Program for the Evening
Khari Joyner | In the Courtyard | 6–8 PM
Listen to Khari Joyner, one of the leading cellists of his generation, play in the Courtyard. A passionate advocate for the music of today, his most recent accomplishments include performing the world premiere of MacArthur Genius Tyshawn Sorey's Cycles of My Being, the New York premiere of Kaija Saariaho's cello concerto Notes on Light, and the world premiere of Carman Moore's MADIBA for cello and orchestra. He also gave a private performance for former President Barack Obama in the Oval Office.
Art-Making | In the Studio | 5:30–8:30 PM
Create a layered artwork with watercolor and mark-making by reflecting on your past life experiences and envisioning your best future self.
Gallery Talks | Throughout the Museum | 7 & 7:30 PM
Learn about works of art that challenged the status quo in their time on a tour through the galleries with Museum Teacher Andrea Bonanno.
MassLEAP Poets | In the Living Room | 6:30 & 7:30 PM
Witness amazing poets and MassLEAP alums perform sets in response to the theme "Where I Stand."
Brian McGinnis | In Calderwood Hall | 7 & 8 PM
Embody your story through movement-mapping workshops with Brian McGinnis. Reflect on where you are now by creating an abstract drawing—then bring that drawing to life through your own groovy style.
