425 Madison #19

Just Roommates

Rate this book
Sara
I’m known around 425 Madison, and to my friends, as Crazy Sara. While they never use the nickname to my face, I know my reputation precedes me. That’s just fine with me, after all I’ve got everything I ever wanted. I have an apartment in the swankiest building in NYC, a different date every night, and the future is mine for the taking.

Okay so maybe only one thing is missing - the perfect roommate to keep me company.

Unfortunately, the roommate who wants me is not what I had in mind. And my best friend gave me one rule: Don’t sleep with her brother.

Zack
With an art degree in hand it only makes sense for me to move to NYC. Both of my sisters live here and my new niece. New York has an endless supply of muses for my art and models to entertain.

Things were just fine in my new life, until my sister gets tired of me crashing in her guest room and decides I’ll be the perfect roommate for her friend Crazy Sara. I’m on board with a change of scenery as long as the scenery is my sister’s gorgeous friend. But turns our Crazy Sara isn’t really as crazy as they all claim and she’s not really interested in me - or at least that’s what she claims.

That’s fine, two can play this game…

After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love!

Zack & Crazy Sara
📌roommates to lovers
📌siblings best friend
📌situationship with benefits
📌secret relationship

Zack (brother of Eliza and Piper) moves in temporarily with Crazy Sara (yes, she is ok with the nickname). Neither are into serious relationships so it’s a shock to them both when they begin having feelings for each other. They keep it a secret as best they can, but eventually it gets out. Turns out a relationship really isn’t all that scary.

Entertaining novella that can be enjoyed in a couple hours. I can see the short stories from 425 Madison Avenue become addicting! All can be stand alones.

On the negative side though- both were kinda whores 🤷🏻‍♀️ Sara was known for using a dating app to make hookup dates and sleep around a lot. There was even one scene where it was a married man (she didn’t know). To ick it up even more, Sara’s mom comments on her promiscuity in a positive light and she comes off gross.

I didn’t really feel love or a connection aside from physical between the two. I actually thought Zack and Andi (another artist and resident) had more of a connection.

Wanna hear a funny story? Halfway through reading this one, I remembered another book I read a year ago that was horrible (for me). It just popped into my mind while reading this one. After some attempts to continue this book I decided to check JR on Goodreads and also see if I had read any other book from this author. And guess what. It was the book I read and hated and suddenly everything made sense. The main characters (especially the heroines) had too many things in common. While all four of them are supposed to be sleeping around, it was the woman's past that was brought up again and again. Honestly, Zack's past encounters were barely mentioned and I could almost believe that his reputation (because his sister is the only one saying that he sleeps around) was fake.

I and many other readers are tired of the manwhore hero/virgin heroine trope so having the woman in that role sounded interesting. Having Sara talk more about her flings than anything else for a very large part of the book (like 70%) was tiring and annoying. My ARC was 135 pages long and there is barely enough space for romance under normal circumstances. In this case, there was no romance and everything felt very mechanic and forced. Zack and Andi had more communication and couple inspiring moments than Zack and Sara.

Should I also mention that Sara was a horrible person when she saw Andi as a potential partner for Zack? That is the part I hated the most in the book.

The final nail in the coffin was the lack of romance. Honestly, these two could have just hooked up, moved on with their lives and I wouldn't have a single problem with it. Ok, they had their book reading, but that was it. The girl book club worked just the same. There was nothing that made me felt like I was reading a romance book.

In the end, I came to the conclusion that Allie York's writing and I don't match, so I won't read a book of hers ever again.

The charm of Allie York is that she takes emotions in a direction they'd never thought to go. With humor and heart, she imparts a dash of wisdom as irresistible as the characters she creates. Just Roommates is cleverly kooky and heartachingly honest. Sara and Zack are more than they present themselves to be. The pain is well hidden behind a wall of deep emotion and neverending contradictions.

Crazy Sara embraces her reputation, it doesn’t bother her, because she’s living her best life until her best friend’s brother moves in. New to NYC, Zack needs a place to crash and quickly realizes that his new roomie isn’t as crazy as everyone thinks. Can these two play for keeps or are they just roommates? This was a pretty quick read and I definitely feel the two main characters had chemistry and were good together. I enjoyed the familiar world of the 425 Madison Avenue building and its cast of characters, as well as Zack’s sisters. It was good that Sara was able to be friends even with the guy she’d been a little bit crazy about in other stories. Overall though there were some times that I feel like it jumped to a new situation or a change in situation without a clear connection. Like when he moved in as a roommate, it still had never been said that he could, in fact it seemed Sara was still adamant he would not be her roommate right up until the time that the next chapter he was there. But as I said above, it was nice to be back in the world and find out how some of the characters from other stories were doing and I did love the dirty book club that Zack got to experience a bit unwillingly and unwittingly to be sure!

