Dear Taron,
I should have told you this a long time ago…

Dear Taron,
Is there a time-limit on forgiveness?
If there is, I haven’t reached it…

Dear Taron,

I still love you…

A letter never sent.

Heck, I never even finished it.

Taron Rhodes was my brother’s best friend.
He was sexy as sin.
But he was more than that…
He was ponytail-pulling, ice down your shirt teasing, throw you in the lake screaming…
Strong, tanned arms and blue-green eyes over a heart-stopping, naughty grin…
Did I mention his tight end?

I gave him my first real kiss, my heart, my everything.
I said I’d wait for him…

I’m still waiting, because Taron Rhodes is still the man of my dreams,
And I have a secret that has his blue-green eyes.

Noel LaGrange stole my heart when she was only eighteen—pushing me off a flatbed and calling me a city slicker.
Her brother Sawyer would kick my ass if he knew how many times we made out that summer, how close we got.

Everything changed when Sawyer and I joined the military.
We were honorably discharged, but I didn’t go to her.
Instead, I went back to the city… where no amount of money, no amount of pills can heal this wound.
Only her whiskey eyes and dark hair, her slim arms and her sweet scent, give me hope.

I broke her heart just as surely as I broke mine, but I’m going back to make it right.
If she’s still waiting…

(WAIT FOR ME is a STAND-ALONE second-chance, military romance with a guaranteed HEA. No cheating. No cliffhangers.)

Wait for me is definitely a 5-star read.
.
I was hooked from page one. The book and the characters are flawlessly written.
I really can't describe my feelings towards this book.
.
Right from the beginning, as Noel fell in Taron's arms, you can feel the chemistry between them.
I wanted them to be happy.
Noel and her brothers were going through so much in their life that they earn happiness.
Taron was definitely good for Noel. He's also best friends with her older brother and her little brother saw him as family. .
I felt the love of the siblings to each other, I felt the love between Noel and Taron ... and than it's been taking away.
.
I cried with Noel.
I cried for Taron.
.
Two broken hearts but never separated, because they created something precious: Dove.
Oh my ... this little girl. I wanted to grab her right out the book and declare her as my third child.
.
I can't wait for Sawyer and his HEA.

Wait for love

Gahhhh! Tia Louise got me again. I cried. I didn't blubber but I definitely wasnt able to remain stoic. Wait For Me is emotionally charged and filled with hope, love, and eventually a hero.

I think heroes are best described by others, most doubt their status and Taron is one of them. Heroes also come in all different kinds.

I fell hard for a summer romance with the older brother's best friend. I fell even harder for a man who owned his mistakes and came back to make amends. He was absolutely worth the wait!

Dolly says love is like a butterfly, soft and gentle as a sigh, but from what I’ve seen of love, I think it’s more like a tornado, shocking and violent and so powerful it can rip your soul out of your mouth…

What do you say about a book that means so much to you, it speaks to your very soul. How do you convey your emotions when you can’t find the words to describe how perfectly haunting the story is. This story, one about true love, is, as of right now, my favorite book of 2020. I’ve never felt so connected to a book. From the very first line I was enamored with this tale of two beautiful, young, naive teenagers who fell in love one summer. These sweet humans, who never wanted their time together to end, but, as fate would have it, were torn apart by pain and suffering…only to find each other again seven years later.

What does it mean to “wait” for someone? What does that entail? I don’t think you can ever really know unless you’ve been there. The empty, painful nights of restlessness and need. The waking hours when your mind won’t shut off and let you take a break from the constant anxiety. As humans, we aren’t a very patient breed. This novel is all about patience and understanding. The empathy you feel, as the reader, for both Taron and Noel is unimaginable. Both of them go through so much, after that one summer that changed it all. It’s funny how it can only take a moment for your life to change. It’s not really mentioned in the novel itself, but it’s clear that it’s love at first sight between Taron and Noel. Their chemistry is undeniable and they both speak about waiting their entire lives to find what they’ve found with each other. It’s the forever kind of love.

“You kiss me, and I forget everything.”

