Taking a dig at Union ministers Nirmala Sitharaman and Piyush Goyal for their statements on auto sector slump and the economic slowdown, Shiv Sena has said that questions regarding the state of the economy cannot be ignored.

The BJP ally, in its editorial mouthpiece Saamana, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah were doing a "great job", however, their ministers were making their task tougher by "mocking the deteriorating state of economy and employment".

"Questions are being raised on the economic situation and employment, and we cannot ignore them. Central ministers are making Modi and Shah's job tougher by mocking the deteriorating economic situation and employment," it said.

Taking a jibe at Industry and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal for his 'Einstien discovered gravity' comment, the Shiv Sena said: "Our ministers are out to change the basics of science. But can the research of the ministers provide employment to lakhs of people who have lost their jobs?"

The party also ridiculed Finance Minister Sitharaman for blaming "the mindsets of millennials, who now prefer to take Ola and Uber” for the slump in automobile sales.

Shiv Sena said that Sitharaman's "research" on auto sales fall was "bigger than that of Einstien and Newton's".

"After the inauguration of Mumbai-Maharashtra metro rail, the Chief Minister said around 60 lakh people will commute through it daily. Does it mean it will affect auto sales and cause unemployment?,” it said

"Parley G sales have slumped and 10 thousand people have lost their jobs. Shall we draw the conclusion that children are not eating biscuits and they are busy playing PUBG instead?” it added.

It also criticised the Narendra Modi government over the economic crisis and job loss and said

"Traders, farmers and employees are losing their source of income and it is not related to Newton or Einstien. The same has been said by Manmohan Singh. The automobile industry has seen slowdown but the country's learned FM Nirmala Sitharaman is not ready to admit it,” the Shiv Sena said in ist editorial.

Earlier, Shiv Sena had asked its alliance partner BJP to listen to former prime minister and Congress leader Manmohan Singh’s advice on economy condition of the country.

“National interest lies in listening to Manmohan Singh's advice. There should be no politics around the economic slowdown. Kashmir and economic slowdown are two different issues. The economy is in doldrums,” the party said.

Singh had earlier expressed deep concern over the state of ecomony and asked Narendra Modi government to put aside vendetta politics and steer the economy out of man-made crisis.
