DO YOU OWN REAL PROPERTY?
BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR YOUR TRIM NOTICE!

2019 property tax assessment notices (TRIM notices) were mailed to taxpayers this week. Moreover, many county property appraisers have already posted values on their websites. Every owner, tenant, manager, lender or developer of real estate in Florida is provided an opportunity to determine if the values assigned to their real estate interests are real. You may be able to substantially reduce the tax liability for your property through a tax assessment appeal.

There is a short window to file a petition. The deadline is 25 days after notices (the specific filing deadline will vary by County) and typically falls in mid-September. Click here for a list of Florida counties who have currently published their deadlines. If you do not receive your TRIM notice, you can reach out to your county's Tax Collector's office.

Stearns Weaver Miller can assist with reviewing your TRIM notices and in property tax challenges before Value Adjustment Boards and in circuit court. For more information, contact our team.
