Cracker Barrel restaurant breaks ground in Camarillo

Construction started April 15 on the long-delayed Cracker Barrel restaurant at the Camarillo Premium Outlets.

The restaurant has an anticipated opening date of February 2020, according to a Cracker Barrel spokesperson. A previous version of this story quoted an earlier anticipated opening date given in a post on the city’s official Facebook page.

Its location is a formerly vacant piece of land on Ventura Boulevard near Las Posas Road in the Camarillo Promenade section of the shopping center.

The completed restaurant will be 10,000 square feet, including the front porch. It will seat 180 guests at a time.

Cracker Barrel plans to hire more than 175 full- and- part-time employees for the Camarillo restaurant, the spokesperson said. It will be the chain's sixth location in California, following recent openings in Victorville, Sacramento and Santa Maria, and planned openings in Rialto in May and Rocklin in November.
