My Students

I have a classroom of innovative, thoughtful, and curious students. My students are, simply put, amazing. They are collaborative and risk takers. We emphasize growth mindset and work on teaching the whole child. My students understand that sometime being kind is as important as reading.

We believe that everyone in our classroom has something to teach us and sometimes the best learning is done in groups through discussion.

The fifth graders in my classroom are the next generation of leaders.

My Project

My classroom wish is to provide my students with an engaging space to learn. It is my belief that my students first 'buy in' to my class and the work we will do is through my classroom. If they are drawn in the class they are more likely to interact with their environment.

To improve my classroom I would add collaborative tables, instead of desks.

This would allow my students to work together and promote a culture of togetherness. Providing a variety of seating and desk choices will allow students to work where they feel the most comfortable. I hope to foster a strong classroom community, and I believe the tables will assist us in that goal.