After that summer (or more accurately, those few weeks) spent together Taron is shipped off to the Marines. Noel promises to wait for him. Well…life happens and things change. Not for the better, either. It’s heartbreaking to see what these two lovers have to endure while they’re apart. They don’t see each other for seven years. Then, when he feels that it’s finally time, Taron goes back to that little orchard that he spent a life changing summer at once upon time, and his life turns completely upside down. It’s incredible. The way these two fall back together, it’s almost like they were never apart. I think it’s because their souls never left each other. They have always belonged together and neither time nor space could change that fact.

This novel was truly special. What a masterpiece. I am beyond impressed by Tia Louise’s talent. This is my first book by this author, but I know now that I will read whatever she writes. It’s that fantastic. If you feel like crying and want to give something new a go, jump into the world of this book. You won’t regret it. 10 stars!

OMG! Tia slays me with her stories!!! She makes me an emotional mess!! And yet I keep coming back for more!! This book is amazing! This is the story of Taron and Noel and it will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions!! It’s full of love. Love of family. Love that stands the tests of time. It’s full of mistakes. Mistakes made in times of despair, when everything seems hopeless. It’s full of hope, hope for forgiveness and hope for a future. You will laugh and you will cry and if you are like me you will wonder how you are going to make it through this story with your heart unscathed!! Loved, loved, loved it!!❤️❤️

Wait for Me is a stand alone romance by the amazing Tia Louise. Every one of her books continues to amaze me and this book did just that. The hero you will meet, Taron, was introduced in the previous book, Boss of Me, but it is not required that you read it.

Taron Rhodes wants to do something to make a difference in the world. So, he and his three best friends, Sawyer, Patton and Marley joined the marines. They are just out of basic and have a few weeks off before they report back. So Taron has gone home with Sawyer to his peach grove to help with the summer harvest. He’s looking forward to the peace and quiet, to the beautiful countryside.. But when he walked into that farmhouse kitchen and saw her standing there, Sawyer’s younger sister, everything stopped. And instantly, his reason for living changed.

Noel LaGrange is eighteen years old and has just finished high school. She’s getting ready to start college and has big ideas on ways to use the peaches on her and her brother’s farm. Noel loves her life and knows it will always be here, among the peaches.

peach orchard - Google Search

The day Taron walked into her kitchen, she couldn’t believe how beautiful he was. And when he spoke, his voice curled around her like a warm blanket. She knew this man would be important to her. She just didn’t know how much.

“If you ever need saving, I want to save you.”
“And I’ll save you back.”

During their short time together, Taron and Noel fall fast and hard. They try to keep their feelings secret. They don’t know how Sawyer would react. And, they just want to keep the beautiful feelings they share to themselves. But the day fast approaches when Taron has to leave. Their love is real and Noel knows she will wait for him as long as it takes for him to come back to her.

“This is what heaven must be like. Heaven is finding the thing you can’t live without and being able to hold it. Hell is knowing you’ll have to let it go.”

Noel and Taron keep in touch constantly until something happens that changes everything. Taron and his friends are discharged honorably but he can’t return to Noel. Instead he goes back to Nashville to work for Patton. He’s not the man Noel deserves. He’s not the man he used to be.

Dove

This is such a beautiful book. It’s a story of finding the one you are destined to be with. Just when you think things can’t be any better, the bottom is dropped out of everything. But that’s the beauty of true love, finding your way back. Taron will have to earn back Noel’s trust, her love. But he is determined to do whatever it takes, to be the man he should be for her.

“You’ll never do a whole lot unless you’re brave enough to try.” ~ Dolly Parton #quotes #spitfiregirl #bebrave #inspirationalquotes

Once you pick this up, you’re not going to want to put it down. Tia has such a beautiful way of telling her stories. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Endlessly sweet and absolutely heartbreaking all at once Wait For Me is the kind of book that romance addicts dream of. Filled with swoon, laughter, tears and love this read is one you won’t be able to put down! I loved how with this second chance we get to fully experience both the past and present. Tia Louise did a beautiful job of bringing that together in a way that felt completely natural. Getting to see every side of Taron and Noel’s story made this book truly complete.
These two have that kind of instant chemistry that rapidly grows into a connection you just know is going to last forever. Their love is so sweet it almost hurts. Even when the worst happens that love still holds on and keeps you cheering for them. I honestly could not get enough of these two!

