Apple Announces 9th Generation iPad

Apple's 9th generation iPad, featuring the A13 Bionic chipset and a 10.2-inch Retina display with True Tone, will start from RM1,499.

Powered by the A13 Bionic chipset, it is claimed to deliver a 20% performance boost over its predecessor, up to 3 times faster than the best-selling Chromebook, and up to 6 times faster than the best-selling Android tablet. The 10.2-inch Retina display comes with a light TrueTone sensor which will automatically adjust the screen to the temperature of the room.

It houses a 12 MP f/2.4 selfie camera with a 122-degree field of view and the Centre Stage technology. The Centre Stage technology pans and zooms in a camera's field of view to get the perfect shot during a FaceTime call or a video conference. It also packs an 8 MP wide rear camera.

Running on the iPadOS 15, the new iPad comes in 2 storage variants: 64 GB and 256 GB. Other new features include Split View and Slide Over, new widgets layout, Quick Notes, Translate app, Live Text, Focus, and a new Portrait Mode in FaceTime.

The 9th generation iPad will be available in space grey and silver. Starting with the 64 GB storage option, the Wi-Fi model is priced at RM1,499 while the one with an additional cellular option is priced at RM2,119. On the other hand, the 256 GB model is priced at RM2,149 and RM2,769 for the Wi-Fi model and the extra cellular option, respectively.

Additionally, you can buy the iPad's peripherals separately. The 1st generation Apple Pencil is available at RM419 while the Smart Keyboard is available at RM649. Apple also offers Smart Covers for the iPad in black, white, and English lavender at RM 229.
