It was lyrics at first sight when I saw Violet Rhodes across that crowded party. She was lights and darks, swirled together. Music in motion. And all of it while looking like a hitwoman at an Elvis convention.
I had nothing to offer the intriguing girl but a one-night stand. I figured I’d revel in my last night of anonymity before my first tour and shoot her a quick “We’ll always have L.A.!” goodbye the next morning.
But nothing went according to plan.
In one night, Violet crawled under my skin and into my bloodstream. She tattooed her name across my chest and between my legs. She became my muse. And then she was gone.
Now, months later, here she is again. And in a twist I never saw coming, it turns out Violet is ultra-violet radiation. Beautiful, ethereal light bringing with her the promise of damage and destruction.
My brain tells me to walk away from this girl, but my heart can’t stop feeling like she might be one of a kind . . . the sort of girl who comes along once in a violet moon.

"I don't get butterflies when you laugh...I get fireflies. I feel lit up from deep inside.”

The Morgan Brothers may be one of my top series now. I swear, I can’t get enough of this family! I would say I’m sad it’s over, but I know I have the Kat/Josh books and Reed Rivers trilogy to look forward to.

The fifth and youngest Morgan brother, aka the Rockstar is struck by love at first site when it comes to Violet, but the timing couldn’t be more wrong for him. His band just got their big break and they’re going on an eight month tour so he leaves Violet behind hoping when he gets back he can get back with her.

Only it’s more complicated than that… in more way than one. I was trying to figure out the connections and I had one right but the other completely wrong. Either way, things were not easy for this couple but Dax, like the other Morgans, won’t give up on his true love.

Violet and Dax were an amazing couple. This was a little on the angsty side at times, but I still had so much fun with it. These books have so much heart and I love them so much. Also, once again I’ll rave about the audiobooks. They are MUST listens! I can’t recommend this series enough.

Could have been better

I was really looking forward to Dax’s story. I hate what the author decided to do to Dax. She took the cheap easy route and gave him a “boys will be boys” excuse for his behavior. He meets this awesome girl that he has a soul connection with and instead of taking the harder path and ignoring the temporarily temptations of the road, this author made Dax a typical loser who goes nuts, screwing, drugging, and drinking his way through the tour. But our course when the tour is over he is still in love with Violet (insert eye roll here). So as if this “romance” was written by a man, Violet has subconsciously “waited” for this guy for 8 months, while he screwed his way through Europe. And somehow (even though she has already had the experience of a rockstar relationship where she was cheated on, and now Dax has proven he is nothing but a cliche) she still decides that he is worth the risk. In don’t understand why authors do this. They create this world where they draw us in, and we want to see the whole family. Then they take characters that we have developed a relationship with and then them into cliched jerks. Again I feel like this was written by a man, because this is a guys wet dream. He meets the love of his life but she’s so self sacrificing that he gets to go out for almost a year and make every bad decision that he wants; before coming back and sealing the deal with her. No woman I know would find this romantic. I mean really, what are Violets bragging rights? “he went on tour and screwed 50 women, but still wanted me. Awe shucks I’m so exited that I’m special that I won’t be picturing the 50 women he’s been with since me at all”... He had a way to reach her the entire time, but didn’t use it. He blamed her not directly giving him her number as his excuse to meltdown. Sorry I hate the “boys will be boys” excuse more than I hate bad writing. Get some integrity and don’t sell out your characters for lazy writing. Wait until you can do them justice before writing their story.

This book was so great! Lauren Rowe is one of my favorite authors and this book solidified that.

Dax Morgan is so amazing! He has such a beautiful soul. He’s so sexy and has a huge heart just like all the other Morgan’s. I just love him. When he first meets Violet sparks fly. You know from that moment that they are meant to be together. After one night of not only incredible passion and chemistry but deep conversations and sharing of souls they are bound to each other. The timing is not right though and they go their separate ways.

Violet is an amazing woman. I loved her! She’s perfect for Dax and I am so happy she finally found someone that loved her deeply and unconditionally. She truly deserves to be happy and loved.

