Seven and Lucky were thrown together when their best friends started dating but their relationship has been anything but love at first sight, it started out antagonistic and then they started to enjoy winding each other up as much as possible. Until one drunken night all that had ever been between them was constant verbal sparring and banter but then a scorching hot kiss changed everything. They're suddenly both looking at each other in a new light but before they can explore that any further Lucky is called away on a family emergency and disappears without a word. When he returns weeks later Lucky is eager to jump back in where they left off but Seven has already been hurt once and she's not so willing to give him a second chance.

These two have one of my favourite kind of relationships, one where the sparks are obviously flying but they're both to stubborn to admit it and rather than act on their attraction they verbally spar to keep each other at a distance.  I could see the potential between them in the first book so I was thrilled when I found out they'd be the second couple featured in this series and I have to admit I found Seven much easier to get to know and care about than Indie was. Seven has been through her own tough times but she's a strong character who is determined to stand on her own two feet and who has never let herself rely on anyone else. She's independent and knows what she wants so suddenly realising her feelings for Lucky have changed throws her for a loop.

Lucky walked away from his brothers at Glory MC because his sister needed him and although he hated to be gone so long he did what he had to at the time. I have to admit I thought Glory MC forgave him a little too quickly when he came back, I'd have expected the gang to be more put out that he hadn't kept in contact, especially considering everything else that was going on at the time, but I was glad that Seven didn't hold back on chewing him out for what happened. I enjoyed getting to know Lucky's sister (although I'm a bit creeped out by the age gap between her and her MUCH older boyfriend who had previously been like a father to her!) but I had trouble figuring out the exact age difference between her and Lucky which meant I struggled to understand how Lucky had been able to walk away and leave a vulnerable child with their drug addict mother years ago to join Glory MC in the first place. It just didn't seem to fit that he cared about her so much but pretty much abandoned her before so I'd have liked that side of things explained a little better.

We got a bit more information about the futuristic world that this series is set in which was definitely needed and I'm curious to see where the Glory MC alliance with another group is going to go in the future, especially now they seem to have mutual and very dangerous enemies. I'm enjoying this series and looking forward to the next book, Nirvana, but I think I need to feel a little more like this is a gang of scary, badass bikers. At times the members of Glory seem to be a little too soft and the President made a few decisions that just didn't quite mesh up with what I'd expect from this kind of MC gang.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Origin is an interesting story of a woman who’s known unspeakable hardship and a man with his own demons. Jolene creates a bleak world where work is hard to come by, there is no government to provide order and basic survival is difficult every single day.
After meeting Seven and Lucky in book one, I was anxious to learn their stories. Seven was obviously searching for something when she begged her roommate, Indy to bring her to the bar she’s working out that serves as the club house for the Glory MC. It’s obvious she not just another biker groupie but she quickly ingratiates herself with the club and becomes part of the family. Lucky seems to be the only man there who can’t stand Seven even after a life-altering kiss after which he disappears without a word.
Even upon his return the two, now roommates, the two are at each other’s throats. Even with the memory of the sexual heat they bicker and it takes a while for these two to realize they actually like one another.
Nothing is easy in their lives. Seven is in danger from more at least one unknown stalker and Lucky is dealing with family and club issues. All of which make for not only a touching romance but a very exciting suspense story.
Without the misogynistic underpinnings of modern motorcycle clubs, the men of Glory are even more attractive in their tough, sexy ways. Life is so rough in the Wards, that Lucky and Seven are blessed to get a “as happy as possible” instead of a happily ever after which is far more realistic in even modern times.
Origin and the Glory MC series are intriguing, complex, fast-paced, and compelling.

This is the second book in the Glory MC series and although this one can be read as a stand-alone I highly recommend reading Glory first.

Seven Douglass is best friends with Indie and has become friends with the members of the Glory MC through Indie's boyfriend, Hastie, who is a member. She has a weird love/hate relationship with Lucky where they hate each other most of the time yet Lucky will not allow any harm to come to her. But one night in a drunken state they kiss and then he is gone.

Dylan "Lucky" Winters is a member of the Glory MC and is very dedicated to the club. When a call comes in that he is needed he leaves the club to deal with his past.

