Story
For the children supported by Me2 Club volunteers their favourite weekly activities have had to stop, and they are missing being able to spend this time with the friends they have made.
Over the last eight months, everyone at Me2 Club has been working hard to move our support online so that children can continue taking part in fun social activities to help tackle feelings of isolation and to give parents/carers some valuable respite.
What Me2 Club has been doing and helping me to do for the members during lockdown has brightened up my life during these troubling times and I'm sure it has had the same effect on its members. I've really enjoyed the last 2 sessions, particularly the workout one and I'm looking forward to future sessions too!
We need your help to continue running these online sessions whilst planning for a safe return to face-to-face activities.
We offer a varied programme of activities from arts, crafts and games as well as physical exercise, working in partnership with local sport providers. For children making sure they can burn off energy and stay active during this period is crucial for their physical and mental well-being.
More than ever we need to continue supporting our vulnerable families as, according to a report by the Disabled Children's Partnership, 70%-80% of parents of disabled children report worsening emotional and mental health for their children and themselves.
It was lovely to see such a huge smile on his face and doing what any 8-year-old should be doing, just having fun with no worries about what else is going on!
