descriptionOK this cover would be great FOR A DIFFERENT BOOK. The heroine has long BLONDE hair, and there is NO mention of the hero having tattoos. Covers that have NO connection to the story or models that look NOTHING like the characters found within is such a HUGE pet peeve of mine. This book was AWESOME and deserves a cover that at least somewhat represents the characters.description

descriptionSo this review is going to be a little vague as I don't want to give too much away about this one. Suffice it to say that I LOVED it. I found it well written and nicely paced. The plot was interesting, and it had twists and turns aplenty.

description

I have to take a moment to give myself a pat on the back. I am excellent at Sherlocking twists, and I will say I had a good idea from the start where this one was headed. I turned out to be right. I don't think it was particularly evident, but since I had a little suspicious what the twist was going to be, I picked up on clues here and there. That said it DID NOT take any enjoyment away from the reading experience. It wasn't heavy of side characters, but the few we see here and there added layers to the story. Both main characters were likable and well developed. There were a couple of sex scenes but don't go into this one expecting that to be the primary focus, and the ending was OK. I'm not taking any stars off because the book overall was completely enjoyable but I would have liked a little something more from the ending.

Like I said, LOVED IT so go forth and give this one a read. Two HUGE thumbs up from yours truly.description

This one was an ok read for me. I actually liked the beginning of the book, when Lena and Jake meet. It was a suspenseful, spicy romance with a tiny mystery. It didn't blow my mind, but it was still an enjoyable read!
My biggest issue with the story is the plotline of Lena faking being her twin. It truly dragged on for longer than it should. Plus, the excessive wordiness that tired me out.
Well crafted, but the characters and their connection never went past the superficial. It was angsty and light but I was not that sold to the story.

In short:
Hero 4/5 | Heroine 3/5 | Plot (Point, Originality) 4/5 | Writing Style 3/5 | Steam 3/5 | Romance 3/5 | Angst-Suspense 4/5 | Darkness 1/5 | Humor 0/5 | Secondary Characters 3/5 | Drama-Conflict 3/5 | Mystery 3/5 | Twists 3/5 | Pacing Steady | Action 3/5

MISTAKEN IDENTITY: by M.C. Jackson is a stand alone suspenseful, psychological romance novel that will having you guessing right up till the end. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives'

This was super easy to get into, straight away you're pulled into the grittiness of what Lena is discovering after waking up in a place unknown, locked in a basement, chained to a bed, her body, bruised, bloody, swollen, left in nothing but tattered pyjamas.

One minute she was out clubbing with six co-workers celebrating because a new client was happy with her work, she remembers arriving home, getting into bed THEN BLANK. She can’t remember anything else that night. How did she end up here?

Reminiscing about better times when she was close to her sister before their parents died. Wishing that things were different between them, before she disappeared, missing her.

Two sisters who are as different as chalk and cheese
Anna skates precariously between right and wrong whereas Lena was the good girl never stepping out of line.

I'm going to cut my review off here so as not to wreck it for others, because as soon as you reach the 80% mark as there are a few twists and turns.

GAH!! I don't know if it's just a mood I'm in or what, the beginning grabbed me by the throat, kidnapped, locked in a cage in a basement, she doesn't know the kidnapper, which I thought was a perfect setting for a gritty semi dark read, a sister on the search for her twin, but then it kind of loses my interest, going past that half way mark nothing happens, it's not until you reach about 80% it all starts to unravel and make sense. I had to push myself to finish this, I'd even slipped in a non arc in the hopes that I'd get thrown back into this storyline, I just really struggled with this one.

I love a good psychological thriller type book every now and then and the feeling I got from this book was that it would been one heckuva ride trying to figure out what was going on.

Lana was strong willed in figuring things out that she put her self in a crazy position but you can't help but respect her because of her motives.

Jake was easy to read but at the same time he was very hard to read. I really liked his dedication to what he was doing because he knew that it was right.

I can't go into too much detail without risk of spoiling but I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going on, what happened and when were we going to find out.

Overall, I thought the author did a really amazing job keeping me guessing. I never really figured out what was going on until things are revealed and then I saw everything in a bigger picture. Being my first book by this author I can't wait to read more in the future. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Twists and turns you don't see coming

Lena is kidnapped and she soon realizes her captor thinks she's her missing sister. Does she go along in hope of finding out what happened to her twin?

