A big part of the work on the rebuild of Highwood Trail in High River's far southwest end is done.

It took a little over a month for crews to rip up the road, and install new water and sewer lines and get the road back into driving shape.

The Town says all they need to do now is pressure test the lines.

In the meantime, they've started preparing for the curbing and other concrete work that needs to be done and then they'll pave the road.

They say the sidewalk on the east side of Highwood Trail is already complete, except for where it crosses the alleyways.

If the weather holds, all the work should be wrapped up sometime in September.
