RIGHT NOW -- HE'S STILL IN CRITICAL CONDITION AT MASS GENERAL HOSPITAL IN HE WAS THE ONE WHO POLICE SAY SMELLED FUMES -- AND STARTED GETTING EMPLOYEES OUT OF THE BUILDING. The maintenance manager critically injured in Monday's explosion of a building in Farmington is being called a hero.Officials said Larry Lord helped get at least dozen people out of the LEAP Inc. building before it exploded."First, and in no uncertain terms, Larry Lord is a hero. His leadership in evacuating the building saved many lives. We are all so grateful to him," Farmington Board of Selectmen member H. Scott Landry said."Without his quick actions, I think it would have been a much more horrific tragedy," Farmington Fire Chief Jack Peck said. The blast killed Farmington Fire Capt. Michael Bell and injured six other firefighters in addition to Lord.Lord was taken to Mass General in Boston, where he was listed in critical condition on Wednesday.A GoFundMe page has been created to help Lord and his family. The page had raised more than $70,000 as of Wednesday afternoon.The page said Lord suffered burns to more than half of his body, along with other injuries. The page said he is expected to be in the hospital for at least four months.In addition to serving as the maintenance manager for LEAP, Lord is also the animal control officer for the town of Livermore Falls.