A sweet, sexy, and Romantic story between Zack and Sara they will sweep you off your feet.
A best friends brother/roommates to lovers trope and another wonderful book in the 425 Madison series.
Zack needs a place to stay to get out of living with his sister and her family and ends up convincing his sisters best friend Sara that he would be her ideal roommate.
But Zacks sister warns Sara to NOT sleep with her Brother, they are both young, free and single and how can Sara resist the chemistry between them when Zack is a sexy artist who is her perfect match.
Somehow Zack works his way into Sara's affections which is something Sara is not used to,she is a love them and leave them kinda girl, casual dates and casual sex.But Zack totally surprises her and Vice Versa Zack knew Sara had a reputation for being a bit crazy and dramatic and going on numerous dates. But she took him by surprise by being Smart and funny and sexy and they had lots in common. The attraction between them was so strong it was becoming hard to ignore, but if they crossed the line and became more than roommates it would be impossible to take back.
I loved these two together, Zack was adorable and he was always honest about his feelings for Sara he didn't hold back .Sara was the opposite she felt so guilty about betraying her best friend Zack's sister, breaking her promise and her friends trust. So she did hold back.
This is a delightful and lovely story and it was hard to put down ,I just had to know how things would work out between them.
Allie York has written a great edition to the 425 Madison books it flowed beautifully and I really enjoyed it..
It is always a joy reading a story that makes you feel good at the end.

This book is part of the 425 Madison series and as always I absolutely love to read them. This book is a real romance story that flows beautifully and reading these books really does make you feel the love.

Sara is a beautiful woman who is in need of a room mate. Every one seems to think that she is some crazy lady but her new room mate is seeing a side of her that not many people see as she sure knows how to protect her heart. Her best Kendall is getting her to see her way of thinking as her brother is totally under her feet.

Zack is living with his sister in her apartment at the minute and it's not really plane sailing.
Zack is a cute guy that is trying everything to convince Sara he will be the guy for the job and they can make it work. He is a struggling artist that is trying everything to realise his dreams. He's a really good guy and all he wants is for Sara to give him a shot. When he gets her to see his way of thinking Sara just wants to carry on as normal and not let him affect her routine but the problem is they have insane chemistry between them and he starts to feel things when he sees her meeting up on other dates.

I really enjoyed reading this book and I loved the characters especially when they see each other for who they really are, they had a couple of curve balls to dodge and the question is, can they? This story flows. I liked how this author writes and this story is a real best friends brother romance but down on 425 Madison, and everyone knows that down there anything can happen. I can't wait to read the next book in this series because they really are sweet romance reads.

Ah!! This series... these people! You seriously fall in love each and every time you read one of these books! Some are more than others and each time I read one I think it’s my absolute favorite but then I read the next and then the next! I have never read a series like this that keeps going. I know each time we get a round of their books it could be the last time they do 425 Madison but I love each and every one!!

I knew Crazy Sara was more than just crazy and that she just needed some guy to knock her off her feet! I loved the first time we met Sara and goodness did I love seeing her crazy when she lived with Piper but this was something more! You see more of the deep Sara, the unsure Sara and the Sara that seems to put up a wall over her heart.

Never did I think Zack would be the sexy artist who could ruffle Sara. I never thought I would even fall for a book boyfriend who was an artist but imagining the crazy amount of talent he has was different. Some pieces you could feel and it made the experience more intense.

Reading this book could have been a typical best friends brother/ roommate love interest but it seemed more with the others from 425 Madison. I loved the not so typical things they did together that usually only happens in books but you wished happen in real life! This is a complete swoon worthy, heart shaped eyes all throughout this book! I loved both characters so much!! Congrats on this awesome book!

I literally said to myself, Sara gets a book! I was so excited to read that Sara has her own book. She was such a great friend to Piper and I felt sad for her when Piper moved out, I did t read what the book was about but I knew it would be great. Of course it was! I was reeled in from the beginning and it was like I just read Piper and Eliza story last week. There’s no forgetting them or Sara. This was such a cute story, I laughed quite a bit, I just love Sara. I really enjoyed this book and I hope you can enjoy it just as much.

Sara has earned her reputation as being eccentric but that is only part of who she is. When she finds herself in need of a new roommate her best friend’s brother was not her first choice but doing so not only helps out her best friend but herself as well.

Zack is an artist who is finding his current living arrangements with his sister and her family crowded. Rooming with Sara seems like the solution to everyone’s problem and ignoring the chemistry between them and keeping their relationship platonic should be no problem, right?

