Spring Egg Hunt

Calling all kids! Enjoy 2 performances by Hullabaloo and 20,000 eggs! Egg Hunt times: 10:15-ages 4 & under upper field, 5 & up lower field, 11:00-ages 4 & under upper field, 5 & up lower field, 11:45-ages 4 & under upper field, 5 & up lower field. Bring your own basket for eggs. Extra parking with a free shuttle bus is available at San Dieguito Academy High School parking lot, at Nardo and Melba roads. (Parks, Rec. and Cultural Arts)

Spring Break Arts Camps
Camp Intrepid
Spring Break Art Camp. Young artists in grades K-4 will spend the week drawing, painting, sculpting, and printmaking. No experience is necessary and all materials are supplied. Scholarships available. April 9-13, 9am-3pm. 3575 Manchester Avenue. $225 Info 

Spring Band Camp. Young musicians grades 4-8 can learn to play music in a band setting with other students of similar age and playing level. No experience necessary. April 2-6, 10am-1pm. $329. Moonlight Music, 467 S. Coast Hwy 101. $329 Info    

Spring Break Camp. Working with the education staff's teaching artists and inspired by trends in modern and contemporary art, students will work on a variety of art projects. April 2-6, 9am-2pm. $275, $350. Lux Art Institute, 1550 S. El Camino Real. Info 
Disaster Preparedness Workshop: Are You Ready?
The Encinitas Fire Department and Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will present a disaster preparedness workshop that is tailored to address disasters that are likely to affect Encinitas. Detailed steps to take before a disaster strikes will be discussed with the goal of minimizing the effects on our families and homes. Materials will be provided.

State of the City
Hear from city leaders and Mayor Catherine Blakespear. Enjoy a social hour and networking with food and beverages provided by local restaurants, wineries and breweries. (Encinitas Chamber of Commerce)

Wednesdays@Noon: Pierre-Yves Plat, piano
The French pianist presents more than 100 concerts a year and reinterprets classical masterpieces into jazz, ragtime, boogie, salsa and disco. His repertoire takes you from Chopin to Ray Charles, from Bach to Stevie Wonder, while saving room for some surprises. Pierre-Yves enchants audiences with his virtuosity and humor, offering a fantastical journey between classical and jazz. (Parks, Rec. and Cultural Arts Dept.)

Family Fun Craft: Bunnies!

Dinner and a Movie: Apur Sansar
This final installment in Satyajit Ray's Apu Trilogy follows Apu's life as an orphaned adult aspiring to be a writer. Bring your own dinner or snacks.

LIFE Film: The Hunt

Opening Reception: Taylor Chapin
Window Shopping. The exhibit of paintings emphasizes detailed patterns, light, and reflections, while seeking to highlight the significance of the current moment. "Kitsch, consumerism, euphemisms and voyeuristic separation are examined to suggest the inherent comedy, and absurdity, of daily life." Meet Taylor and enjoy refreshments.

Families Make History: Rain Sticks
Native American's used rain sticks to call upon the gods for rain in a dry climate.  In March, celebrate these customs by making your own rain sticks, using paper rolls, rice, beans, foil, paint, feathers, and, of course, your imagination, and let your creativity rain supreme.
