Happening now! Wish kid Lily is skating with her idol, Mario Lemieux! She has always had a love for hockey and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Former Pittsburgh Penguin and NHL star, Mario Lemieux, teamed up with the Make-a-Wish Foundation to make a young fan’s dream come true. Despite living in South Carolina, sixteen-year-old Lily Tarasiewicz has always been a Pittsburgh Penguins fan. According to a report in Pittsburgh magazine, Lily got to hit the ice with her idol. She was reluctant at first, before allowing Lemieux to guide her. In October 2015, Lily was diagnosed with stage 3B Hodgkin’s lymphoma and fought hard against the disease. She underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy and is now in remission. Read the rest of this story here.