Mistaken Identity is a suspenseful read with twists and turns along the way.

Jake takes Lena and I know when something like that happens we aren't suppose to love the character but I loved him.

There is so much to this story that I can't say because I don't want to give out spoilers, but there were things I didn't see coming and definitely an AH-HA moment.

I felt the author did a great job with the story line and the suspense.

Wow ! very unexpected and clever twist ! I loved this book, a really great read that had me hooked from the very beginning and I love that it's a standalone.

I actually thought and secretly hoped that this book was going to be a little darker but it didn't matter ....it was much more psychological, really unpredictable and totally gripping. I love it when a book catches you by surprise and hold your attention all the way.

I'm not recapping or giving any of the story away, if you are unsure of what to read next - this is totally worth a one-click.

This author is new to me and I'll definitely be on the look out for more.

These are my Happily Ever After Novel Thoughts...

This story starts out as pretty good. It was a good, solid 4 star read, and then #plottwist! Bam!! Just like that, 5 stars!

Lena is a great character and it's hard not to feel sympathy for her. Jake is out of his mind with worry and it causes him to run hot and cold a great deal.

There are quite a few things you get hit with and didn't see coming right at you.

I love how unpredictable this story is. No matter how hard I tried to figure things out, it felt just out of my grasp. The love Jake showed was confusing as well because he was hardly around. 1 + 1 was not equaling 2!

Great story! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes a twisting ride in search of a Happily Ever After.

I've been waiting for so long to have a book pull this twist and have me blind to it all. This is one of few books in the suspense genre that kept me intrigued throughout the story.

Lena was a very confused character. When you consider her childhood it becomes painfully believable. Though I didn't understand why she kept up her "farce" for so long and why she didn't rush to read the journal she found. Other than that I liked her as a character. She kept the reader just as confused and pensive as she was. Though I did start getting angry at her for how far she was taking her farce with Jake before everything fell into place.

After getting the whole story I came to the conclusion that I like Jake. I don't agree with his methods and I think he could have handled everything a tad bit better. Overall he's a good guy who's doing everything in his power to "save" Anna.

I enjoyed this novel and the ending was sweet. I liked how she finally got the help she needed after everything she had gone through during her life. I also appreciated that she admitted that she wanted and needed help without being forced into it.

My Favorite Quotes:

"My issues ran so deep that all the therapy in the world wasn't going to help me.

"If there is one sure thing I've learned in my life, it's that people will never fail to disappoint you."

"It just proves that you never really know what people are capable of. Even when you think you know them."

Very well written, good level of suspense.
Despite I figured out pretty early what the big twist would be, I was still shocked about some things.

No, male protagonist DIDN'T sleep with both sisters.

I can't say more without revealing the big secret.

Why only 2 stars?
Because of this one reason:

Male protagonist saved female protagonist from being raped. They met in rehab where his father was the lead psychiatrist. So, his father was the one who attempted to rape her. MP saved his woman, but did NOTHING to stop his father from abusing other patients.
His father, who also abused his wife/MP's mother, continued to work as a psychiatrist.

Was it love to "sacrifice" the others to save his woman?!
Was it worth it?!

I was gifted an ARC of Mistaken Identity by M.C. Jackson in exchange for an honest review.

Lena finds herself in a precarious situation and she doesn't know how or why it happened. She wants answers and a way out of her prison. She feels as though her life was just starting to make sense, before she is taken by her captor, Jake. She can't figure who Jake is and why he has kidnapped her. She's even more baffled by his looks of familiarity.

Lena soon realizes that Jake is connected to her sister, her twin. She's been looking for her sister for the longest time and she wants to find her. She desperately wants to reconnect with her better half, her twin even though they haven't always gotten along. She finds herself curious about the mysterious and very gorgeous Jake, curious about his history with her sister.

What Jake doesn't get is that Lena isn't the sister he was searching for. He has mistaken Lena for her twin sister, Anna. He has a past with Lena's sister, a history, and a shared love. He's willing to do just about anything for the woman that he loves and cares deeply about. He wants to guard her and keep her out of harm's way. He's willing to make sacrifices to do so.

What Lena doesn't count on is her reaction to Jake as a man. His touch scares her as much as it excites her. It seems familiar, they feel familiar. It throws her off her game. She isn't prepared for someone like him, she's been hurt so many times by the people that she's trusted. She comes to the conclusion that Jake would go to any lengths to protect her.