Two months later Lucky returns and Seven has moved on but when Lucky needs a place to stay, Seven agrees he can stay with her. But life is not easy in Ward Four and soon the Glory MC realize their enemy is gaining power and will stop at nothing to get what they want. Will Lucky be able to protect Seven from their enemies, especially when they are closer than anyone knows.

Wow - this book is just as awesome as the first one and had me hooked from beginning to end. I love that the book is set in a post-apocalyptic world that is divided into Wards which makes it different and unique to many books out there.

I loved the independence of Seven and how she biked to work every day in spite of the obstacles and dangers out there. She has a good job and has an admirer in Trey who brings her chocolate!! She is torn between her hidden attraction and feelings to Lucky and the fact that Trey cares for her. The relationship between Seven and Lucky is awesome with the bantering and the things they each do to piss off the other one.

I felt so bad about Seven's past and her sister. Yet when we discover everything through the book you understand a few things better but at the same time it is devastating how everything turned out and it completely broke my heart.

Lucky has his own ghosts in his past and knows that he must help Lennon but at the same time he doesn't want to lose his place with Glory MC. Lucky has feelings for Seven that he tries to keep hidden but at the same time he would do anything to protect her and at any cost. I love when he and Seven finally sort things out!

There were definitely some things that I was not expecting in this book and I hope we get another glimpse of G in another book so we know he is doing ok and is safe.

There is so much conflict in this book and it'll be interesting to see how everything shapes up in the next book with alliances and enemies.

The ending absolutely killed me and totally shocked me!! I need to know what happens with the next book now!!

Review:

I went on reading this book without reading the first one and boy was I surprise by it. I expected to be a cheesy hot romance with a dangerous guy and a helpless girl but I was so wrong because it is so much more.

First of all this world is set in an apocalyptic or post apocalyptic time wherein the world is plague by solar flares, which changed how the people are living and how the society runs. The world is now divided by wards. The MC club Glory governs Ward 4. We are then introduced to these two main character, Lucky and Seven. They both had a though childhood. Lucky had a troubled past with her mother being a drug addict and now her sister is suffering the same faith. While Seven and her little sister was abandoned in a grocery store. They were then taken up by a couple who raised them, took them to school, and fed them. But since money was a problem, they expected Seven to help out and when she couldn't find a job, they made her a prostitute when she became of age. The same thing to her sister. But because her sister couldn't cope up with it she committed suicide. I like how despite the terrible things that had happened to them, they are still strong and fighting for their lives. I am very glad they got to have their happy ending with each other.

Furthermore, I love the enemies to lovers trope. The sexual tension is very evident but they initially did not want to act out their attraction for each other. I also like that there is a sense of realism in this story because Lucky and Seven's background story is happening around us. There are children with parents who are using drugs, and there are girls who are being directly or indirectly forced into prostitution. Also, the notion of the apocalypse is also a reality.

Lastly, the thing with Trey is very predictable but I had some doubts about my assumptions in some scenes. Also, for me the author did not delve into Lucky's background story that much. I have some much questions about him like how did he and her sister survive growing up with a drug addict for a mother and how did he become a member of Glory club. To assert, I really like this book. The ending really shocked me and I can't wait to read it. I also just read the synopsis of the first book of this series and I will be also reading it too because I would like to see how the author tackle Bipolar  II disorder in her book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

For people new to this series, I can tell you that this story (and series) takes place in a world where solar flares not only have changed the earth but also society like we know it. Many people have died and there is no government or police anymore. The ‘new’ world is now divided in Wards and the MC club Glory rules Ward Four and it’s here where the story takes place.

‘Origin’ is the second book in the ‘Glory MC’ series. After reading and enjoying ‘Glory’ (the first book of this series), I was looking forward to reading the next one. ‘Origin’ continues telling the story of the bad boys of the Glory MC club. The main characters in this book are Lucky and Seven, two people we already met in the first book.

Bad boy Lucky is a member of the Glory MC club. He and feisty Seven can’t really stand each other but when their best friends start dating, they can’t really avoid each other very much. So each meeting is a competition where the person with the most sarcastic comments wins. Now, it has come to the point that they do it without thinking about it. And then one night, something happens that neither of them thought possible. They share a drunken kiss together. They both don’t know what to think about that but they really don’t get the chance to talk about it because Lucky leaves both Seven and Glory MC for a while. He doesn’t want to but sometimes you don’t have a choice. When Lucky finally comes back, two months have passed. He promised Knuckle, the president of Glory MC, that he would stay away for one week, so he knows that he’s in trouble with his brothers but he also has unfinished business with Seven.

