Philip, the sun was in his eyes, which was why he didn't realize he was near the intersection.

One of the most curious aspects of the crash was the absence of a royal protection officer, which, according to Ken Wharfe, Prince Diana's bodyguard, is a protocol breach that should be looked into.

THE ROYALS' PASSION FOR DRIVING

But, despite the crash, a brand new Land Rover was delivered at Sandringham less than 24 hours after the incident, suggesting that Philip may not be done with driving just yet.

Driving is one of the greatest pleasures of Queen Elizabeth, who, just like her husband, is quite fond of Rovers. She is known for driving her Range Rover from time to time, with and without protection.

The vehicle is one of the three cars owned by the monarch, along with a Jaguar Daimler Double Six Long-Wheelbase Saloon and a Bentley State Limousine, and costs around $400,000.