Mistaken Identity by M.C. Jackson is definitely a page turner. It's going keep you at the edge of your seat trying to figure out what's really going on. It's also filled without a lot of twists and turns that really worked well for the story. I was surprised as those twists and turns unfolded as the story progressed. I didn't see it going down like that, but I loved the
unexpectedness and gave this one a four star rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐.

***4 Crazy Stars!***

This was a phenomenal story! There was so much suspense and I honestly did not see the ending coming at all.

Lena is taken by Jake who thinks she is her twin Anna who has been missing for 5 years after leaving their home with their aunt and uncle. Lena has no memory in the days leading to her abduction. She does realize that Jake thinks that she is Anna and she plays along so that she can get the answers that needs regarding her sister. Lena and Anna lost their parents young and had a really rough time physically and emotionally when their parents died. From here we get tidbits of their teenage years and the motive on why Anna leaves and never came back.

Throughout the book there are so many questions regarding Jake and Anna’s relationship and what really happened in the days leading to Lena’s abduction. Lena honestly does not know if Jake is the good or bad guy. There are so many twists and the ending was just crazy. A good crazy though. All of our questions are answered and you will be VERY SHOCKED once you read the ending. This was a great read and I so look forward to reading more from this author.

My 1st read, written by: M.C. Jackson, was curious to know more about the author, but Goodreads is not helping, neither does Amazon??! ... find it interesting how some authors are so quiet about themselves ... & you wanna promote to help their great awesome books but there is nothing to share?

this is a thriller, suspenseful, romance, very unexpected twist, a great and wild ride M.C. Jackson does take you on. this book will pull ya in and away from all going on ... you will not be able to put it down 'til it is over and then you will think where did the time go? Loved it! wow wee, what a shocker! ( ;

The blurb for this book had piqued my interest and I was really excited to read this one!
Girl kidnapped and pretending to be her missing twin-tell me this doesn't interest you!
The book started off well and the mystery had me wondering things along with Lena.We start off knowing almost nothing like she does and the author feeds us the info bit by bit, through flashbacks and discoveries.
Halfway through the book I kinda guessed the twist that was to come and I think that sorta ruined the experience for me :P.
The terrible circumstances and the psyche of the heroine kinda reminded me of a book that I'd read few years back named Unravel by Calia Read.
In Mistaken Identity, I think I preferred Lena over Jake. She was strong, clearheaded and clever. She didn't let the past or her experiences stop her.I loved how loyal Jake was to her and how much he was willing to do for her.The way their relationship slowly developed along with the diary entry stories had me feeling really happy for them. The only problem with Jake was that sometimes he was too hasty in his decisions. But that was completely realistic as he was under a lot of stress and trouble.
I would have loved to see even more supporting characters with a lot more detailing. The ending was really good with most of the threads tied up neatly. After everything that Lena and Jake have been through I think they deserved that.
I would suggest this book to anyone who wants a good romantic suspense which will keep you on the edge of your seat till the end, with unexpected twists!

I am still reeling from this. Still trying to wrap my mind around it. This book takes you on a very bumpy ride. You think you see where it is going but than you get thrown again and bam your at the beginning wondering what the heck.

Lena, Anna and Jake are the focus but for me Jake is where it all lies within. He is a catalyst for many things.

Jake is a good character. He genuinely cares for Anna and do whatever it takes to help her for he does love her. He gave up so much for her and is still willing to sacrifice for her that much is true. But you aren’t really sure completely all there is about him until the end. You will waffle on whether or not he is a good guy, a madman or just down right evil? Wariness sets in and you wonder what he is up to. MC Jackson does give you little tidbits to create a scintillating character and story that captures you to go on so that the whole picture is seen and the reveal can occur.

Lena and Anna you wonder about as well. Who are they? We know they are sisters but what led to all that occurred between them. Why did one run and the other not? What happened? And why did Jake feel guilt about them but also love one as well? My biggest is how cannot he not tell the difference in them? Or does he and doesn’t let on?

