Monday, NBC 15 cameras took you to the front lines of the immigration battle along our interstates.

Tuesday, we showed you the wall of fake IDs confiscated along our corridors.

In another NBC 15 exclusive, reporter Nicole Fierro investigates the loads of illegal narcotics being seized on the interstate before they get into our neighborhoods.

Picture after picture provided by the Mobile County Sheriff's Office captures the cases -- drugs headed for some neighborhood caught along our interstates.

“You never know what you are going to find on the road,” MCSO Special Ops Unit Sergeant Jeff Eiland said.

Sgt. Eiland remembers shoving a drill-bit through a steel truck bed and getting it caught on pounds of marijuana.

Other pictures capture bags of marijuana hidden inside car speakers, and nine kilos of cocaine, with a street value of nearly $200,000.

After years of these stops, Eiland says he's spotted several trends.

“The majority of the narcotics comes out of Mexico into Texas and makes its way through here either towards Florida or toward Atlanta,” Sgt. Eiland said, adding “We get a lot of illegals that are caught with narcotics.”

In each one of these pictures, Eiland says the driver arrested was not a United States citizen.

“If you look at a lot of the violence that stems through that, there’s no proper paperwork no documentation,” MSCO Special Ops Unit Lieutenant Wayne Goolsby said.

The drivers, drugs packaging may differ, but a team of law enforcement agents is putting up a fight on the interstate to stop the illegal activity before it gets on our streets.

“I think it’s very important for us to catch them when we can,” Sgt. Eiland said.
