Hers to Forget
Teddy was simply my brother-in-law’s foul-mouthed little brother. He became my best guy friend when he was fourteen. This is my first book by Avery Samson and I really enjoyed it! Cute and quick steamy read with characters you’re pulling for. Cute older woman/younger man trope with a hero not afraid of a heroine with career goals and a willingness to follow her to the ends of the earth! Hers to Forget is a novella in the Sideswiped Series by Avery Samson. It is a standalone, but interconnected with the previous books in the series.

Sophia and Teddy’s romance is a quick read that brings together the siblings of Izzy and Grayson from the first book in the series. This relationship has been destined since these characters first meet at the epic Thanksgiving dinner when Izzy took Grayson and Teddy home with her.
Sophia is a few years older than Teddy but that hasn’t dampened their attraction to each other, it’s just prevented her from pursuing anything romantic with him. A quick trip to London and a dinner between them is enough to ignite a passionate encounter.
This novella brings Izzy, Grayson and their children to London to check on Teddy. This gives us a chance to meet their children, who seem adorable, and to learn what their friends Dia/Marc’s, Lily/Matt, Colin/Maggie and Claire/Alex have been up to since the previous book in the series.
I really love the characters from this series and enjoyed the quick read to see Sophia and Teddy’s beginnings and to catch up on the other characters. I enjoy Avery’s writing style and her ability to capture my attention with her storytelling which always includes some laughter and hilarity, steamy scenes, friendship between multiple characters, and of course romance. The angst level is typically low and rarely in the actual relationship, but in the situation the characters find themselves in that might be separating them initially and need working through for the HEA.

Avery Samson is a new to me author so I had no idea what to expect going in. This is supposed to be a standalone, but I'm wondering if there is more to Teddy and Sophia's story mentioned throughout previous books because I didn't feel any connection between them. As a reader I was told that they fell in love years ago as teens, but have been living separate lives for years. For two people who seemingly hid their true feelings for one another they were quick to declare their undying love. There were no scenes or details that made me feel like they knew each other well aside from Teddy's foul mouth and the constant attention he gets as a result. There were some timing issues that confused me. For example, one instant Teddy was nervous about Sophia's visit being three days away, but the next paragraph starts by saying she'll be there the next day. There are no page breaks between "scene" changes and it caught me off guard more than once. Overall, the story was just okay for me. There we're some funny moments, and I feel like the writing got a bit better by the end, but the plot was all over the place and not very believable. I'm not opposed trying a longer novel by the author, maybe she just had a hard time fitting this story to be a novella.

Teddy has been in love with Sophia since he first saw her when he was fourteen. Sophia was older and beautiful and kind. The summer he was seventeen and she was fresh out of college they spent together with their families. Out of the blue five years later Sophia calls and asks to meet him for lunch. After that day things are never the same. Teddy will walk though fire, war zones and storms to keep from losing Sophia. Very sweet love story with lots of laughs as well!

Second Chance, Career Orientated, with heart and spice! The perfect combination.
This is not the first book in the series, however it can be read as a stand alone. And technically it is not even a full novel in the series. But do not let that dissuade you! This book was amazing, and once you do read it, you will want to read them all.

I love this series! Her’s To Forget is a great addition! Teddy and Sophie’s story had emotions, heartache, hope and heat. They had been friends that had feelings for each other, but never acted on them. When they did you got an amazing romance! I loved this story! I’m eager to see what Avery gives us next!

Hers to Forget is a short story that is full of heart about Teddy and Sophia. They have known each other a long time and their relationship has slowly evolved over the years. I liked Teddy and Sophia and thought they were great together and I enjoyed reading their story. I was rooting for them to have their HEA. I enjoyed reading this wonderful and emotional story.

I enjoyed everything about Teddy and Sophia’s story. I loved that it was emotional and I loved watching their relationship evolve. Overall, an enjoyable story and one I recommend adding to your TBR.

Short and sweet but I feel like having not read any other books in the series I may have missed out a bit on parts of the background between this couple.
It took me a little while to get into the story but by about 3/4 of the way thru I was enjoying it.

Hers to Forget is a friends to lovers romance with a lot of emotion, heat and laugh out loud moments. Teddy and Sophia were always close to each other when they were younger, so it was great to see the way their relationship grew over the years. I loved Teddy. He was willing to do anything to keep from losing Sophia. I really enjoyed this sweet romance.
