Celebrate Spring at the National Cathedral Flower Mart, sponsored by the All Hallows Guild!

We will once again “bring in the May” as part of the All Hallows Guild Flower Mart — a popular two-day festival since 1939. DC’s favorite spring outdoor family event features plants, herbs, food, puppet shows, carousel rides, boutiques and entertainment for the whole family.

The Flower Mart culminates in Washington Revels’ annual celebration of the “greening of the year” at the west front of the Cathedral. The fun kicks off with a boisterous procession as we parade in to the notes of our “Noisy Band.” Enjoy traditional dances such as Sellinger’s Round as performed by our “Tween Chorus,” children’s singing games, and a Robin Hood mummers play. Sing along with the timeless Spring songs Wild Mountain Thyme, Sumer is Icumen In (one of the oldest surviving English songs), and everyone’s favorite musical-memory challenge, Rattlin’ Bog! Finally, be sure your children are watching closely during our festive (and intricate) Maypole dance — after we finish, it’s their turn to get in on the fun!