Wait for Me is a second chance romance that’s a stand-alone, but set in the same world as ‘Boss of Me’. Tia Louise is a fantastic storyteller and I always enjoy her books. I loved so much about this one, the first half was a 5 star read for me. Unfortunately, though I didn’t dislike the second half, it had my least favorite troupe. This is 100% my fault, as I didn’t read the blurb before reading the story and it states it pretty clearly.

Taron Rhodes and Noel LaGrange meet at the LaGrange peach farm. Noel’s oldest brother Sawyer and Taron are in the Marines together and decide to spend some time there to help with the harvest before they’re deployed. Noel is eighteen and getting ready to start college. The last thing she’s looking for is love. Taron is leaving and it’s a recipe for disaster, but these two can’t stay away from one another.

Gosh, I loved Taron and Noel’s love story. I loved watching it develop and seeing them fall for each other. The first half of the book had this magical quality for me. With just enough time to fall hard for each other, but not near enough time to spend together, Taron is off. He’s gone for a 18 month deployment but Noel is determined to wait for him. She just never expects that when he comes home, he won’t be the same…

Wait for Me was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I didn’t love the troupe, but I adored the characters, the writing, and a lot of the story. I love all of these characters and I am so freaking excited for Sawyer’s story! I can’t wait! Also, if you don’t have an issue with this particular troupe I highly recommend you pick this one up. It was the only thing I didn’t love about it.

****4.5 Stars!!!!!****

Another amazing read from Tia Louise! I am such a fan of her work and everything I have read of hers so far has been a pleasure and an entertaining experience!

This book can be read as a stand alone; but it is way better to read “Boss of Me” first. That book is where we meet Taron ( he’s the hero in this story), as well as we get more history of him and his buddies from the military. I personally am hooked on the handsome, sexy war heroes and definitely can’t wait for more! Hearing that Sawyer’s book is coming out in Spring is like an early Xmas present for me!!!

In this story we have Taron and Noel who meet when Taron shows up at his buddy Sawyer’s peach orchard to give him a helping hand during the busy season. When Taron lays his eyes on Sawyer’s sister; Noel, sparks fly! They are both quite young but the attraction is sooo strong and impossible for them to ignore. The downside to these two falling in love is that Taron is leaving with Sawyer to be in the military... and they have no knowledge of when they will be back. Of course, nothing goes as predicted, and a tragedy happens to the guys that change all of their lives forever.

I could go on but I don’t want to ruin the the story for others. What I can say is that this story took me on a roller coaster of emotions! It was heartwarming at times and then heartbreaking at others. I had some laughs and then some tears. It was for sure a book that made me feel, and I love that when I am reading!

I highly recommend this story and also’Boss of Me! Now I have to wait until Spring for Sawyer’s story!! I am super happy to hear that he’s going to have his own book! As for “Wait For Me”, it comes out on December 17th!

Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review!

wait-for-me

WAIT FOR ME: Is a full length, second chance romance novel by Tia Louise. But Taron is a carryover character from“Boss of Me

As far as second chance romances go this one was top notch, it's not a genre I tend to jump on a lot as they tend to be same old same old, they meet, they break up, then they meet up again, and bingo there you have it, a second chance romance. But this one was so much more than that. It had so many layers to the story. It wrung out so many feels that even I wasn't prepared for.

In this we meet, Taron and Noel, Taron is Sawyer's best buddy and Noel is Sawyer's baby sister. So you have a slight forbidden aspect there, normally guys steer clear of their best buds sister, but not in this case. Taron has agreed to help Sawyer out during their busy harvest season on their one hundred acre peach orchard which he's inherited before they're both deployed.