Overall this was a great contemporary romance. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a book that’s not your typical rockstar romance, this goes much more deeper than that. So good!!

Lauren Rowe truly outdid her own self. If I could give this amazing book more than 5 stars I would. I feel as though I’m in some euphoric universe right now. Truly floating on feels. I haven’t highlighted a book up like I have this one—ever. So many lol, tear jerking, heart slamming moments. I can’t wait to experience this audio as I know it will be epic. This story really touched my heart in a “close to home” way as it reminded me of what my husband and his family did for me.

I could so identify with Violet. Coming from a broken family, and with all the insecurities that come with that. What doesn’t kill you truly does make you stronger, and that would definitely be our beloved Violet. Her character was so refreshingly Different as all Lauren’s characters are. Her beauty, strength, pride and dignity couldn’t have been more beautifully displayed, and Lauren did a brilliant job in showcasing those characteristics.

Daxy Morgan, where do I even begin with you. As I’m writing this now I have tears in my eyes because I love you the most. Whew, this man and the awesomeness that he has become. Flawed, like every human being, but man, has a huge heart, and does it love BIG! I wouldn’t expect anything less from a Morgan. Words fail me at the moment as I am literally still in my feels from finishing, but just know this, Dax Morgan has my heart. Such a fierce protector, passionate lover, and knows how to get the job done, Son!

Last, but far from being the least...those amazing Morgan’s. Thomas, Momma Lou, Colby, Ryan, Keane, Kat, and extended family—melted my heart and soul forever. I’ve shed more tears of happiness and deep joy over this family more than any other. They are the real deal, ya feel me? There’s no way you can even begin to understand the depth and magnitude of this family and the imprint they’ve made on my heart forever. I love them so much.

It takes a lot for me to say this because anyone that knows me, KNOWS how crazy I am about ALL Lauren’s books, but THIS one is my fave. I love them all the most though.♥️

This is a stand alone that puts fire in your soul for more!

FAN GIRL DOWN!!! This book was true love. Dax and Violet's journey was freaking fantastic. From their instant connection through the separation all the way to the end my heart was aching for them. The love, not only between Dax and Violet, but the whole Morgan Mafia, just leaps off the page. Plus the music!! OMG the lyrics were so amazing. Don't miss the unique experience Lauren Rowe has offered with the YouTube link! I am going to miss all the Morgans and their craziness, especially the nicknames, and I am so glad that I stumbled upon this series. I can not recommend it enough.

I don’t think I could love Dax and Violet more! Lauren Rowe has truly outdone herself this time. This book was magical and I feel the fireflies. Gah! It was so so good.

Here’s what you need to know:
Dax and Violet are fire. Their chemistry jumps off the page. I was completely consumed by their fire!
Dax is such a freaking sweetheart. He’s not what you expect when you think Rockstar. He’s a Morgan through and through.
I never thought another Morgan book would hold a flame to Hero, (see what I did there) but I was so wrong. I loved seeing Colby in this book, but Dax completely stood on his own and loved this book nearly as much as Hero.
The storyline just worked for me. The writing is good. Its the signature wit and charm Lauren is known for. You will feel all the feels and also laugh. It’s TOP Notch!!

Highly recommended!

This author provided videos for some of the songs that the character Dax wrote in this book. And, the cover model from this book is in the video.

“Music. It’s everything to me. When I’m writing a song and it’s flowing, that’s like a hand job for my soul. When it’s finished and I get to play it for the first time from beginning to end, that’s the blow job. When I play it for someone else for the first time, that’s fucking. And when I perform it for a whole club full of people...” I shudder. “Oh, baby, that’s the orgasm.”

**Synopsis:**
Violet is in LA for the weekend and she meets Dax at a party. There is instant attraction and they have a steamy night of passion. Their connection isn’t fleeting and they are convinced they’ve found something special and are kindred spirits. However, Violet finds out Dax is on the cusp of something really big and for reasons only she knows, she backs away.

