The Benefactor is the second book in Nana Malone's See No Evil trilogy and picks up where Big Ben left off. It's fast-paced and action-packed; full of suspense, drama, and steam. In this book, Ben and Livy's lives start to intertwine more and more. We also get to see some characters from Ms. Malone's previous books (Hello, Alexi, and Xander!). As with Big Ben, The Benefactor ends with a major cliffhanger, leaving me, once again, anxiously waiting for the next (and last) book in this trilogy. The Benefactor is a contemporary workplace, billionaire romance written in dual first-person POV. It's the second book in a trilogy and it ends with a cliffhanger. No cheating. I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

If readers learn anything from Book 1 in the series it is to expect the unexpected. I am trying to keep this review spoiler-free as possible. However, I will say much like Olivia you might want to take a few notes along the way. Also, I wanted to have a quick little “chat” with our beloved main couple particularly Olivia (Girl, what are you doing?). At this point, I am suspicious of anyone until proving otherwise. Lastly, to the author that cliffhanger was so rude and I demand an apology (Kidding … maybe). I am looking forward to seeing how things will wrap up in the final book of the series.

The Queen of Cliffhangers does it again in this second book about Ben and Olivia. This book starts by rescuing the reader from the cliffhanger from Big Ben. Ben explains to Olivia that he has possibly put her life in danger due to accidentally involving her in a secret mission to unseat the leader of a powerful secret group. His quest to protect her, not only as his employee, but also as his girlfriend, becomes a huge rift in their relationship since Ben initially withheld the level of danger she might be in. As a result, the majority of this book surrounds Ben's attempts to get Olivia to trust him again. Meanwhile, Olivia receives good news about the book she's trying to finish, that her mother started, surrounding the disappearance and presumed death of her friend. Ben and his fellow London Lords friends seek out assistance from Prince Lucas to help with their cause which inevitably brings additional members from the Winston Isles. As they plot out and execute their plan, something goes awry which leaves us with another cliffhanger! Is this because of the London Lords, or does it have to do with the book Olivia is trying to finish? Nana Malone, please tell us quickly!
