Beaches across southern Maine have been packed as people try to cool off from the heat.
People are required to wear masks at beaches when social distancing isn't possible.
Keith Willett, the life guard captain at Old Orchard Beach, says most people have respected the rules even over the weekend, which has been the busiest of the summer.
"Right now, we're enforcing it. We're wearing masks whenever we have person-to-person contact where we're within six feet, but overall people have been pretty receptive to the six feet rule,” said Willett.
He says there were no issues at Old Orchard Beach on Sunday.