The first time he claps eyes on Noel there where she literally falls in his arms there is an instant spark between them which you can feel sizzling away in the background igniting the longer they spend with each other. During their short time these two spent with each other, they fell hard and fast. I fell under their spell, it was believable, undeniable, and all consuming.

But their time is running out as Taron's next assignment is looming. Noel knows without a doubt that she will wait for Taron.

Whilst Sawyer is off serving his country Noel plans to go to business school which she can put into practice with her organic productions using peaches from off the farm which she's been dabbling in.

Noel and Taron do keep in touch whilst he's deployed, just when he arranges time off to visit Noel a spanner is thrown into the works and they are on a mission to save a brother. When he's honourably discharged I sat with bated breath hoping he'd make his way back to Noel but that's not how this story goes, he's not the man he wants to be, he's not the prince she's after. Time goes by and just when I've nearly given up hope for these two to be reunited again Taron makes his way back to the place where he left his heart.

"I gave him my first real kiss, my heart, my everything.
I said I’d wait for him…

I’m still waiting, because Taron Rhodes is still the man of my dreams,
And I have a secret that has his blue-green eyes."

Really?
How stupid is that?
Aren't writers sick of the stupid girl cliché, yet? The pathetic girl who gives him her everything and then stupidly gets pregnant and then again stupidly waits for him for years and years...

Are we supposed to find this romantic or what? All I see is sheer stupidity and I am just annoyed by the idea...

Dear writer, this annoying and frustrating trope has been done millions of times. Come on, please get more creative...

I may not be the biggest fan of second chance romances, but I am a big fan of this author and the best friends little sister trope. So I was really excited to start this one and it hit all of my expectations. I loved getting more of Taron after meeting him in Boss of Me and I actually liked him more than I thought I would. He surprised me so much with how open he was with Noel when they first met.

A lot of this book is set when they were younger and first meeting, but I loved that we got to see them at that younger age before life had changed for them so much. They had such a strong romance that had me swooning like a crazy person. And when we did move forward to the present, even though I really wasn't sure what to expect, they still had that connection that I loved. It was different and a little less open at first since they both had things to work through, but it was still very evident that they were perfect for each other.

Overall, this was an amazing story that I would recommend to anyone. It has all the feels and the romance is written so beautifully you'll find yourself quickly falling in love with both Taron and Noel.

A second chance, emotional romance, unlike any other you will read.

Right from the beginning of Wait For Me Tia drenches you in big feelings. Her words rolled over me and I was completely drowned in Noel and Taron's story. I knew immediately I did not want to be revived until the very last page was turned and trust me, the ups and downs of this story were so worth losing myself in one entire sitting.

From the very beginning you get the sense that Noel and Taron will fall in love and you know there will be heartbreak. What you don't know is the magnitude of emotions that are going to hit you and the depth of which these two people truly love one another until you read it for yourself.

Noel and Taron have a young love - all encompassing - can't think of anything else - whirlwind kind of romance. They go into it with their eyes wide open knowing that Taron is leaving for the marines, but neither have ever felt these kind of powerful feelings before so they decide to wait for each other, even knowing the danger he is embarking upon.

Even as they stay connected through today's means of technology and through older means of letter writing and gift boxes, the terrible happens and they both are changed forever. I will leave the rest of the anticipation for what Wait For Me entails because you need to read this story yourself and get swept away like I did.

Wait For Me is both a story that is heartwarming and gut wrenching. It is filled with so many emotions that will pull at every heart string and keep you enraptured until the very last page.

Noel LaGrange lives in a small town called Harristown in Louisiana where her family owns and runs a peach orchard on a hundred acre farm. Everything changes for her when her big brother Sawyer brings home his best friend to help with the harvest for the summer. Taron Rhodes is the sexiest man she’s ever seen, and soon they are swept up by a whirlwind romance. He’s her first love, and they share something real and special. He’s a Marine leaving soon for active duty, but they decide to live in the moment until they have to say goodbye.

After Taron was deployed, he’d always planned to come back home to Noel, but he didn’t return the same man. He was haunted and surrounded by darkness, and needed time to heal. In the process of finding himself again, he destroys and breaks Noel’s heart.

