Stylish Indian batsman KL Rahul recently engaged with his fans via a Question-Answer session where he answered a plethora of questions ranging from his favorite IPL team, his most memorable moment to his all-time favorite batsman.

During the session, one of his fans came up with a pretty interesting question as to who in KL Rahul’s opinion could break Yuvraj Singh’s record of scoring the fastest half-century in the history of Twenty20 International cricket.

Yuvraj Singh, of-course, created that record during his iconic 16-ball 58 against England during the 2007 T20 World Cup; an innings that saw the southpaw hit Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over.

Yuvraj got to his 50 in a mere 12 balls and since then many batsmen have come close to scaling his feat but with little success. But KL Rahul thinks he can be the one who can possibly leapfrog Yuvraj and register the fastest T20I half-century.

I think it’s got to be me,” Rahul answered to the fan’s query.

And, quite frankly, not a lot of people will disagree with the Karnataka batsman over his choice. After all, KL Rahul has been one of the most prolific scorers in T20 cricket for some time now.

The swashbuckling opener holds the record of the fastest half-century in the history of the Indian Premier League. The current KXIP captain achieved that feat against Delhi Capitals back in 2018.

Rahul racked up a half-century in a mere 14 balls in a glittered with 6 sumptuous fours and 4 authoritative sixes. As far as international T20s are concerned, Rahul is one of three Indian batsmen besides Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina who have scored a three-figure score.

Overall, in 41 T20Is that KL Rahul has played, the flamboyant batsman has racked up 1461 runs at an average of 45.66 with the help of 11 50s and two hundreds. Rahul was at the height of his powers as a limited-overs batsman during the 2019-20 season and everyone was looking forward to seeing him continue his form for the Kings XI Punjab in the 13th edition of the IPL but for the coronavirus that has proceeded to put the tournament on the backburner for an indefinite period of time.