Because he didn’t made contact with his brothers for two months, they feared that he was killed by their enemies the Phantoms. This means that his welcome back to the club is mixed with very different feelings and to make things worse , through certain circumstances he is now forced to live together with Seven for a while. The only good thing about it is that Seven hates the idea more than he does. And so they continues their little war between them. But the more they get to know each other, the more they begin to realize that maybe they didn’t know each other that well. Maybe their impression of each other was wrong and maybe the feelings they are feeling aren’t hate but something else?! But both, Seven and Lucky, had had a very difficult childhood, with secrets that could destroy this relationship before it even had time to blossom. And then you have their enemies who are waiting for just the right time to attack. To destroy them and Ward Four for good.
Can both survive all that? And are both willing to trust each other and their feelings?

Like I said in my review of ‘Glory’, the main focus of the story is on the couple and on the Glory MC club. It was really great seeing Hastie and Indy back, and the other guys of the Glory MC.
I would recommend that you read Glory first.

Readers who are very sensitive about certain themes, I must warn you that the writer Ana Jolene isn’t afraid to write about sensitive topics. In her first book the heroine had bipolar II disorder and in this book both Lucky and Seven had had a very difficult childhood. Lucky’s past gets revealed to us through past childhood memoires. This way you slowly discover his past, a way of writing I really appreciated when dealt with difficult situations.

One of the reasons that I was looking forward to this book was the fact that it was a story about ‘enemies’ becoming lovers and I’m always curious how the writer will let it happen. I really enjoyed the way that Ana Jolene did it. Although both, Lucky and Seven, act like they are really tough and sarcastic, both also have a soft side to them. Only their best friends see this side of them. It took a while before Lucky saw this side of Seven and vice versa. The writer really took her time to build the relationship between them but as a reader you were never bored! There were a lot of things going on this book. You never knew what was going to happen next and that’s something that I like as a reader. The story was told from both POV’s and there was no cheating.

The one thing that I, personal, had a little problem with was a fact that had to do with Lucky leaving the bad situation at home as a young adult. But that’s just a little detail.

I did enjoyed this MC story and I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Origin is book two in the series, and to me, it read just fine as a stand-alone but for the world building, I probably should have read book one first.

The general set up of this series, and therefore this story, is that it occurs in a world different from our own, a world with little regulation after solar flares. The world is now a division of different wards, and our particular story takes place in Ward four which is run by the Motorcycle Club.

Lucky and Seven were always at odds, they bickered with each other, tossing insults around between them, and had a gneral dislike of each other until one moment something changed and they kissed. But that kiss sort of shakes them both up in another way but they don't get a chance to discuss it because Lucky leaves.

When he returns months later, he isn't sure what to expect from his brothers at the MC or from Seven, but he sure doesn't expect them to have believed him dead or to be moving in with Seven. Niether Seven or Lucky are very happy with the arrangement at first, but as the two spend more time together their animosity fades and they see more in each other than before. They learn that they have more in common than they ever expected and they both have something in the past that haunts them, someone who wants to destroy them.

Though the book builds up more of the post-flare world of the series, the main focus is on Seven and Lucky and their growing relationship. There is a lot to them both, from their pasts to their present and the growing feelings between them.

Origin has a few twists and turns, making me curious to flip the page because I wasn't sure what to expect next. I enjoyed the banter and bickering between these two at the start and how it grew to be more once they were sort of stuck in tight quarters and had to actually get to know each other. The gradual changes in their feelings really brought realism to their relationship and I enjoyed watching as they found their way together.

Although this is book 2 of the Glory MC series it's the first one I've read, as well as the first Ana Jolene story. In all honesty I found it hard to get started reading this story, but once I was able to get into the story I couldn't put it down until I reached the end. Now I cannot wait to read not only more Glory MC stories, but I look forward to reading about her other series Moonrise Beach, a Contemporary Romance series.
While I am ALWAYS up for a great MC story with lots of sexy hunky bikers protecting their family, I'm not the biggest fan of New Adult Dystopian. However I completely enjoyed reading Lucky and Seven's story. They are definitely the definition of Fire and Ice. But to read how things turn out for them you'll have to read ORIGIN. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book via Tasty Book Tours for an honest blog tour review. Due to sexual and adult situations this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older.

