Projekt Ilaiyaraaja

Anbin Mugavari released in 1985 when Mohan was in his peak and Ilaiyaraaja was working like a machine. He had a total of 52 movies released in that year (one every week on an average). He gave us some beautiful hits like Sindhu Bhairavi, Uyarntha Ullam, Pillai Nila, Pagal Nilavu, Geethanjali, Poove Poochudava and many more.

Although the songs would have been popular when they got out, some of the songs are forgotten because the movies were flops. Anbin Mugavari is one such. The songs are amazing, but the film was terrible.

If you want to listen to 16th-century Tremolos, Bach period concerto, acoustic drums and 20th Century Jazz in one song, this is the one — an absolute bliss to listen.

Blast from the Past

I featured one of the other songs from the movie in Season 1, and it’s equally brilliant.
