All is not well within the Barcelona dressing room, with many members of the first-team squad feeling cheated after a transfer window that promised so much.

Ernesto Valverde hasn't just got a sporting job on his hands now, he's got to motivate his players to achieve their set objectives.

The majority of the squad, especially the senior players, were very much in favour of the possible return of Neymar.

The prospect of reuniting the MSN trident - which consisted of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar - was a tantalising one and excited almost everyone, so the players asked president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the board to do everything they could to re-sign Neymar.

The players' feeling was that the club weren't really interested in re-signing the Brazilian and some of them saw their offers as a way of keeping them happy.

Ivan Rakitic wasn't impressed with the way that the club tried to use him as part of a deal to sign Neymar, whilst also being frustrated with Valverde for leaving him out of the starting line-up in the opening weeks of the season, despite the fact that he's fully committed and wants to stay at the Camp Nou.

Elsewhere in the squad, Ousmane Dembele's professionalism hasn't improved, and the talk of a dependence on Messi has already resurfaced after just one win in three games without him.

The international fixtures bring a welcome break for everyone involved to lick their wounds and regroup ahead of the tough months that lie ahead.
