Hello!
My name is Ethan Ostrow, and I am a 20 year old Jazz musician from Berkeley. In September 2016, I was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, a rare type of blood cancer. My treatment was extremely difficult, but thankfully I survived and have been given a new lease on life!
One of the principal things that helped me look to the end of treatment during those months in the hospital was a simple dream. I wanted to put on a fundraiser concert to raise money for cancer charities, and to celebrate the end of that chapter in my life in the best way I know how: with music. This dream came to fruition last summer, and I was able to host a benefit concert and raise $22,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
This July, I will be holding the second annual iteration of that event. I am happy to be sharing the stage with two impeccable musicians, who also happen to be my good friends. We will be playing a dynamic set featuring a diverse array of music!
The most important thing, of course, is that this concert will be raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, an organization that has funded much of the medical research that saved my life. They have been gracious enough to offer us resources, volunteers, and support in putting together this event.