-I'm overwhelmed by the intensity of my feelings for her.

-I never want to forget how she feels in my arms.

-I understand the concept of two becoming one in this moment. I feel like she's become a part of me.

-"I've waited for you my whole life. I'll wait for you as long as it takes."

Almost seven years have gone by, and Taron still can’t let go of the past, or the girl whole stole his heart. He still thinks about the best summer of his life, and wishes he could go back and do things differently. No longer broken, he wants to make things right. He’s determined to prove himself to Noel, and show her he’s changed.

Noel is shocked to see the man who left her shattered years ago. He was gone, but never forgotten. No matter how hard she tried, she had a daily reminder with his same blue-green eyes. She doesn’t know what the future holds for them, or if she can forgive him, but the love is still there.

Wait For Me by Tia Louise is a fantastic, standalone, brother’s best friend, military romance about young love, forgiveness, and second chances. I really loved this heartwarming story, and hope we get books for both brothers!

Oh my gosh! This is one of the most charming, sincere, sometimes painful, second chance stories I’ve ever read!

’I didn’t know which way love would take me, quietly or with the roar of a freight train. I should’ve known. I should’ve realized the moment I saw him.’

description

I absolutely adored Noel! She was smart and witty and extremely loyal to her family as well as Taron...once he won her heart. Determined to make her dreams come true, as well as proving herself to her brother, she worked hard to turn those hopes into reality. While she was dedicated to her chosen occupation, she remained soft, sweet, caring.

Taron never expected to find the woman for him while helping his friend out in his peach orchard. But when Noel falls into his arms, he knows immediately that is exactly where she belongs. However, he doesn’t run roughshod over her to get what he wants. His slow, easy wooing of her was perfectly romantic in every way.

description

I loved Taron even when life threw him down a hole that he couldn’t get out of, a hole he chose to hide in.

’Heaven is finding the thing you can’t live without and being able to hold it. Hell is knowing you’ll have to let it go.’

But I fell completely into adoration with him when he not only emerges from that place, but sets out to win his girl back, and then finds himself dancing with Angelina Ballerina. I’m sure my ovaries dried up years ago but Taron and Dove together were enough to bring them roaring back to life. TMI? Sorry, but nothing is more swoon worthy than a big brawly man with a tiny delicate little girl who calls him “Daddy”.

description

While this couple do have years of separation between them, and there is definitely moments of angst, it doesn’t consume the whole story. This is quite simply a beautiful story of first love and second chances.

’I’ve learned that love is a tornado, destructive and fierce and powerful. It’s also a butterfly, soft, gentle, beautiful. But to get to the butterfly, you must go through the tornado.’

4 Sweet Peach Memories Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
I love reading the notes and acknowledgments by authors. They are sometimes in the back of the book or are done as dedicated. These insights into the author's mindset can truly add so much to the reading of the story.

With Wait for Me, Tia Louise dedicated the book to her husband and his desire for a story about the peach orchard where he grew up. She also mentioned a dear friend too. With these concepts planted within me, I started the book with a solid foundation.

This is a love story for sure, and it is strong and capable like all Tia Louise stories. Yet, there is another love story happening along with it...the care, magic, and beauty of the peach orchard is a serious part of this book. It is shown with the wonder of how the trees are nurtured. It is felt when you can close your eyes and sense the sweet fragrance of peaches being plucked and carted away to market. It also nods to how this was an Orchard, not Farm. How it was a calling, a way of life.

With this as the base, I understood how romance and young love could bloom.

This book is done in parts.
We have beginning love, promises made and the belief in good will always win out. It is swoony, risky as it is a little forbidden as our guy is smitten with the little sister of his best friend. It is first love for her and then there is the time limit as he and her brother are going away to serve.

Hope is the foundation and belief in love and holding on takes place by our gal. Her strength is true. But the fates her man had to deal with was too much for him to overcome. He wasn't able to let go of what happened during his service...he was physically injured and that would heal. What wouldn't heal were the guilt, his mental pain, and the need to dull his mind and hide. He broke his promise of coming back to her.

