Episode 165- Award Winning Author John Rosengren

John and I discuss his experience of strength and hope. In 1981 John got sober at the age of 17 and has been clean and sober since. John speaks briefly about working in treatment centers and of the skills and knowledge he has acquired which benefits his life in many ways such as parenting.

Writing was a dream of John’s that sobriety allowed him to live. As a freelancer since 1981, he has written for more than 100 publications, including the Atlantic, New Yorker, Reader's Digest, Sports Illustrated, and Washington Post magazine. Along the way, John won a bunch of awards and been nominated for a Pulitzer (but he didn't win that). You can see more about John and samples of his work at www.johnrosengren.net

"A Clean Heart" his ninth book published by Mango Press debuts on May 19.