You will be taken on a mind fudge like you will not begin to grasp until the end when your jaw is hanging and you are saying dayum what the what???? the story is intriguing and alluring. Takes you on one path and than turns but gives you little tidbits of carrots that are dangled in front of you and have you salivate as you learn more about Anna in Lena’s eyes and yet not enough to figure it all out. YOu are Pavlov’s dog in essence wanting more. Not knowing what to expect or what will be unturned and at the end just at a loss at the reveal. You definitely see the love Jake has for Anna and the lengths he goes to protect her and be there for her. You see her love for him as well. This is a thriller and and has you on the edge of your seat. It is in the perspective of both Jake and Lena but Jake’s is more revealing to me. Lena’s gives us perspective and background whereas Jake’s reveals tidbits and has you dangle more. You get to see that this is a complicated situation and see emotions with Jake’s POV. To say more will give this away but this story is suspense with a high and alluring but also keeps you on edge wondering what happened and why all this is going on until the end when it all comes together.

Mistaken Identity is a romantic psychological suspense that had me guessing until the end. Lena is as straight-laced as the come with her twin sister Anna, the rebel running away from everything that haunts her, they couldn't be more different sisters if they tried. Jake is as complicated as he is charming, who knows what he is capable of. These character relationships intertwine in such a unique way, making this storyline especially original.

Told in first person, from the lead characters perspectives, via memory flashbacks & current day, this was an excruciatingly slow unraveling of backstory & mystery reveal for me. The story itself is a good one, but I found myself hanging on every word trying to piece it all together - thinking perhaps I'd missed something, when I found the story lacking progress more than three-quarters of the way through.

Thank you to MC Jackson for spurring readers on with dialogue like
"I can't stop reading. I'm so close to the end, and certain I'm about to uncover something big."
&
"I know all the answers are in here, waiting for me to find them."

And they were, all is revealed in the end, & although I was very close to giving up, I'm so glad I stuck with it. Would I have liked more progression earlier on? Yes. Was it worth the wait? YES. There is no question from the start "this isn't a god dammed fairy-tale". And once the twists & turns begin, you will not be disappointed!

Mistaken Identity
By: M.C. Jackson

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Star Review by Kristie K

There is only one thing to say about Mistaken Identity…it is a phenomenal, complete and total mind-f***…

Holy plot twist!! M.C. Jackson definitely brought the rain with this one! As my first book by this author, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Mistaken Identity went from a well written psychological thriller, to a jaw-dropping phenomenon in less than a paragraph. This book deserves to be read, by any and all that love a shocking, sexy, and incredible psychological thriller/romance. I refuse to give too much away, so lets get to the review… The cover is gorgeous, and just dark enough to let the reader know this is going to be a bumpy ride. The blurb is captivating, giving just enough to draw you in and make you want to see what this book is all about. The plot and storyline…well, they are absolutely brilliant, and the execution was breathtaking. I was uncertain in the beginning, but quickly realized this was a different breed of story. Not meant for everyone, but for those that embrace it, this is amazing. The character development seemed slow at first, but as the plot and storyline unfolded, it all made sense. M.C. Jackson has proven to be an amazing storyteller, with a depth, darkness, and ingenuity that is both unique and spellbinding.

**I did receive an Advanced Reader Copy of Mistaken Identity by M.C. Jackson in exchange for my honest review**

This book really ticked me off, in a good way. At 25% through, I was having a really hard time trying to figure out the plot. At 50% through, I was still having a hard time following what was going on. At 75% I thought I had a good idea at what was happening. 82% BAM! Talk about walls crumbling, heads rolling, and OMG what on earth, I had no idea! It happened like that.

There wasn't one point that I had the plot figured out. Jackson keeps us hanging until the very end. See this book through though, don't give up. That last 20% will mess with all of your theories and leave you going "where did that come from!" With this being a first release by M.C. Jackson, I am excited to see where her writing takes us.

I'm giving Mistaken Identity 4-stars. I liked it a lot. I could have used some of the twists a bit earlier in the story. Keeping them until late in the book, made me at times wonder when we were going to get to the good stuff. There was slower parts in the book that maybe could get some more attention grabbing. Overall, after reaching the end of the book, the last part, is what brought it to 4 stars. I just didn't fathom that would be the storyline. I did love that! I loved getting a crazy twist thrown at me that I really didn't see coming!

Tried my Patience

What a wicked tale we weave...right from the start I didn't know which way was up reading Mistaken Identity. Sure, from the title alone I should have realized I was going to be on quite the ride, but sheesh, this was a bit much.

Anna and Lena are sisters with nobody but each other left. They have endured too much in thier young lives and each dealing with the situations differently. Now, Lena is in over her head, wondering how her sister is still causing trouble from so far away.