Torn between love and loyalty Sara is conflicted about getting romantically involved with Zack however she is about to find out that destiny may have had a bigger plan when it brought them together.

Read more book review at From the TBR Pile!

I have been waiting to read Crazy Sara's book for a long time. She has always intrigued me as she has popped up from time to time throughout this series. I was looking forward to her HEA and, boy, did I love it. I read this in one siting. This is Zack and Sara's story. Zack is Piper and Eliza's younger brother. He ends up being Sara's roommate in an effort to get out of his sister's apartment. The two seem like opposites on the outside, but as they get to know each other, they find out they have more in common than they thought. I loved their book club for two. Zack is definitely on my book boyfriend list. I also loved getting to know Sara more.

As you know, I have been a fan of this series from the beginning. I highly recommend it and I highly recommend this one.

Wow! Crazy Sara’s story is just that CRAZY!

When Zack finds a way to become Sara’s roommate she doesn’t plan to change her lifestyle at all, a clean freak who likes to date a lot, but never plans to settle down and doesn’t really want a roommate!

Zack is an artist and needs to move out of his sister’s apartment, so he finds a way into Sara’s apartment. He realises quite quickly that he likes Sara and gets jealous when she goes out nightly on dates!

It takes a while but they both soon realise they have feelings for each other, but promises have been made and secrets must be kept! Will they be able to find their HEA or will someone’s opinion tear them apart?

Another amazing book in the 425 Madison series!

Another great story from Allie York about the people of 425 Madison Avenue. Was so glad someone did a story with Crazy Sara, who really isn’t crazy. Zack is Eliza and Piper’s little brother who is staying with Piper, Derek and baby Avery. Piper asks Sara to let her brother stay with her as a roommate and he can pay rent. Sara says No several times but gives in and let’s him move in but with rules. Sara is a neat person who doesn’t like mess and dust. Zack follows the rules and is a good roommate. But chemistry between the two of them gets so intense that they give in. Sara doesn’t want Piper and Eliza to find out that they are more than just roommates. Zack can’t keep it any longer and tells Murphy but his sister overheard and it gets complicated. Sara tells Zack to leave when he tries to talk to her but not to leave the apartment but she doesn’t want to talk to him or anyone right now. Sara avoids Zack for a whole day but then they talk and iron things out. Zack is an Artist who finally has his own showing and proposes to Sara in front of everyone. I loved this story and all the 425 Madison books. Great series.

Although this book is part of a series it, like all the others, can be read as a stand alone. This story is about "Crazy" Sara and her BFF Piper's little brother, Zack. Zack is an artist and has recently moved to town and has been living with his oldest sister, Piper, her husband and their infant daughter. Zack soon wears out his welcome and is told to find a new place to live. He really wants to keep staying at 425 Madison so he tricks his sister's BFF, Sara into letting him move in with her. Zack soon discovers that Sara is not as 'crazy' as everyone seems to think and that there are many different sides to Sara.
Sara thinks that Zack is a struggling artist and a man whore, but after being roommates for awhile she realizes that her perceptions are not exactly correct. As Sara and Zack become deeper involved the more Sara wants to keep it a secret especially from Piper.
We all know that secrets have a way of coming out, but you will have to read the book to see what happens when this one is exposed. Will Sara and Zack have a future together or will it all blow up?
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I loved Sara and Zack's story so much. It was fun, cute, a bit poignant, emotional, sweet and heartfelt. I loved the chemistry that simmered between this pair and the intangible connection that refused to be ignored. I found Zack quite swoon worthy, even if he wasn't my typical book boyfriend type. He could be really sweet, he a good heart and a fierce determination to get a shot with Sara. As for Sara, it was simply wonderful to see her get a HEA. If you have enjoyed other books in this series, she'll be familiar to you and this scene stealer truly deserved her own story. I loved getting a peak behind the curtain into the real Sara but I have to admit that I felt that the author really didn't go deep enough and that there was much more to discover about what made Sara tick. That small pet peeve though was no stumbling block to falling head over heels for this couple, their romance and this book. This is my volitional, candid review.

Zack and Sara story is amazing. Zack desperately needs a place to stay. He is crashing with his sister, her baby and his sisters baby daddy! This does really go with his artist vibe, so he seeks out his sisters best friend Sara who lives in the building and is looking for a new roommate. However, Sara doesn’t want a male roommate. She likes order and is a serial dater. She wants the freedom to come and go with no judgement passed. But when Zack breaks her down for a trial stay over, and their roommate relationship begins. As the two bond more and more they realize that they are perfect for one another. Will their feelings continue to grow or will they resist the pull and remain just roommates.