~ “A lot can happen in eight months, Dax—especially to a guy going on a world tour with Red Card Riot.” She smiles mournfully. “Enjoy the ride, David Jackson. I swear, I’ll be cheering you on, every step of the way. No matter what happens, even if our paths never cross again, please know I’ll never, ever forget you or this magical night.”
With that, she blows me a kiss and slips out the door, taking a piece of my heart with her.”

Dax’s life is getting ready to change as his band (22 Goats) embarks on an 8 month world tour with one of the hottest bands around. The expectation is, by the end of the tour 22 Goats will be a sensation.

~ ”Once the world sees you in that scorching-hot music video on Sunday, the song is going to start rocketing up the charts. And once that happens, hold onto your nuts, Golden Boy. You three goats—but especially you—won’t be able to walk down the street in any city of the tour without getting mobbed.”

As predicted, the Goats hit it big. Violet consumes Dax’s heart and thoughts and most of his songwriting is inspired by her.

~ ”As much as it pains me to admit, I think Violet was right. She just did me a huge favor. She set me free to fully experience whatever’s coming my way, without guilt or trepidation. She gave me the gift of complete freedom, coupled with hope that, one day, when and if the timing is right for us, we’ll reconnect.”

On the last night of the tour, Dax comes face to face with the woman who hasn’t left his heart. Problem is, she failed to tell him a few critical things before she walked out the door and rekindling their relationship might come with some unexpected complications.

** The following are my thoughts about this book: **

* * l loved the “Ask Me Anything” questions when they first met. Not only did it establish a good connection between the H/h, but it also allowed the reader to get to know them and understand who they were

* * I wish Dax wouldn’t have fallen into the typical “rockstar” character (i.e. sex, drugs and rock-n-roll) while touring. He had such a great connection with Violet in the beginning and I thought he might just pine for her while away. But, nope. Although not explicitly written out, it was made clear he lived the very typical touring life and that was a bit disappointing and cliche’.

* * Being on the road established the ties with the other band and that was crucial to understanding Dax’s struggle with telling the truth after the tour. So I am glad we spent some time reading about the tour and the things the band experienced.

* * I did like the twist involved. I was positive I knew how it would unfold and when the author took the twist in a different direction, it made the reveal a nice surprise and added a different layer to the story.

* * I loved Dax’s family. I really want to go read all the other stories in this series. And…..can they adopt me??? 😀

* * the guys from 22 Goats were good together. Friends who started a band and made it big. They had each other’s back and that was great to see.

**Overview:**
- Content Warning: none.
- Setting: touring and California. A little bit in Seattle
- Do you need to read previous books in series?: No. However, this is the fifth book in the Morgan family series and the various characters from the series are very present in this book. It didn’t detract from the story, and in fact it made me want to go back and binge read all the previous books. I absolutely loved the Morgan family!!!
- POV: Dual POV
- Tropes: rockstar

- Who is the Hero? Dax Morgan (age: 22). Front man for the now famous band, 22 Goats
* The following words/phrases were used to describe Hero: charismatic, confident, youngest of 5 siblings, doesn’t conform, has always had a need to distinguish himself from others, stands out - doesn’t blend in, honest - not a bullshitter
* H likable? Yes. Dax had a sensitive and humble side to him and was very easy to like.

- Who is the Heroine? Violet Rhodes (age: 21). Studying fashion design at an art school in Rhode Island and wants to be a costume designer for the entertainment industry. She started a club at school called The Superhero Project. They create customized superhero costumes for kids with cancer.
~ ”Not known superheroes like Superman or Batman. We turn each kid into their own original superhero.”
* The following words/phrases were used to describe Heroine: intriguing, elegant, sexy, quirky, magnetic, she’s no shrinking Violet, has major trust issues, abandonment issues
* h likable? Yes. She was sweet.

- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 7%
- First time they sleep together: 7%
- First time they say I Love You 81%
- steamy? Yes. Descriptive bedroom scenes
- OW/OM drama? some
- H/h cheat? technically no. But Dax definitely slept with others when he was on tour. I don’t think a Violet slept with anyone else during their time apart, although she did date someone.
- Time apart? 8 months
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? Violet has a secret and Dax finds out around 38%. I will say that I was expecting something different, so the reveal took me by surprise too.
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? I smirked a bit. The Morgan family has a fun dynamic
- Did I swoon🥰? a guy who writes love songs….umm-that’s a no brainer when it comes to swooning
- Cliffhanger? No
- HEA? Yes
- Epilogue? 9 months later
- Recommend? yes

**Quotes**
“Pretty girls are a dime a dozen,” I say. “But a girl who lights up a room? A girl with charisma—whose personality shines from across the room? Now, that’s a girl I’m interested in getting to know.”

“Some famous guitarist was shredding on TV and two-year-old me leaped up and passionately started mimicking his actions, thereby earning myself a lifelong family nickname on the spot: Rock Star.”

“Our different backgrounds are probably why we both feel the connection we do. Yeah, I come from a ‘perfect’ family. And yet, my whole life, I’ve felt an ache in my soul I can’t quite shake—a homesickness—unless I’ve got a guitar in my hands. And then there’s you. You come from pain and abandonment and loss. And yet, you light up every room you walk into. As far as I’m concerned, that makes us a perfect fit.”

“If you’re blue, it’s because you’re perfectly human, not because you’re broken,” he whispers.

“Anyone who knows Dax Morgan knows he’s not the least bit bad. Only golden. A momma’s boy who loves his family and friends and only wants to do right by everyone he loves the most.”

I have been anticipating this book nearly as much as I have been anticipating Reed’s book.

Dax has been the enigmatic side character in all of the Morgan Brothers books I’ve read… the character I’ve been anticipating reading about any time he said a single line or was even mentioned in all of the other books… and I finally got my hands on him. Er… I mean… his book.

And I loved it.

Of course. Because, well, Lauren Rowe can pretty much do no wrong in this series for me. She earned my devotion from the very first page of Captain, and I haven’t looked back since.

I feel like it’d been a minute since I’ve been in the Morgan Brothers world, and it was so nice to be a part of that family again.

And I have to admit, as much as I loved Dax, being inside his head made me fall just as much in love with Violet from the time he met her eyes across that party.

Nobody does love at first sight like Lauren Rowe.

I know this isn’t a popular concept among romance readers. It’s a trope that is hard to get behind, but when you have a master at writing chemistry like Lauren, it’s hard to deny.

Lauren makes you believe that The One is a real, attainable thing because you’re feeling it just as much as the characters are.

Nobody, also, throws a wrench into a relationship quite like Lauren Rowe, either.

I’ll leave it at that.

Aside from the novel living up to my very high expectations, Lauren also gave fans like me the added bonus of ACTUAL MUSIC to go along with it. And not just music, but a freaking MUSIC VIDEO with the cover model!

I can’t even.

As if Dax wasn’t already alive and well in my imagination.

I can’t be the only one wishing and hoping for a PassionFlix movie for this series!

Recensione sul Blog Valentina Abbr
https://valentinaabbr.blogspot.com/20...

I’ve spent the last few days fully immersed in Lauren Rowe’s Morgan Brothers series. Rock star romances are my crack and when I was offered this one for review I jumped at it, but one of my fellow reviewers told me I really should read the whole series before I read the ARC of ROCKSTAR, so I took the weekend and read them from book one right through to Rockstar. I enjoyed this series, some books more than others, but I have a soft spot for Rockstar and it’s not just because it’s a rock star romance, it’s because of the connection this couple had from the start, the beautiful way they described it, and the way the hero put his feelings into the very music he created that propelled him and his band into the stratosphere.

As the youngest of 5, Dax Morgan never lacked for an audience and at age 2 when he jammed along to the television his fate was pretty much sealed. Dax is more than a rock star though; he is a songwriter whose music means more to him than fame and fortune. With his brooding super model good looks, and his long golden locks, Dax and his two best friends scored a record contract with River Records and not because his sister is married to Reed River’s best friend, but because the minute Reed saw Dax perform live and listen to the songs he’d written he knew he struck gold. Beyond the music Dax is a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend and one the night before he leaves on tour opening for Red Card Riot, he meets a woman with whom he has an instant connection, but she lets him go knowing that the fame he’s about to encounter will change everything even though it breaks both their hearts.