Jake has Anna for her own good. There is TONS of mystery surrounding the reasons he's kidnapped his girlfriend and is now holding her in his basement, "for her own good". Jake seems like a nice guy, but a gullible one that is also in way over his head.

While I liked the premise of Mistaken Identity, it was trying my patience, big time. I don't like feeling lost when I read, which is how I felt for most of this book. It wasn't necessarily twisty, however when the curve was thrown, I was done. It got real convoluted, real fast.

The book is well written from dual points of view. There are also journal entries that read like the book and not a journal, to fill in the story from another perspective.

Mistaken Identity is the first romantic suspense that I have from M.C. Jackson. She did awesome job of grabbing your attention and not letting go until the very end of this story.

Lena is identical in looks with her sister, Anna. They both have long golden hair and deep blue eyes, but opposite in personality. Lena is the goody two shoes out of the twins, Anna is the one always getting into trouble and running from her problems. Then you have Jake, he is charming & cute but who knows if you can trust him.

I don’t want to go into anymore details because this is one of those books that you will enjoy more if you figure out yourself. Just know this is a great psychological romance filled with chemistry, secrets, mystery and suspense. I loved this story and I would of gave it five stars if it wasn't for the fact that the book slowed down at times. I actually thought the book was going to have a continuation. Then the next thing I knew I finished reading the story. It was a unique storyline that I didn't see coming. I look forward to reading more books from M.C. Jackson.

I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily wrote an honest review.
I was very intrigued and excited to receive the ARC for this book once I read the synopsis. So when it popped up on my kindle I could not wait to start it. I wasn't really sure what to expect from it I just knew that after I read the synopsis I thought, hmmmm, I have got to get my hands on this book. I just had a feeling that it was going to be one of those books that would take me on a roller coaster ride and have my brain muddling over the story line from start to finish, and I am happy to say that I was spot on! If you like a book that has angst and mystery and makes you truly think about what your reading, this is one you should read! I think this is only my second book by this author and I can tell you I will be reading more! It has a very interesting and intriguing story line and it's not a fast moving book but it's one that sucks you in and continues to feed you bits and pieces so that you just can't put it down! The character development in this story was very good and I felt I was able to completely able to connect to the characters. I look forward to reading more from this author!

This book was unexpected. I had an idea of what the twist would be and I was wrong! I love that this book kept me guessing and was so unique and original that I couldn't even figure out fully what was going to happen. It was a mystery and I loved it. It could have been a little more polished and some ideas either needed to be expanded or left out but all in all it was a really interesting and good book. I was sucked in and I wanted to know what was going to happen, as the pages left in the book kept getting smaller I was worried the book wouldn't have an ending and then BAM twist time. And some how the author manages to wrap the book up as well. I wish the ending would have been more elaborate and the beginning maybe a little less because I wanted to understand a little better how and why it all happened. I mean it was explained I just wish we could have went a little more in depth. It was a very interesting book and I could not put it down. If you are looking for something that is entirely it's own this is the book for you. It will keep you guessing until pretty much the very end.

MC Jackson's "Mistaken Identity" is a wickedly twisty Romantic Suspense. The opening Prologue is thrilling and wonderfully ambiguous; no answers com easily in this novel. The heroine, Lena, is a frustrating character. When she finally has a clue in her hands she seems to take her time examining it. MC Jackson does a fantastic job of keeping the reader guessing as to what are Jake's true motives. Then Jake becomes a tremendously sympathetic character. The storyline is intriguing with Jake's many secrets and secret lives. Lena has her conflicting feelings regarding her captor and her desperation to find her sister. Combine all of that with the tragic and horrifying backstories of both characters and there's lots of ground to cover.
Because of the many subplots and flashbacks the pace runs the gamut; fast, moderate to slow.
The nature of the story allows the characters to grow slowly revealing themselves and developing. If you like psychological thrillers "Mistaken Identity" should be on your To Be Read list.

Mistaken Identity is full of suspense, romance and will keep you reading to trying to figure out what's going on....

This is the story of Lena (Anna) and Jake. Lena wakes up in a basement, she has no memories of what has happened to her or why she's there. She can't figure out who Jake is, or why he looks so familiar. "One word. Anna. Oh god, oh god, oh god. It all makes sense now."

Jake has called her Anna, little bits and pieces are now coming back to her. Lena plays along and lets Jake think she's Anna, since she can't remember anything that has happened.

