    LSC Transformation
Learning and Skills Council (LSC) was one of the key Xansa UK (Now Sopra Steria) clients in the public sector with Xansa being responsible for providing end to end Strategic Programme Delivery, Applications Development and Support Services to the LSC. The project management methodology followed Prince2 and the development was based on Object Oriented methods and technologies with Microsoft .Net and SQL server based technologies. Rational Unified Process was used as the overarching development process.

I started my assignment at LSC as Portfolio and Programme Manager responsible for delivering the Funding Portfolio of projects as part of the 0405 policy change programme and managing all the LSC deliveries out of Xansa’s Northampton Solution Centre with actively contributing to various process improvement initiatives.

Taking into account some key lessons learnt at the end of project delivery, I proposed significant changes to the account organisation and operation to achieve a step change in the overall delivery effectiveness, efficiency, quality and scalability. I then led the first phase of the Organisation Change addressing the five change steams People, Organisation, Process, Information and Technology (POPIT) and took responsibility as development manager of the overall design and development delivery capability.

Once the benefits of the initial phase of change were delivered, the next step was to transform the service into an end to end Engineering capability. I then led the next phase of change as Head of Engineering and Operations responsible for all engineering activities and teams within the account and also managing all operational aspects of running a large account such as Contractual adherence, forecast and variance, quality audits and benchmarking etc.

During this period we also established an engineering capability in India that provided scale and flexibility in line with business drivers and demands from LSC.