One thing Violet Rhodes’ knows when she walks into a Hollywood part with her best friend is that this is not her normal life, but for some inexplicable reason she is drawn to the man sitting on the sofa with the long, blond locks calls to her and the dudes coming on to her have nothing on him. He seems distracted and he keeps doing something on his phone, but when their eyes lock she sees something in them and as he walks towards her she feels sure her life will never be the same.

In some ways Rockstar was your typical sex, drugs and rock and roll story and in other ways it was the furthest thing from that lifestyle and I loved that about this book. It showed how the stress of fame makes people act and do things that are so atypical of their normal selves, it shows that no matter how grounded you are that it is easy to lose yourself, and it shows that for some people love is more important than anything else even when you value your friendships as much as your family. I loved that while this couple got their happily ever after despite some really low points in their lives and relationship, that for Dax not everything was tied up in a nice, neat little bow, but for the love of his life he was willing to make a sacrifice to have her in his life.

Rockstar had a lot of depth, the characters grew throughout this book, there was some angst but not so much that this book was a complete downer, and it couldn’t have been anyway with the Morgan family involved, those people don’t let anyone be down for long. Dax had to grown up a lot in this book, as the baby of five, he’s always had someone to help him fix things in his life, but in this book he had to grow up and fix things on his own and it proved to be very difficult for him and a great learning experience.

Reading the Morgan Brothers series, back to back, basically in one long weekend, I can genuinely say that I saw Ms. Rowe grow in her writing over the course of these books and Rockstar had a greater depth and maturity than the other books.

Far from easy, but completely satisfying Rockstar was an exceptional romance and one I know I’ll read again and again.

PS—Ms. Rowe if you happen to read this, I’m sure your readers are clamoring for stories about Red Card Riot and Reed Rivers, but honestly I need Fish’s story. I need that boy to find a woman who appreciates him and all his wonderfulness because throughout this series, he’s been there quietly in the background and he stood by Jax throughout and even helped Keane in his own crazy way, so please let him be happy with someone who deserves him.

4.5 soulful stars

“Songwriting is my art. It’s what I was born to do. It makes me feel alive. It makes me feel like a superhero.”

We read Rockstar as a standalone, not having read any of the previous books and we can honestly say that this didn’t hamper our enjoyment, rather it has left us wanting to binge read every single book in this series. That is how much we fell in love. Lauren Rowe captured the essence of what makes a rock star romance captivating, which made it live up to its name. We love to feel that chill-inducing moment of the songwriting process as well as the excitement of a live performance. The overwhelming thrill and exhilaration. The power of the music. After all, we’re rock chicks at heart.

“You might crave getting your heart broken, just to see what awesome songs come out of it, But I sure as hell don’t.”

Dax is an intriguing character. A sensitive young man with an old soul. A contemplator and a wordsmith. His heart writes the lyrics to which his voice gives life. We fell in love with him and the relationship he has with his band members as well as his family which was just beautiful to be a part of. He comes across as a reluctant rock star; an introvert living an extroverts lifestyle, wearing his heart on his sleeve and exuding honesty and simplicity. When Dax falls, he falls hard. Everything he feels in his heart and his entire being bubbles underneath the surface of his skin, desperate to be let out, transferring into words on paper; into music. Dax falls hard, he becomes consumed with a girl and her name is Violet.

‘I laugh, simply because she’s so cute. Sexy. Magnetic. Quirky. And my laughter transforms her comical scowl into a beautiful, beaming smile that’s so radiant, so lovely, it leaves a little mark in the shape of a lipstick kiss on my very soul.’

Violet is a bit of an enigma at first. A beautiful girl with an emotional past and a secret. A lonely girl who craves the essence of life; to be wanted and loved. The attraction between Dax and Violet is immediate and a strong connection follows. No road to love in fiction is easy. Battles must be fought, lifestyles must be reconciled and friendships will be tested. Love and family live at the heart of Dax and Violet’s story and it felt like watching a flower grow and unfold, to reveal its beauty whilst turning its face into the sun.