This next part shows where both of these characters are...She is willing to fight, to figure out how to help if she can...and he is lost to her.

Time passes and he has been able to turn his life around with the support of his friends and work. He has finally worked through the demons, mostly, that have been torturing him all these years. It is time to reclaim the life he wanted back in that peach orchard...the life he thought would be so dear...

We are given a woman who overcame much. Who had the strength to see what mattered most and put her own dreams on hold. She had the support of her family to assist her but it was her will to be the best for those she loved that carried her. She is now ready to venture out and finally do what she had put on hold for so long.

With this setup, we have these young lovers meeting again. There is much to take in and will they be able to make amends and allow the love they have for each other surface and take hold...

Tia Louise takes all of these issues and weaves a heartbreaker of a story that will hit all the touchpoints. There is swoony young love, secretive and hot...there is strength and determination of beliefs all will be alright. There are also the challenges and reality of what service is...tough and sometimes so painful, recovery from what has taken place almost impossible.

And then there is the question of young love still dormant, waiting to see if it still has a chance to weather the tough times and bloom as it should have.

This series of related books that can be read as stand-alone worked and captured my heart. A job well done Ms. Louise.

With Miss Louise books, I have luke warm feeling. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is OK feeling. The same OK feeling I got for Wait for Me. Its not bad but its not memorable. There is insta lust between the characters. There is not much character development in the story.

I thought the story is going to be dramatic with unsent letters. But the unsent letters only made a brief appearance and done nothing on the story plot. There are some sweet moment between Taron and Dove. But the chemistry between Taron and Noel, is flat. Before they can sizzle, it dies out fast.

Well anyway, it is OK read for me.

I came from reading Pattons perspective in the book Boss of me. Loved that Taron and Noel got their second chance and HEA.

3.5 - 4 STARS

I really, really loved the first half of this book. The best friend's younger sister vibe was DELICIOUS and so steamy. I stayed up late devouring it. And while I enjoyed the second half almost as much, there was something that felt a little disjointed for me in the transition between the past and the present. The first half was fleshed out perfectly, the build between Taron and Noel was undeniably palpable. Something just felt rushed later on in the book (maybe I secretly hoped for more of a grovel period.) But even given that, Wait For Me still made for quite an enjoyable read the entire way through.

Tia Louise is such a phenomenal storyteller and writer, she could pretty much write anything and I'd devour it hungrily. This story of second chances and forgiveness and military service mixed with an unbearable trauma was a beautiful one, a heartbreaking one, a hopeful one full of captivating characters and smart dialogue. It's richly layered, superbly romantic, and quintessential Tia Louise with an extra special dose of southern sweetness that truly sets it apart. I adored these characters and their second chance romance and I'm certain you'll definitely enjoy this one!

the prologue has somewhat of a good promise...but later on, I have to admit I only finished it bc it is for a reading challenge...
very surface scratching with the writing even with heavier subjects!! which makes this very forgettable read!!

Totally enjoyed this one. Full review to follow

The past to present in this one totally worked for me. I was able to really feel what the relationship started as and how important it was to both of these characters. Life is messy and when that rolls up into my romance it makes it that much more believable for me. Tia Louise is a skilled story teller and she again keeps me captive with these two first loves that although lose years find themselves. It was hard at times to not yell at my kindle to make them see what I so clearly saw, lol but overall I was taken by all of it. Can't wait for more. xo

Heaven is finding the thing you can’t live without and being able to hold it. Hell is knowing you’ll have to let it go.

I love an emotional second chance romance, and when I read the blurb to this book, I was immediately hooked. Tia knows how to pack one heck of an emotional punch in her writing, so I knew I was in for plenty of feels.

Wait For Me is told in two halves; the first half telling the sweet and steamy story of Taron and Noel meeting and falling in love. Taron is best friends with Noel's older brother and finds himself in their small town in the short interim before he takes off for the Marines. Noel is eighteen years old but really has an old soul to her. It doesn't take long for these two to fall head over heels with Noel promising to wait for Taron. But unfortunately fate has other plans for them, and as beautifully as things first came together for them, they fall apart in a devastating and fiery crash.