Allie’s writing is swoony, fun and heartwarming. This was an amazing story that I really enjoyed! A awesome must read!

If you've read any of this series, most likely you've met crazy Sara, and I have to be honest, I've been waiting on her story because I knew it would be fun. Zack has come to NYC, and he's staying with family, so when there's a shot at moving into Sara's place, he's all for it. Now, Sara is best friends with his sister, and said sister told Sara to NOT sleep with her brother. I don't know about you, once someone tells me to not do something before I ever thought about it, well, there's a good chance that I'm going to do it. Zack is crazy sexy, and he sees there's more to Sara than meets the eye, plus they have some serious chemistry. And with their sparks, it's only a matter of time before either of them is thinking about family. Allie York really did do Sara justice with Just Roommates, and I simply couldn't put it down but I do wish it had been longer. Hit those one click buttons to experience it for yourselves! HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!

If you are a romance novel reader you know that having a roommate of the opposite sex rarely ends up with being just friends. In Just Roommates I could see where the story was going and was excited to read how Sara and Zack get to be more than roommates.

Sara and Zack were flirty, fun, and sexy. They both had previous relationships but those did not get in the way with the feelings that they were having for each other. I loved how their relationship just happen. Sure, they were roommates and saw each other daily but they were friends first. The friendships just naturally progress into more.

Just Roommates by Allie York is a fun, quick and sweet read. There are steamy moments, sexy fun but along with those times are many friendships. I highly recommending heading to 425 Madison and meeting the tenants.

First, I love the 425 Madison series! Second, Crazy Sara is totally one of my favorite characters! I love when a character is so "out there" that the vanilla friends in their life call them crazy. But that's neither here or there.

Zack is new to NYC and new to rooming with Sara. He was living with his sister until she's decided he needs to be a roomie with Sara. And so off we go. Sara is all about the good things in life, except she isn't allowed to sleep with her friend's hot brother. Of course.

Zack is the first to get through to Sara it seems and gets to the heart of why Sara gives off the good time girl persona.

A great story I will be re-reading when I need a funny, hot story!

"Crazy Sara" needs a roommate and her bestie's artist brother needs a place to stay. They learn to live with each other and fall in love with each other. The drama here is her past coming back to harass her and deciding how to tell his sisters they're in love with each other.

This was light and easy to read.

This was another solid offering from this series. If you have read any of these books, you have already met Sara. She is affectionately known as "Crazy Sara" in the building and she makes no apologies for her actions. Zack has been living with his sister in the building and needs to find a new place to live. They decide to become roommates while remaining friends. Everyone knows how that ends up. Their journey to happiness is an emotional one but really worth reading.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done

Crazy Sara gets her own book!!!

If you're a 425 Madison lover...I know you've been waiting for this one! Crazy Sara is a much beloved character, and Allie York, you had a big job giving Sara all the feels. I've gone from annoyed by Sara, to intrigued by Sara, to now in LOVE with Sara's big personality and even BIGGER heart.

OH! and not to overshadow Zack...he's one swoon-worthy leading man...the perfect match for Miss Sara!

This one will go down as one of my favorite installments in this series.

so this is a part of the thirds series of the 425 Madison Avenue romance collection. Here we see ‘crazy’ Sara get a taste of her own medicine when some talks her into letting them move in. There’s a twist as always in the romance world we get to see the real Sara, the one no body gets to see but she lets this side show when the handsome brother of her best friend moves in and breaks down her walls. This story reads well and felt a little rushed in places but over all it’s a brilliant addition to the cast of characters that in in the 425 Madison building

Slow conquest
It's a good, loving romance with a character I've been looking forward to in this series: "Crazy Sara".
Ultimately her obsession is not to succumb to her new roommate, whom she didn't want, but whom she accepted (without actually saying yes). Where the story is funny is how the male hero, Zack, subtly manages to manipulate Sara.

425 has yet to disappoint me. From one book to the next in the series I've enjoyed some action, suspense, growth, love and family. Zack and Sara were definitely two of our "craziest" individuals based on the personalities given by their friends and family. However, they were most definitely top of the list of entertaining.

So sit back, relax and get into Zack and "Crazy" Sara lol.

I received an advance copy of the book for my HONEST review.

“I’m starting to get addicted to the 425 Madison series! Just Roommate was pure bliss. Allie’s story left me breathless. Zack and Sara were such amazing characters. She wasn’t the typical female character and I really liked her personality and her easy going style in a unique way. Zack was new to NYC and also Sara’s new roomie and as expected things got intense between them. A forbidden attraction and a promise that will change things forver. Zack was such a sweetie! It was lovely read.”