“I just don’t understand why nobody wants me. Why I’m never enough.”

Lauren Rowe wrote a wonderful and honest love story set in the world of music and we loved every moment of it. Whilst we did find odd uses of ‘cheesy’ language, we couldn’t help but fall in love. It had a few surprises and some real angst, the downfalls of fame but mostly it’s all about finding your true love and fighting for it to stay yours.

“There is no such thing as villains. Just a whole bunch of people who are the heroes of their own fucked-up stories.”

Dax Morgan is my kryptonite & he has literally rocked his way into my heart & left my soul basking in a billion sweet soulful stars.

His book is beautiful. This man his beautiful. This woman is beyond beautiful. The rest of the fam are beautiful, my mind is bloom, my smile is killing me & my insides are just a mushy mess.

Dax is the baby of the Morgan clan, yet has the the deepest, oldest, most sensitive soul. Kind of an enigma really & someone I have always been drawn too. Lauren delivered way way more than I bargained for with his journey to stardom & the life lessons he has had to learn & overcome along the way. He made me laugh, smile & cry, many many times. Dax is precious & I loved him hard.

Violet, omg this girl not only hurt my heart, but ruined it too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her so damned much. She is humble, courageous, selfless & beauty personified inside & out. Her story & life lessons were just as important as Dax’s, maybe more so & if I have ever read a heroine who deserves the greatest of lives, surrounded by love, it would be Violet.

I devoured every word, scene, chapter like my next breath depended on it. Their story is packed with emotions that simply FLOWED <3 I felt every high & low bone deep, I felt their connection so vividly, it was like their spirts & their souls came alive on the pages & I was a mere bystander watching through the window of their life. SO SO GOOD.

Lauren has written with such masterful perfection, yet another spectacular Morgan slice of heaven. I want more. I can’t ever get enough ... EVER.

I hope Mamma Lou & Pappa Thomas get a book, Because these are the parents who I have adopted as my own. They inspire me, love me, make me laugh & make me cry. Their love for their family & each other is epic, just like them. And I would love to see their life & love in words, surrounded by their kiddos & grand kiddos doing what they do best . Spreading the purest kinda joy.

So Lauren, yes please with-a cherry on top if your listening GIMMIE MOOORRREEEE.. and can I have a Fish and Colin while you’re at it haha

A Rockin 6 Star Read you all need on your kindles.

Holy fuck, I'd never met the Morgans before this book! They rocked my world and I've found a new book boyfriend in Dax baby!!

My god, Lauren writes some of the best characters I've ever read! She filled this story with so many amazing little details - nicknames, family traditions, family memories and more - as well as some great dialogue between the family members. I adored it all! And I adored Violet too. Oh, and the goats! So many things to love about this story.

Rockstar was full of heart. It drew me in from page one and gave me all the feels! Add this one to your TBR!

I have a lot of feelings about this book.
Everything was very happy, easy. I wanted more objective, sometime the characters stayed back and the family and friends shined.
Unfortunately!

Other than the cliche rockstar trope, I just can't b/c the cover model looks like a totally ripped Lucius Malfoy, and it's creeping me out.

5 indisputable Stars!!!

Just Wow!!! Let me start by saying Rockstar can be read as a Complete standalone, if you’ve never read a book by Lauren then dive on in and fall madly in love.

I’m not sure I have the words needed to expressive how much of a ride this book took me on, you know those fairground rides that you gently sit and spin on and it’s pretty relaxing until out of nowhere someone comes and propels you the other way spinning your world out of control.... This is this book, you will hold your breath, want to scream, cry and throw your book, have some epic WTF moments as you just sit and stare at the words and wonder where the hell that hit came from. Everything you thought you knew where you thought this story was going and where your brain had taken you is ripped away and Bam your spinning uncontrollably again, heart pounding as your eyes are devouring the words needing desperately to know more. The story line will pull you in, hug you tight and if you’ve read any of Lauren’s previous books transport you all the way back to other books with the little easter eggs hidden within this story. If your yet to read anything else by Lauren I can almost guarantee by the time you’ve finished you will be 1 clicking your way through her titles.