An MC novel set in a world where solar flares have changed the planet. And their is no government rule or police control. The world is now divided into wards and the Glory MC rule Ward four.
MC member Lucky and Seven don't really get along, but since their friends started dating they've found it harder to avoid each other, and when they do they usually converse with jibes and sarcastic remarks. Until one drunken night they kiss. They don't have a chance to talk about it as Lucky has to leave his MC and Seven, he is given two weeks by his president.
Until one drunken night they kiss. They don't have a chance to talk about it as Lucky has to leave his MC and Seven...he is given one week by his president. He returns after two months expecting trouble from his MC and hoping to meet up with Seven.
He learns his brothers had thought him to have been killed by their enemy the Phantoms who are now causing more trouble. He is forced to move in with Seven for a while which they hate but has no choice, but the longer they are together the closer the become. They learn they both have had bad pasts and enemies waiting to destroy them and Ward Four.
The main focus in the story is Seven and Lucky and the change and growth of their relationship which is masterfully done, but the whole story itself is full of thrills, suspense and a healthy dose of an unstoppable attraction between them. I loved the characters and the plot line, a real page turner.
A very entertaining story, I highly recommend it!

Good story. Didn't expect a few things to happen, so was a nice surprise. Lucky and Seven both have many issues. I liked that they found each other through them. Lucky's background has much sadness in it. He did not have a childhood and had to practically raise his younger sister. It seems she was bent on going down the same road as their mother, but perhaps things are looking up for her. I like how he reevaluates things after going home for that extended time. I liked that the MC took him back in, even though he did kinda walk away, as they realized it was only for family. Seven had a hard life. We find out so much about why and that clears things up, for the most part. I didn't see much of the connections to the post-flare world this book seems to be rooted to, but I don't even care. I like the characters. I like the stories. I like the MC and how they are trying to make the place better. Personally, back to Lucky and Seven, I didn't see their relationship as a hate one that turned into love, but almost as a pesky one that turned into more.

This book is book 2 in this series. This book is set in a world in trouble -solar flares may end the world and Earth is no longer what we are use too. Life is split into Wards -and Glory MC runs a Ward.

I must confess I was a little lost in the beginning because I had not read the first book but this story was an enjoyable read. Lucky is a club Member of Glory MC and Seven( our heroine) is the main characters in this book. Lucky and Seven are in a love hate relationship - They are brought together by there friends from the first book but they are a combustible mix. Each of them have had a hard life and when Lucky leaves after a Kiss - life will never be the same. The Club may welcome him back but Seven will make him fight for her. A couple that will keep you turning the pages in the book to see what happens next in there relationship. But w hen trouble on the horizon for the club life is going to get interesting for everybody
A perfect mix of MC Romance and Dystopian book. Lisa .

Wow, this book was so good! I loved the chemistry between Lucky and Seven. Their love/hate relationship was so fun to read about and I love how their feelings for each other grew slowly. There were a lot of romantic moments between them too despite the fact that a lot of other things are going on.

I laughed and cried throughout this entire book and really fell in love with Ana Jolene’s writing style. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of dystopian books, this one is really easy to follow and unique.

The characters are also very different from one another that I can’t wait to get to read about them all. There’s no question that the Glory MC are unlike any other motorcycle club out there. Instead of just being a club for recreational or leisurely activities, they act like almost a stand-in government for Ward Four, which I think makes them even more badass. It makes every move they make that much more important and deadly.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be addicted by the end of this book! I will definitely be jumping into NIRVANA right away! I need to know what happens!

Hot. Steamy. Sweaty. Mysterious. Haunting. Intriguing. Lucky had a past that did not want to let go. Seven was not much different. Just the past was a bit slower in creeping in. The explosive meeting had caught them off guard but the reunion was and explosion of epic proportions. Lucky needed to prove loyalty and at the same time needed to keep the past in the past. These two together proved to be difficult for one person to maintain. But. But with the help of another things become a bit more bearable until Seven’s past makes an appearance. There was action, intensity, passion, and understanding. For the second installment to the Glory MC series, I was in love with the plain in your face raw intensity.
