Jill Myles has been an incurable romantic since childhood. She reads all the 'naughty parts' of books first, looks for a dirty joke in just about everything, and thinks to this day that the Little House on the Prairie books should have been steamier.
After devouring hundreds of paperback romances, mythology books, and archaeological tomes, she decided to write a few books of her own - stories with a wild adventure, sharp banter, and lots of super-sexy situations. She prefers her heroes alpha and half-dressed, her heroines witty, and she loves nothing more than watching them overcome adversity to fall into bed together.
I didn’t realize how much I missed Nick and Daisy until I picked up this novella. Reading their love story melted my heart like a fire burned a marshmallow. *Sigh* They really are a perfect couple! I admired the strong and deep feelings they had for each other. Daisy is a wonderful woman and Nick is such a sweetheart.
Nick, oh Nick...I loved this man!
This was a sweet and beautiful addition to the series. I just wish the book was longer…
Loved it anyway!

“You are my beloved, Daisy, as I am yours. Do not ever let go.”
Until you, Daisy. When I see you and your smile, I suddenly realized my whole soul’s purpose was to find you and become yours. I am clay in your hands. My life, my heart, it is all yours. That you would claim me as your own is the greatest gift you could have ever given.” “You’re my heart Nick. I claim you.”
Human life is short, a mere blue dot in the universe that appears and then disappears in the blink of an eye. But the love of two people? It is the very essence of being.
I went looking for this novella on Amazon and couldn’t find it. I was having a fit because I wanted more Nikolai and Daisy! Then I learned that this is a freebie from the author and it was a very short holiday treat! I loved it, I just wished it was longer!
The story is basically of Nikolai and Daisy getting ready for Christmas and then sharing the special day! I would recommend reading the first book before this one because without the knowledge of these two’s history... it wouldn’t be as special! I could read about them a lot more if I could! I adore them as a couple!
I just finished Last Hit yesterday and was surprised to find this novella.
This was short and sweet and to see Nikolai and Daisy settling into their new life together filled me with so much joy. I just miss Nikolai POV so much, this guy was hilarious while being completed serious with himself.
Imagine him trying to have a normal domestic life, while gearing up for WWII.
Thank you, Jesicca for this little Christmas gift.
I see her beautiful soul, white and glowing, and next to it is my soul, smaller, but within her circle of light.
Although short "Last Gift (Hitman, #1.5)" was a sexy memorable Christmas story featuring Nick Anders and Daisy Miller from "The Last Hit (Hitman, #1)". Loved this couple and the love they still have and show towards one another!
But Nick still thinks like a hitman and he has jokes like: “Da, I run over motorist on the way here. Very satisfying.”
Daisy's gift is Nikolai's drawing on her heart: “You once told me that your tattoos tell your story and I want mine to do the same.” and he is almost speechless but tears fall.
His words after her gift to him:
“When I am born, it is to a woman who has no name. She is a prostitute for the Bratva. They take me from her and maybe she bears more sons or daughters. The Bratva is my family. The gun is the teat from which I draw my sustenance. I grow strong feeding off the suffering of others until one day it sickens me and I turn away, abandoning the strict principles I have been taught as a Bratva soldier. But in turning away from the Bratva, I leave the only family I know. It is fine, I tell myself, because I need no one. Until you, Daisy. When I see you and your smile, I suddenly realized my whole soul’s purpose was to find you and become yours. I am clay in your hands. My life, my heart, it is all yours. That you would claim me as your own is the greatest gift you could have ever given.”
"But the love of two people? It is the very essence of being."
Can't wait to read Regan (Daisy's bff and roommate) and Daniel's story in book #3 , "Last Breath".
'My poor Nick, brought up since childhood by the Bratva, raised to be a killer. Any kindness or softness he might have known before me was all an act, something he paid someone to do for him. The Bratva trained him to be an assassin; they did not train him to be a normal man."
I want my own Nikolai. I loved how Nick had to recall what Daisy said about him being nice and interacting with people. Those scenes made me laugh out loud.
My only disappointed...it ended too quickly. I wanted more. I can not get enough of Nick and Daisy.
Help!! I’ve fallen in love, and I can’t get up!! ;;)) Mercy..it doesn’t get any better than Nikolai! I really liked Daisy in this one too! I usually don’t give novellas this short 5 stars, but this one just did it for me! Love this couple times a million!!!
This is a bite-sized novella read almost like an extended epilogue of Daisy and Nikolai. It’s short but definitely hit that sweet spot. Daisy and Nikolai are now living together and attending school there more in love than ever and this takes place around the festive period. Nikolai was his usual totally badass and literal self, I do find his observations so amusing. I have such a soft spot for his total cluelessness finding it incredibly endearing. This also had such a large dose of sentimentality running straight through it and I very much enjoyed a glimpse into Nikolai and Daisy’s future.
It was like a bonus chapter for my fave Nicko and Daisy from Last Hit and it was an absolute cuteness with some really good steam and a total bliss to read and see that they are happy. I know I am.
SUPER FAST REVIEW: Cute, fluffy Christmas sequel. Okay, so it is not nearly as interesting and gripping as Last Hit and unfortunately there is zero action (well, zero non-sexual action that is). That being said it is a cute little story that is masterfully written, funny and very sexy. Overall nothing particularly amazing but if you read and enjoyed Last Hit (which is a book that I highly recommend) this is a nice free short story that certainly put a smile on my face!
I loved it! Wish it was longer. I adore Nikolai so much and I love how he loves Daisy! She is so good to him too! I hope we get more of these two! Happy only though- I never want to see Nikolai and Daisy ruined by any typical drama
One of my favorite all time books is Last Hit by these authors. I’ve had this novella set aside for way too long with no justifiable reason for not reading before now. With a few hours open during this last week, I stumbled across it and jumped right in. And promptly remembered exactly why I loved the story of Nikolai and Daisy so much.
This was a fast read with all the feels that I experienced in the original story and all the charm of these characters. Not sure if it’s on sale anywhere or if you can get it from the authors’ websites, but it’s worth digging around for a copy.
I really enjoyed this super cute very short Christmas novella that continues Nikolai & Daisy’s story. I loved getting a glimpse into their happily ever after!