Rockstar is a 5 star read and dam I wish I could give it more. A Stand-alone that ignites a fire in your soul for more.

Ugh. I have to write this review. I’m not sure how. I wanna say how I’m feeling, but if I let loose, I’ll give away too much, and you just have to read it for yourself.

I will say this... That Rowe chick... man. She can bring out the extreme emotions in me, which is no easy feat. This book is no exception. It teased me, gave me hope, enraged me, chewed me, picked me up, cradled me to it’s bosom, loved me, and rocked me into oblivion. It takes truckloads of talent to evoke so much emotion in me. (I’m a stone when it comes to emotional reading, trust me.)

I just want more, not the enraging and chewing part necessarily. However, without that, I think the end would have felt less special.

Just read it. It IS an absolute standalone, but there are other books about the Morgan family. I know you’ll want to read the entire series and all Rowe’s other books, and you’ll thank me.

I have a huge amount of love for Lauren and her Morgan family, seriously I just can’t get enough of them and finally, finally we get Dax’ story and what an incredible story it is!!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review

When I first read a book in the Morgan brothers series (Ball Peen Hammer) I was hooked on them all and what their stories would be especially Dax, the rockstar of the family and after years of waiting we’ve finally been blessed with his story, with Rockstar

This book shows you how Dax copes with life on the road, how he manages to live without the one person he can’t have whilst on tour, what it does to him and how he feels.

We get to see Dax’ bond with his family, his band mates and his friends and watching Dax do all of that is absolutely beautiful. This man has such a beautiful soul and the songs he writes, they’re just as beautiful as him. I never knew exactly how much I needed this story until I had it. We also get the pleasure of meeting Violet, this woman is incredible. She goes through a lot, has to deal with a lot but she’s still an amazing, strong woman that you just can’t help but love.

Watching these two together is fun, extremely sexy and at times, heartbreaking. They’ve both got baggage and watching them deal is just..ugh.

Lauren Rowe most definitely knows how to write a book that’ll leave you with so many feels you don’t know what to do with them. Dax and Vi’s story is an emotional one that you’ll love so much.

Rockstar is a fun, sexy but heartbreaking love story that will have you clutching at your heart then smiling so hard. It’s emotional and beautiful and one of my best reads this year.

5 Disco Momma Stars!

Wow! This was my first read by Lauren Rowe, and I was absolutely blown away! I had no idea what I had been missing. This was a sexy and sinful rock star romance at its finest. Dax and Violet were amazing. Their love story was scorching hot, full of heart and sprinkled with humor throughout.

One of the things I loved the most was the Morgan clan. They were accepting, supportive and loved unconditionally. I really enjoyed the dialogue between them, the nicknames, the camaraderie and the endless laughs. They were everything that you could possibly want in a family. I can't wait to go back and read each and every story written about them.

The chemistry between Dax and Violet was magical and sparked from the get go. They were both so passionate and full of love, but their journey was not always an easy one. There were certain issues they had to overcome, but that was part of the enjoyment watching them find their way back to one another.

In all, I absolutely loved Rockstar by Lauren Rowe! Every single word of it. This romance had me laughing, swooning and falling head over heels for each of these characters. Do yourself a favor and pick this book up. The sexy rock star hero and his disco momma queen will quickly capture your heart.