"I forgot all about my sister while her boyfriend explored every part of my body. How f***** up is that?"

Lena ends up finding Anna's journal in the house, and has been reading it. Soon she learns that she really is Anna. "This is my journal. My sister....god, what happened to my sister? What happened to me?"

I enjoyed the story with it's many twists and turns, and although it was heartbreaking when Anna found out her sister was dead and all the details from her past, I was happy for Jake and Anna after all that they have been through.

This book was intense right out of the gate. I could not put this book down, because I constantly NEEDED to know what was going to happen next, and I kept needing answers to questions that were continuously popping up. There are romance undertones, but I would classify this book as a psychological Suspense. The characters suffer, and the story is tragic in a lot of parts. You start to get depressed learning all of their stories. Your heart breaks, and then you get hopeful just before the rug gets pulled out from underneath you, and everything hits the fan. Several HUGE twists get tossed at you all at once! If you weren't already hooked at that point, the twists do you in. It's the twists that really get you. I am still reeling from this story! I loved this book! If you are a fan of super Suspensful stories with HEA, then this is the book for you!

I received an advanced copy of this book through the Crazy Cajun Book Addicts for an honest review.

Mistaken Identity is a great book thoroughly enjoyed it!
Beware though it is a real mind-trip, it's based on Jake and Anna after he re-captures her after she found out about his secrets only to be chased down by him fall and bang her head so then she is suffering from a bout of 'amnesia' and cant remember anything, then Jake has a whole other life trying to protect Anna and to top it off this guy is head over heels in love with her but senses something isn't right! Anna finds a journal which she tries to use to help figure out Jake's weak points so she can escape again.
Then there's the whole abuse situation and then when you think you've clicked on to the story-line there's a whole new twist to the story!
The ending is very heart-warming I think anyone who reads this book will feel exactly the same.
M.C Jackson did a great job with this story it must be read.
I think anyone would enjoy this book.

3.5 stars.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this book after reading the synopsis. I had no idea what I was getting into having never read anything by this author before.

Lena is kidnapped and she soon realises that her kidnapper thinks she's her sister Anna. Lena can't remember how she came to be there and she's even more determined to find out what happened to Anna than before. But she soon starts to see that things aren't what she was expecting, leaving her with more questions than answers.

Although this book starts strong I found it to be a bit slow going at times, even though it does pick back up again towards the end.
I don't want to go into details because this is one of those books best read knowing just the basics. It's got some really good twists that I didn't see coming and I loved Jakes character. If you like a good psychological romance that's got some really good twists in it, than I urge you to check this book out. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more from MC Jackson.

Wow. I am new to M.C. Jackson. I wasn’t sure what to expect. This was not my usual read. But wow! At first I was trying to understand what was happening in the story. But then, as I finished each chapter I found myself hooked! Mistaken Identity is a psychological thriller. I haven’t read too many of them. As the story started to come together I found myself going crazy with the what??? & why???

Lena:
Last night I was surrounded by friends and today I’ve woken up and I’m locked in a basement, chained to a bed.

Jake:
This whole mess is my fault and that meant doing whatever to fix it. I pushed her too far and she cracked.

The story has twists and turns. There was the unexpected. At the end it was like a puzzle that all came together, revealing the big picture. I don’t want to spoil the story so I will end my review here.

As I said above it took me a few chapters to get a grip on what was happening. Throw in some unique plot twists and turns and some “wow”. I would definitely read another M.C. Jackson book!

4 stars!

Mind tricks...

This is a story of tragedy, struggle, and love! Seems like all the best stories come from tragedy... Anyhow, strong leads, bad guys, bad things, it's all in there! And now a bit about the story...

Can you imagine waking up locked in a basement, battered, bruised and no idea how you got there. Our why you are immediately drawn to your captor. Stockholm Syndrome takes a while, right? Anyway this is the position Lena finds herself in. Except Jake, her captor, keeps calling her Anna. Anna is her twin sister she hasn't been able to find for years. Maybe if she plays nice Jake will lead her to Anna...

Favorite passages:
- Now say it again like you mean it.
- If there is one sure thing I’ve learned in life, it’s that people will never fail to disappoint you.
- “... the best kind of conversations are the ones that take no effort,”
- I never thought I’d be so excited to go outside. God, I feel like a pet dog, waiting to be taken for a walk.