As much as I loved the premise of the story and both Taron and Noel, I found myself wishing parts of both the first and second half were further fleshed out. I couldn't help but feel like I was getting a very surface level of what this story could have been. I loved the first half of this book, but also wished for Taron's characterization to take me a little deeper. Yes, they're both young, and I can totally buy into their quick connection because of it. But I also wanted more. I can't quite put my finger on what exactly, but something felt missing.

The second half is ultimately where it really fell short for me, though. The story moved quickly and I wanted parts to be more fleshed out; Taron's issues being the epicenter of this. I felt like this was really just grazed over and couldn't help but wish we got a deeper dive into what he went through. The second half of the story ultimately felt rushed and too quick paced. I wished it were flipped and we got to spend more time with them in the present rather than their past. This was such an emotional and touching part of their story, that I really wanted more from it. Ultimately, I still really enjoyed this story that still delivered on the emotional punch I was hoping for. There was plenty of steam and feels to make it for a page turning read.

Absolutely loved this story. Love secret baby romances and this one did not disappoint ❤. Great storyline that moved relatively quickly. The chemistry between the two MCs were awesome and you really felt for them as they worked through their issues. Can't wait to read the other books in the series!

Wait For Me truly tugged on my heart strings, had me laughing and thoroughly enjoying the story until Taron’s drama started. The story took a turn then and I had a problem with accepting the way it was going until he finally came to his senses.

Taron and Noel’s story was interesting, to say the least. It was definitely lust at first sight that turned into love. The bantering between the two was adorable and something you wouldn’t expect from a tough Marine. But, he showed he had a heart, a light side and knew how to love. He also proved that he knew how to break a heart.

Noel was young, a little naive and thoroughly in love with Taron. Her first kiss, her first love, her first heart-break. But, she had a secret. Maybe one that could have brought Taron to his senses a little bit sooner.

And then there was Dove … beautiful, precocious and the apple of everyone’s eyes. Unfortunately, it takes an accident for feelings to be admitted to and forgiveness to be given. You also find yourself forgiving Taron for his mistake and Noel for her stubbornness. There’s a bigger picture that no one was looking at until Dove made everyone open their eyes.

Sweet and innocent … light and fun … until it wasn’t. Tia Louise ran the gamut with emotions in Wait For Me. The highs were high and the lows were definitely low. The characters were well written. We understood where they were coming from, how they got where they ended up. We were able to understand how they were feeling and why. And, everything and everyone really meshed together. I may have had a little problem with the story feeling rushed at times and some of the dialogue being a bit simple but, it was the epilogue that really made the story come together for me and had me truly fall in love with this story.

4 ⭐'s

Noel's family has been through some tragedy but between herself and her two brothers, they have managed to keep the family's peach orchard going and doing well.

That's when she meets Taron. He met Sawyer (older brother) at basic training and comes to help him with the orchard before they head out on their mission. Noel and Taron only have a few weeks together but they fall in love and fall hard.

They manage to make it work...and it's nice to have some hope especially after a year of being apart. However, just as Taron is getting some time off, one of his team is kidnapped and when they go to get him, things do not end well. Sawyer comes home and tells Noel that Taron wants nothing to do with her and that he is a changed man.

Naturally, Noel doesn't let that slide. She goes to see him and things go well at first - then all hell breaks loose. Luckily, Noel finally gets a glimmer of hope...hope of moving forward with her life.

Fast forward seven years and Taron is back and he has a whole lot of "splaining" to do.

I quite enjoyed all the angst that happened before the time jump even though that last bit was very harsh. The second half was a different story. It was just too cliché. This is my first book by Tia Louise so I'm not sure if this is her MO but it would've been nice to switch things up a bit and do something new.

It does end well even with all the other drama going on and Taron and Noel really do have a sweet romance.

♦ BTW - another member of Taron and Sawyer's team, Patton already has a book out called Boss of Me. Sawyer's book called Here With Me is coming out April 20, 2020.