When you open the pages of a book or in my case swipe left on the kindle screen, you are preparing yourself to accept whatever words are typed there. You are preparing yourself to cry, yell, swoon, fall in love, even curse at that page and at times, the author. In the case of Rockstar, you will experience pretty much every emotion on the spectrum (except fear...you will never feel that with a Lauren Rowe book) and you will ultimately enjoy the experience of feeling them.
Rockstar, the latest offering from this author, is a story about, yes a musician, his rock band and the life that goes with it, but surprisingly it is about much more. It is primarily about Family....yes Family. In all its glorious forms, highs and sadly in all its lows.
The family made when mates are brought together because of their love for music.
Family made when two bands and their entourages are brought together in the interest of a world tour.
Family made when two courageous, sensitive souls find themselves captured at first glance across a crowded room.
And Family made, when a broken girl is accepted wholeheartedly by her lover's closest & dearest.
But underpinning all these familial ties, is the notion that whatever is placed before you in life, you must be utterly true to your inner self. Life lessons can be hard learned, but it's how you deal with what is thrown at you that will ultimately set you up for a rewarding mortality.
Lauren Rowe does Family like no one else. Her flare for the quirky makes for a rollercoaster reading experience and if she doesn't win you over by this quality then she damn well will with her ability to squeeze every ounce of emotion out of you with her writing brilliance.
Turbulent, Riotous, Uncannily accurate, but mostly Soul-searingly emotional....this story will leave you wanting more.
A must read!

Despite the fact the the cover is worthy of tons of snark and the model is doing that duck lips thing I hate with the heat of a 1,000 suns, I decided to listen to this.

Sigh.

Y'know the conflict was actually a good one. But I wish if they were gonna have Dax break the bro code it would have been for someone with whom he had really had a longer and deeper bond wirth. Someone with whom you felt like he was really brothers with ( no, not Fish... I would have hated Dax if he'd hurt Fish). I just didn't buy this 'bros for life' after one tour and declaring loudly they were bros for life. But I did buy Violet's unease at being treated like a side piece or someone on the downlow because Dax was too chickenshit to come clean to his 'bro for life' that he was seeing his ex. It was a good scene and a good romantic conflict to hang the story on.

Violet's characterization was confusing. On the one hand she just wants someone to love her just for her and never leave and 'oh why can't someone just want to keep me and stay' and talking about her abandonment issues etc. But on the other hand she dismisses the idea of marriage, proclaiming that just being with someone without the pesky legal papers is enough and if they want to leave it makes leaving easy. Whaaa...? You'd think someone who wants to cling to someone permanently as bad as we are told Violet does would welcome the permanency that a legally binding marriage seems to give. Also I was just annoyed Violet kept referring to Dax as 'This boy'. Just ew.

Dax was just the most overwrought hero I think I ever read. Being in his mind was just too much like being in the head a fevered tween in the throes of first love. I totally pictured him figuratively drawing purple violets with hearts around them between every thought.

There were some things I did like but they were generic, like I said the conflict was a good one and actually provided some great moments dialogue and character interaction and development. I also like the family, I really like his brother Colby and for the smallish bits we get of the fam, they do not disappoint.

But overall this felt rather juvenile in places.

Their song

The multi talented extremely gifted Lauren Rowe has written a superb story in ROCKSTAR. If you have never read her fabulous books then jump off the deck and revel in RockStar. You will then want to read all her other fantastic stories. This love-rock story featuring Dax Morgan and Violet Rhodes has a piece of my heart. From the moment they meet they are fireworks in all the brilliant colors. The FEELS in this book are TREMENDOUS. There are times when you are going along and then BAM you are in another dimension and you never saw it coming. Dax is a caring, sweet, yummy, talented man who truly grows into a RockStar. Violet is also talented, strong, sexy, and a great partner for Dax. We see our beloved Morgan family in all their glory, and I so want to be part of the Morgan family. For me, this story made me feel like I ordered an ice cream sundae and got the super duper deluxe sundae with extra everything with lots of cherries on top! Not only do we have this above and beyond incredible book, we have a video clip, an honest to god music video with our Dax with an original song from the book, and a magazine cover!!!!! Can anyone say EPIC!!!!!! I know I do. As always, Lauren does an amazing job, more than amazing, with her dedication to her story, her research, her love of words, her humor, and all aspects of her book. The absolute best most marvelous thing is we get an epilogue-and not just any epilogue! Sweet baby Jesus, we get Maddy and Keane's Epilogue. What a crowning moment! I so adore Maddy "mad dog" and Keane "Peenie". This book is perfection for me. I am ever grateful that Amazon recommended Lauren to me and am so looking forward to continuing her journey with her next book. I would give this book a million stars.
