Work to start on contractor’s new £2.5m HQ

Work is set to start later this month on a building contractor's new £2.5m headquarters in Warwick after the plans were given the green light.

MCS Group, which is currently based in Claverdon, Warwickshire, will build a new 8,500 sq ft base at the Opus 40 site in Haywood Road.

The company, which operates across the industrial, storage and distribution, motor, retail, and commercial sectors, has gained planning permission from Warwick District Council for the new development.

Founded in 2003, the company was first based at Stoneleigh Deer Park, now Abbey Park, before relocating to its current base at Claverdon.

It currently employs 55 staff, which could rise to 65 once the new headquarters is completed in early 2019.

The company has set itself a target of doubling its current turnover to about £200m by 2020 and increasing profits.

Founder and group managing director Keir Edmonds said: "Developing our new state-of-the-art headquarters in Warwick is a major investment in the future of our business and our workforce.

"It’s a clear statement of intent and demonstrates how ambitious we are to grow the company by delivering projects of the highest quality.

"Our new offices will allow us to showcase our expertise in commercial construction whilst providing a gateway statement headquarters building on to the Opus 40 site.

"We are market leaders in the motor retail sector but we are becoming increasingly well known for our expertise in delivering major projects in industrial, storage and distribution.

"That’s where we see a major opportunity to win substantial levels of new business and establish ourselves as one of the leading main contractors in the sector."
