About this ebook

**Now optioned for TV

Sara Grey’s world shattered ten years ago when her father was brutally murdered. Now at seventeen, she is still haunted by memories of that day and driven by the need to understand why it happened. She lives a life full of secrets and her family and friends have no idea of the supernatural world she is immersed in or of Sara’s own very powerful gift.

In her quest for answers about her father’s death, Sara takes risks that expose her and her friends to danger and puts herself into the sights of a sadistic vampire. On the same fateful night she meets Nikolas, a warrior who turns Sara’s world upside down and is determined to protect her even if it’s the last thing she wants.

Sara’s life starts to spin out of control as she is hunted by an obsessed vampire, learns that her friends have secrets of their own and reels from the truth about her own ancestry. Sara has always been fiercely independent but in order to survive now she must open herself to others, to reveal her deepest secrets. And she must learn to trust the one person capable of breaking down the walls around her.

I love the way the main character Sara and her friends were portrayed in a realistic way. The writer put thought into their unspoken words, their actions and the dialogue that you don't need to be 17 years old like Sara to really enjoy this book. The main girl really grew on me. She was intelligent, compassionate, so caring towards her friends I couldn't put this book down I just kept reading on to see who she becomes. Can't wait to read the second installment.

If I judged a book by one chapter alone, I never would have finished it. The first chapter was a little weak, but I read on and by chapter three, I was hooked. Sara's a danger magnet who can heal animals and supernatural being. So, of course when she goes out to a club with friends a vampire tries to take her for a late night stand. And that's how she meets Nikolas, the vampire hunter who now feels it's his duty to protect her and by protect her, he means control every aspect of her life. From there, the book spirals into a series of events that start because he's too pig-headed and controlling and because she's too pig-headed and independent. Sure, she would have been safer if she'd gone with him, but it would've involved giving up her freedom. Sara keeps getting the brunt of the "none of this would have happened if not for you" guilt, but really most of this should lie with Nicolas and his crappy communication skills. He may be a super-strong vampire killing demon, but really, he lives with his head up his butt. If he would have treated Sara like a person and not a puppy she may have been more agreeable. Anyway, I love the bickering, the friendship Sara has with Roland and Peter, and all the times Sara finds a way to escape Nicolas's protective stares. It's very much a thrill a minute kind of book.
