*****

On January 17, 2019, Sgt. Cameron Meddock, a US Army Ranger, died in Landsfuhl, Germany, of injuries sustained from small-arms fire in Afghanistan. He left behind a wife and unborn child.

When we, in the romance community, learned of this terrible tragedy, our hearts cried out for action. Prayers and thoughts come from a good place and have value, but we wondered what we could do to offer comfort during a time of such loss?

Sixteen of us rallied together, each donating a book, and the Thank You For Your Service collections were born.

Our beautiful covers were donated by Marianne Nowicki and Alexandria Bishop graciously offered to format the two collections.

ALL GROSS ROYALTIES FROM THE PURCHASES OF THESE COLLECTIONS will be forwarded to the family of Sgt. Meddock.

Thank you so much for making an e-book purchase today.

And thank you, Sgt. Cameron Meddock, for your service.

It all started in first grade when Cat Johnson won the essay contest at Hawthorne Elementary School and got to ride in the Chief of Police's car in the Memorial Day Parade...and the rest, as they say, is history. As an adult, Cat generally tries to stay out of police cars and is thrilled to be writing for a living. She has been published under a different name in the Young Adult genre, but released her first romance in 2006.

Today, she is a NY Times & USA Today best-selling, award-winning author of contemporary romance. A promo ho, she's sponsored real live bull riding cowboys and promoted romance using bologna.

For the Anthology I reviewed “Fighting For Everything” by Laura Kaye and "Hot Seal: Dirty Martini" by Cat Johnson

My heart was beating quickly when I began reading “Fighting for Everything.” Laura Kaye is one of my favorite authors and I knew I was in for a treat. The pain and misery that Noah has and is still experiencing is heartbreaking, and I could feel his despair reaching through the pages, tugging at my heart.

Noah is still torn up about the deaths of his buddies in the war and he knows he should be thankful that he came home, even though his injuries have changed his life forever. The nightmares consume his mind and sleep is impossible. He is angry, jealous, confused and depressed. He refuses to be a burden to his family or his best friend, Kristina. He had been avoiding her since he returned home seven months ago because he didn’t want her to see how much he has changed. He is not the man she knew when he left for college and the Marines, and he doesn’t want to disappoint her or have her pity him. When their paths finally crossed, Kristina could feel the coldness coming from Noah and it really disturbed her, but she wouldn’t give up on him. She knows he needs her and she will do everything in her power to help him break free from the darkness.

This book captivated me from the first page and I felt connected to the characters in a way I have never felt before. Noah and Kristina have been friends for a long time and friends will always be there for you, no matter what. Thank you, Laura, for writing such a beautiful and uplifting book, and I am looking forward to the next book in the series, “Fighting For What’s His.”

"Hot Seal: Dirty Martini"

Cat Johnson always writes a story where we can pretend we are in the book with the characters so we can leave our everyday life behind. I am a big fan of Navy Seal books and I fell in love with Clay right away and I knew that Tasha would be the woman that he needed. He goes after what he wants, works hard and served his country proudly. What more could a girl want?

A sexy Navy Seal is pitted against a feisty TV personality who is looking to restore her career after an on-air meltdown. Clay found the perfect beach house where he could spend his retirement and all it needed was a little work, and he was ready for the job. Unfortunately, a TV production company also wanted his hideaway and they kept jacking up the price which was making him furious. Along with this headache, he meets (again) the woman who would become a thorn in his side and a desire he couldn’t resist. Tasha needed this job and she refused to let a macho Navy Seal get in her way. Their constant arguing is mixed with sexy glances and sleepless nights. What happens when they can no longer resist temptation and they give in to their desires? With the cameras on 24 hours a day, Clay will need to use his Navy Seal skills to find a way to privately spend time with Tasha so no one finds out!!

Laura Kaye's Fighting for Everything will really tug at your heart. Noah is in a dark dark place suffering from the results of an IED. He is deaf and blind on his left side and gets panic attacks. He has a lot of anger. Kristina is his best friend since they were young. I liked that the couple had chemistry right of the bat but it was not easy going from friends to lovers and possibly losing "your best friend". Kristina wanted to help him and could really tell when he was going to have an attack because her father was bi-polar. I enjoyed their had reverse dinners and their joke on Five Guys and Ben & Jerry's. I love that he went to the art therapy classes and met Mo whose friendship was very important to helping him find peace. The Fight Club members are strong and brave and honest. They all have gone through the same things and are there for each other. The fight club was a way for them to release some of their pain. I cried when he gives her gifts at his brothers wedding.

I also loved that there are quite a few authors who I have not read before and I really enjoyed all the stories in this Anthology.

This review is for PULL YOU THROUGH By Kaylee Rayn Author.
will add other reviews as I read them.
This is such a Powerful story. Slade was dealt a crappy childhood till, His Gran takes him in, then he felt what being wanted felt like. Now a new recruit for the Marines he is learning what brotherhood is. He never expected to meet the beautiful Austyn. She happens to be a childhood friend of his best friend Brandon. They have a relationship that started out friendly but after a few short days it's so much more, but he is a Marine, the life isn't easy Can they still build a solid relationship to withstand the good, the bad and the horrible. The emotions This Story brings you is a perfect combination, I didn't want this book to end.

Hands down this was money well spent. I love military romance and this is packed full of great entertaining stories. If you are not sure if you would enjoy Military romance then this book is for you. There are so many wonderful stories within the cover. You get to sample amazing authors and it goes to a good cause. WIN WIN.

I will admit that I have favorites that made this so much more bang for the buck. Laura Kaye's Fighting for Everything details the challenges of a returning Vet. Heidi McLaughlin's Save Me deals with an MIA coming back out of the blue and the issues that result.

Fantastic collection of authors and stories!

What a fantastic collection of stories by some amazing authors! Pull You Through by Kaylee Ryan is a well written story. It is a very emotional story about a woman named Austin and a man named Slade. Slade has a difficult life from the beginning, so of course when he falls in love will be no different. He has nothing holding him back, so why not join the Marines? Then right after boot camp he meets a woman who changes all of that.

A 10 star box set

I cannot say enough good things about this box set. It truly reveals some of the sacrifices made by former, current and even future members of our military! Many parts are heart rendering and cry out for prayers of protection and healing and love for our warriors and their families!

It is not secret that I love RC Boldt's book but Hendy is my favorite character. It truly was emotional to see him rise from the ashes.

Hendy is a survivor but keeps all his secrets and nightmares locked inside. When he meets Dr. Presley Cole he has feelings for her but she is unavailable. When she is available they decide to take a leap and start a relationship. However can Hendy truly give Presley all of him. The sexual chemistry between Hendy and Presley was off the charts. In usual Ms. Boldt fashion she included characters from there other books, which I love. I loved the little side story of Kane.

Great characters that you will become friends with, sexy scenes, and the true sense of friendship.
Hopefully Kane will get his own book.
