The Eagles welcomed back defensive tackle Tim Jernigan, who agreed to terms on a one-year deal Thursday.
Jernigan was a valuable piece on defense in the Eagles' Super Bowl LII run as he started 15 games at defensive tackle alongside Fletcher Cox and registered 34 tackles, 18 QB pressures and hits, nine tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 492 snaps.
Offseason surgery leading into the 2018 campaign limited Jernigan to 46 defensive snaps in three regular-season games, but his play picked up in the postseason as he had four tackles, three QB pressures and hits, and a sack in the two contests.
The 6-2, 295-pound Jernigan will only turn 27 in September as he prepares for his sixth NFL season.
Originally a second-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2014 out of Florida State, Jernigan was acquired by the Eagles in a trade during the 2017 offseason. In 61 career regular-season games (42 starts), Jernigan has 129 tackles, 54 QB pressures and hits, 26 tackles for loss, and 15.5 sacks.
