Just the fact of having to live and furnish a house less than 50 square meters is problematic, then having to sacrifice the bed in favor of a sofa bed can be very depressing for many.

Who said that in a studio apartment or in a two room home the bed must necessarily disappear?

Many architects and designers have grappled with the micro-houses and have come out winning: look at these three examples to believe.

A MULTIFUNCTIONAL BED

Let’s start with this little apartment of 40 square meters in Moscow, by the multidisciplinary study INT2architecture: a house for a young couple has become the ground of study and experimentation.

The hardest part was the rational division of spaces to find room for all functions. The bed is placed on a container platform and shares the space with a small study area.

We continue with another small apartment in Krakow, by Avocado Concept study.

In this case, to the master bedroom is dedicated an entire room, making possible more privacy.

The bed is on a free-standing base that serves as a library and drawers, multiplying the space to organize clothes and various objects.

Even the head of the bed is very original: a kind of library on which to hang shelves, books and CDs.

We end up with the studio apartment refurbished by architect Karin Matz, HB6B in Stockholm. A restructuring that leaves out the signs of the time that has passed, without hiding anything.

Old and new coexist in this small space of only 36 square meters: all customer needs were met.

Two parts that coexist: an organized and renewed part and a part left unfinished. In the first part is placed the sleeping area, characterized by a unique structure that combines kitchen, wardrobe and bed.

The restructuring has winked to the economic aspect, also using the Ikea furniture. The only connection part between the past and the present in the house is represented by the bath, which acts as a virtual temporal bridge.
